Actor John Stamos to perform with Beach Boys at Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Concert
Exciting breaking news! When the Beach Boys perform at the 2011 Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Concert on June 12 in Ketterling, OH, they will be joined by actor John Stamos!
Also performing at this 2nd annual fundraising concert will be The Lettermen. Both groups will sing their many hits from the 60s-80s.
Tickets are $35, and sponsorships are welcome. I’ll be there!
But who knew Stamos periodically performs with the Beach Boys? I just looked for videos on YouTube and found quite a few. He’s been with them a long time. This 1st video is from 1986. Sorry about the poor quality, but it still rocks…

This next Beach Boys/Stamos video is from Dancing with the Stars last year. So you see more dancers than the band, but it’s still all good…

I’m psyched! Let’s fill Fraze Pavilion up on June 12. We’ll have fun rocking to the oldies while helping an organization near and dear to all our hearts.
I seem to remember that Stamos played with them on a Full House episode or two (loved that show when I was a kid).

Good for them!! My mom’s a Beach Boys fan from way back. :-) Nice to see them supporting a cause like this.

I’ve seen the Beach Boys before… can’t remember if John was with them or not. It was quite some time ago. But yeah, I think John’s been with them since his Full House days, or shortly thereafter. :)

I see in several places online that John Stamos is a Christian, in the denomination called “Disciples of Christ.” Interesting, had no idea. He doesn’t seem the type. Neither do the Beach Boys… Are they pro-life???? Or is this just a gig?

Stamos starred in a movie “Wedding Wars” as a gay wedding planner. Stamos stated that his performance reflected his support for same-sex marriages. Stamos kissed another man in this movie.
No longer a fan of his.
On the other hand his causes /charities seem respectable like “Project Cuddle” and more.

These groups are pretty corny, but I hope they raise lots of money for this worthy cause!

LOL John Stamos and the Beach Boys… That’s not just scraping the bottom of the barrel… That is flipping the barrel over and cleaning the underside with a straw… lol and I thought my wife dragging me to a U2 concert was going to be lame lol

I LOVE the Beach Boys! Mike Love and I think Bruce Johnston and some of the other guys that Mike has join him were at the Nebraska state fair in 2000. I got to hear some of my favorite songs like Good Vibrations. Good clean music.
Yes, Beach Boys were on Full House several times…three times I think. Their first appearance was my favorite episode w/them.

I love ’em too. One of my fondest memories of my youth was playing “I Get Around” on a diner jukebox in Arizona in ’64.

It’s hard to get good acts when your world view is informed by facts, reason, and logic instead of what the latest over-exposed media airhead tells you to think. Sorry Biggz!

I’m afraid I won’t be able to get up there. But, that’s extremely cool the Beach Boys will be there. I’ll have to tell my parents. My Dad is a fan of theirs–he can play some of their music on the guitar. I grew up singing “Sloop John B”.

Xalisae – I don’t even know what you are talking about? You notice that everyone who is stating they like the beach boys are almost Social Security age? No offence guys. I am just saying that you could get the beach boys to play at a pet rock funeral… It costs more to get Snookie “who I can’t stand” to stand on stage telling stories about her first tanning session then to book the Beach Boys… It is good clean music from the late 50’s early 60’s that is very Luke warm and cheap to book. I like the beach boys more than I like U2 that for sure and my wife is dragging me to U2…. Bono…. what a dork. I will tell you which Christian I like to watch live on stage, Chris Cornell. He is one of the few Christians I like listening to and his stage show is awesome. You know it is not so much the Beach Boys that I find funny in this story, it is John Stamos… lol When Full House is your big career achievement… I don’t think you even qualify as a celebrity. lol
Xalisae I am not taking a cheap shot at you here but, your comments always seem a bit jaded. I am guessing that something has happened in your life recently and you are a little bitter about it. Just an observation not a jab in anyway.

This is old school. It’s a way that use to work really well and the goal is to shame a woman into silence. You make your points really well that’s probably what’s bothering him.

If you were defending unborn babies maybe your arguments would improve. lol

My favorite Beach Boys song is Surfin USA. And I’ve only been to one Christian Concert but it was Carmen and it was awesome.

Other things that are lame? Saying “lol” twice in one sentence when you are an adult. lol.

I treat my friends as friends and adversaries as just that. There are people on this board who know that I am not bitter, because my interaction with them is friendly, because they are my friends. They are my friends because they don’t advocate the legality of us as a society allowing mothers to execute their children as long as those children are in a certain location. If you didn’t espouse such a horrific worldview, you’d find me to be quite pleasant. ^_^
And what I meant by my original statement, which you obviously need clarification for, is simply this: When you are aligned with a movement that is not advocated by the popular media, you’re going to find your choice of fundraiser entertainment rather limited right off the bat, since most of the bigger names in entertainment fall right in line with the chosen viewpoint of the media. Thinking for yourself and doing what is right limits your options, but we Pro-Lifers already knew that. Trust me, I’d rather sit at the “Lame Kids’ Table” than be invited over to the “Cool Kids’ Club” if those cool kids think it’s a-ok for a mom to kill her children that depend on her entirely and who she should be caring for and nurturing rather than murdering.

Also Biggz… “something’s happened in your life recently”….Honey, that’s what life IS, one set of unexpected circumstances to the next. I know it’s hard for the pro-choice to imagine, but not everyone’s life is a comfortable hay ride all of the time, even-wait for it-PLANNED and WANTED *GASP* individuals (like myself-born exactly 9 months after my parents were married and very much planned and wanted, my mom was a virgin when she married my dad) sometimes have a rough go of things. I swear, with as many of you as there are, I’m surprised the suicide rate isn’t higher, since you lot seem to think that death is always the preferable alternative to living if one’s life is not the picture of happiness 100% of the time. XD
Also, thank you for the kind support, myrtle miller. ;)

You are so welcome and it’s nice to know that alas you are not struggling beneath a weight of bitterness (?) ! I’m of the opinion that should bitterness every enter your abode it would leave more educated, much more pragmatic and would probably be off on a better crusade this time.

Biggz,
I’d like to make a correction on your part. I’m in high school, and plenty of my friends LOVE the Beach Boys.
Xalisae,
Come to think of it, the suicide rate is higher.

The Disciples of Christ is a denomination that has its roots in the restoration movement of the 18th and 19th centuries. It is the only branch of that movement that is an official denomination (the other branches are all just loosely affiliated local churches). As a branch they are more liberal both politically and theologically then their non-denom. cousins, similar to the more liberal branches of the Lutheran and Methodist churches. It’s not a surprise to see someone support gay marriage and oppose abortion. That combination is becoming more and more common, especially among they younger generation. The same generation that is more pro-life then their parents is also more pro-gay marriage then their parents.
