Frankly, people have been saying that since the dawn of time. And, just as frankly, “man up” isn’t a real verb and it’s a sexist piece of language to boot. And if you need someone to say it again, I will:
Abortion is misogyny and cruelty. It is a violation of human rights and I am one of billions who thinks that it ought to be gone. Abortion is an evil, just like poverty or war or theft, and it is born of other evils and to simply keep it around is to say that women will just have to “take one for the team” and put up with even a smattering of misogyny, and I, for one, will not stand by and let that actually happen. Comprende?

Short answer (not to disparage the long one) to Xalisae & Vannah:
God calls the shedding of innocent blood an ABOMINATION. God calls homosexuality an ABOMINATION. You are free to reject God’s Word, but that’s what He has said about abortion and homosexuality and for those of us who know Him, it is clear who is the author of both (aka the father of lies).

The good news is that God loves sinners.
He loves all of ‘US’ [I include myself in the cast of sinners] so much that HE asked HIS SON JESUS to pay for our [mine too] sin with HIS [JESUS’ own life and blood.]
I will note that in the lenghty passages I cut and pasted Jesus was talking to ‘religious’ people, some of whom were Jews who had believed in HIM.
“So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples.”
But some of these folks were so emotionally attached to their ‘religion’ and it’s traditions that they could not let go of their idoltry and reject the counterfeit and embrace the real deal when HE [the real deal] was standing right in front of them revealing the secrets of their hearts, healing their sick, raising their dead and working all sorts of miracles.
So in the reasonings of their natural minds they had to come up with another explanation to refute Jesus’ cleary demonstrated bona fides.
They accused HIM of being the devils mouthpiece and handyman.
They had to destroy HIM before HIS teachings destroyed their religion and them.
If you haven’t yet caught the first glimmmer of HIS glorious light are you at least starting to feel HIS heat?

This is completely irrelevant but according to my own concept of physical beauty RacHELL Maddcow is not too shabby.
But while external beauty is skin deep, ugly works its way from the inside out.

I’m sorry, ken, but I’ve spent years of my life reading the bible, and although I do appreciate certain aspects of the message given in various parts, I do not accept it as the verbatim word of god. I’ve already gleaned everything I need to take away from it, and I promised myself I’d not waste another moment reading a book I have already read in an attempt to appease people who feel I should be someone else.
Everyone wants to bring up Jesus and his sacrifice to mankind…I suppose to try and guilt-trip me into becoming a Christian(again)? But what you all do not realize is that after studying history, I found out that people of all persuasions were ROUTINELY treated with such violence by the Romans. They lined entire roads with crucified men and women!
But ugh…no…you’ve goaded me into discussing religion, and I love Christians more than I hate religion…I’m sorry.

You may choose NOT to believe in either the ‘book’ or it’s Author. That is your perogative.
But you asked a question and I answered it as one who is pro-life and a Christian.
Please forgive me for presuming that you or Vannah placed any value in the contents of the ‘book’.
I see no profit in using the ‘book’ to support my perspective when the ‘book’ has no value to the person to whom I am communicating.
That is kind of like the man who is trying to make points with the woman who is no longer keeping score.
If there is no GOD or there is a GOD who does not care one way or the other who lives or dies, then how do you or society as a whole arrive at what is right or wrong?
What is your point of reference?
Why is wrong to kill or steal or lie?
Why do you even care who lives or dies?
The Dead Babies R Us crowd pretty much all agree that abortion kills a human embryo/fetus.
They have just made the determination that it is OK to kill them if that is what the pregnant woman wants to do.
They only see value in the ‘choice’, not the child.
By what standard do you determime the pre-natal is valueable?
You have no North star by which to determine your position.
The truth is though you have rejected both the ‘book’ and it’s Author, you are still living according to some of the the worldview it produced.
You are an example of an anchorless soul adrift in a post christian culture.
The difference between you and the Dead Babies R Us crowd is you draw the abitrary line shorter than they do in regards to the value of the prenatal child but you are in agreement with them as far as attitudes toward homosexuality go.
The ‘line’ is not a fixed position in the sand. It moves with the mood of society and it may be redrawn longer or shorter according to the whim of the moment.
When you choose to reject GOD as the ultimate authority of right and wrong then you have made yourself and by extension the state, GOD.
This is not an arguement to get you to reconsider the ‘book’ or GOD, but to reconsider whether or not you want to give the state the power to determine what is right or wrong or who is or is not a person.
Hisory is replete with examples of the danger of making that choice.
