But don’t forget, underneath the fake veneer, Obama seeks to destroy everything that sweet old man in Rome stands for that doesn’t suit his political ends.
It’s just a little repulsive that he uses children and the Pope to score political points, neither of whom – truth be told – he has any real attraction for.
Watch out Catholics, watch out. Here we go again.

It’s only May ’11 and already President Barry is raising campaign money and trying once again to court the Catholic vote. I’m so shocked, shocked, I tell you. Lol!
Obama is not above using ANYBODY for political gain, then he discards them like a used tissue when they’ve outlived their usefulness to him (watch out, Michelle!)
Anything in hopes of getting a vote!
Why would they be proud to have their daughters meet a man who wants to take away their reproductive rights?

On January 30, 1933 Adolph Hitler became the democratically elected chancellor of Germany. The people of Germany elected the man who had vowed to destroy the democratic government. Hitlers election to office destroyed the office.
Forty eight hours had passed since Hitler’s election. Hitler never publicly denounced God, He knew well that there were many churchgoers in Germany who had some vague idea that real authority should come from their God…but they had no idea what this actually meant.
To embody the kind of leadership that rejected the idea of submission to God’s authority, one must at least give lip service to that God, esle one would not last very long. Hitler was ultimately a practical man, and as all truly practical men, he was a cynical man.
The Fuhrer was no mere man or mere politician. He was something terrifying and authoritarian, self contained and self justifying, his own father and his own god. He was symbol wh symbolized himself, who had traded his soul for zeitgeist.
To convince his followers that his authority was legitimate, Hitler must say the necessary things.
“We are determined, as leaders of the nation, to fulfill as a national government the task which has been given us, swearing fidelity only to God, our conscience and our Volk.”
Hitler declared his government would make “Christianity the basis of our collective morality.”
“May God Almighty take our work into His grace, give true form to our will, bless our insight, and endow us with the trust of the Volk.”
On February 3rd Joseph Goebells wrote in his diary: “Now it will be easy to carry on the fight, for we can call on all the resources of the state. Radio and press are at our disposal. We shall stage a masterpiece of propaganda. And this time, naturally, there is no lack of money.”
Then, on February 27th, the NAZI’s set fire to the Reicstag and successfully blamed it on the communists. The very next day Hitler pressed the 85 year old President, Paul von Hindenburg, to sign the Reichstag Fire Edict, officially suspending those sections of the German constitution that guaranteed individual liberties and civil rights.
On March 23rd, Hitler, thru his NAZI proxies in the Reichstag, orchestrated the passage of the Enabling Act which would formally take away it’s powers for four years and place them in the eager hands of Adolph Hitler and hs cabinet.
Like a snake swallowing it’s own tail, ther Reichstag passed the law which abolished it’s existence.
The rest lives on in infamy.

Ken, why are you writing about Hitler? I thought the subject was Obama and the Pope.
MaryBeth, maybe the Obama girls are thinking about converting. Maybe they appreciate the Pope for reasons other than his views on reproductive rights. The Obama family can’t say anything negative or positive about the Pope? Is that your position?

And, yes, I’m probably projecting. Because I cannot fathom the – other than being in favor of the choice to slaughter not only any nascent human life in a very brutal and painful way, but even to allow born babies to die if they happen to survive the abortion procedure – he’s really very moral.
Anytime I think of something vaguely positive the President may have done, I’m reminded of the suffering, dying, baby on the hospital table who deserves the same right to medical care to keep him or her alive that any other person would receive in a medical facility. Nobody with an ounce of moral fiber can hold that view.
You have made a great point, Hal and I stand corrected. Hal is right. Just because President Obama is so obviously morally corrupt, there is no reason he shouldn’t admire our wonderful Holy Father.
MaryBeth, we sure live in a diverse world. From my perspective, the current President is much more admirable than the current Pope. However, I will agree than neither is entirely good or entirely bad. Like all of us, they are both human and therefore complex. I am glad that President Obama doesn’t demonize the Pope and finds enough to respect in him that he’s proud to have his daughters meet the man.
As for any danger that the Pope will successfully take away any American’s reproductive rights, I’m sure that President Obama isn’t losing sleep over that possibility.
Good for you that you can find the beauty in infanticide, Hal. If only I could picture a suffering, dying baby on a hospital table and think, “I admire a man who believes this baby should suffer and die right here.” My life sure would be a lot easier.
You’re right. The Pope isn’t going to take away any American’s reproductive rights. However, the prayers and hard work of many people are going to save the lives of women and their babies! I don’t know what he loses sleep over and what he doesn’t, but you would have to be incredibly tone-deaf to not realize that the pro-choice side is on the defensive and losing support.
Super victory in Texas today! I know it’s conservative, but sheesh, it’s the where Roe V Wade started. And, its the first legislative victory in 6 years. Plus, Indiana defunding PP, several other states considering it. I’m pretty sure many, many pro choicers are losing sleep. They should be!
