Photos: Beach Boys/Lettermen benefit concert for the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network
The 2nd annual Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Concert was this past Sunday in Dayton, OH, and it featured the Beach Boys with special guest John Stamos and The Lettermen.
A sold-out crowd of 3,000 enjoyed two ridiculously fun performances that were even interactive. At several points various band members came into the audience or pulled fans like Suzanne Schindler Vitadamo (right, with Beach Boy Mike Love) and Brothers Paul and Conrad (below, with John Stamos) on stage.
And the after-party, oh! We were pleasantly surprised when John Stamos and several of the Beach Boys and Lettermen dropped by.
Following are just a sampling of the photos I took. See the rest at my Facebook group page….
Wonderful photos!!!
I am so glad the night went so well!!

I really like Stamos, too. Ummmm, Jill? Where is the picture of you and “Uncle Jesse?” Maybe I just missed it on the FB pics…

I watched her story unfold on the 24-hour news networks. Many times they showed a photo of her sitting outside wearing a scarf and sunglasses, looking like Greta Garbo. Her husband was bent over and leering into the camera.
She looked for all the world like she was giving him the cold shoulder. I was surprised when I heard them say this photo was taken shortly after she fell ill. Not before. This convinced me that her family was telling the truth. Her husband really did overrule her therapy, ensuring her deterioration.
What you don’t understand, Biggz, is that where there is life, there is hope. The travesty done to Terry Schindler Schiavo was the canary in the coal mine. A million babies a year are slaughtered “out of sight, out of mind”. She was killed right before our eyes.
Shame on us if we don’t wake up and turn back the tide of this culture of death.

Biggz, if it helps, think of it as analogous to the Terry Fox Run.
(If you don’t know about that particular event (which I could understand, since I don’t know where you live or how famous Terry Fox is around the world), I highly recommend looking it up. While even on its own merits it’s a great and worthy cause, it could help clarify this event for you as well.)
In the case of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope concert, though, instead of helping to fight a physical/medical cancer, it’s fighting a social one; the belief that the value of people’s lives is so dependent on their ability to function properly that when that ability vanishes, so does their worth.
An endlessly dangerous and dehumanizing mentality, and not one that should find any welcome in a civilized society.
