Occupy Womb Street
So evidently we should sacrifice a mother to save a fetus, but pumping that fetus full of heavy metals is just dandy. Okay, then.
I really wanted to work this point into the cartoon, but there’s only so much inanity you can address in four panels.
~ Cartoonist Jen Sorensen, Daily Kos, October 19
Misplaced compassion at its worst. Perhaps, may I suggest a bit of analysis on the contribution to the economies of a born person versus one murdered by abortion. Where are the growing economies today? Those with growing populations.

Worried about mercury levels? Why don’t you stop blaming politicians and read the package on those fancy newfangled light bulbs that we all must buy today.
And how come Starbucks-toting kids can pee on the sidewalks for a month but a developing human being doesn’t have the chance to occupy his own mother’s womb?

What a stupid, non-sensical cartoon.

The stupidity of that cartoon is just mind-boggling. It must be hard for a person to forcibly steer so far away from logic and reason. Without an actual intelligent argument to make, the only option is wildly convoluted, immature name-calling.

That’s not all Jen has to say about the matter.
She’s rather prolific in her pro-choice, cartoonish views.

I don’t understand the message she’s trying to convey. Does she honestly believe that pro-lifers are worried about the unemployment rate of the unborn? Where on earth does she get that idea? And when have pro-lifers ever said that it’s acceptable, or laudable, to pump heavy metals into fetuses?
She must really be suffering from some pangs of conscience if she finds herself unable to mock an actual pro-life position, and must resort to mocking ones from her own imagination.

One of the reasons I’ve stopped regular commenting on here is that many pro-choicers have reached a point of being so completely devoid of any kind of rationale it’s not even worth a response.
I saw myself falling into a definition of insanity: Trying to convince them of the humanity of the unborn and expecting a different result, knowing full well that to abortion proponents, actual facts are only useful (and true to them) if the distortions of those facts supported their worldview.
Jen’s cartoon exemplifies that “wanted:it’s human, unwanted:it’s tissue” silly putty-like mentality.
I know that comment in general comes across as hugely condescending, and it’s not intended for those like Hal, Doug or Enigma, among others, who have made impassioned, cogent (but I believe ultimately flawed) arguments.
So, if the shoe fits…
In the meantime, I’ll go dedicate my time to where it can make a real difference in lives – at CPCs.

What an inane “cartoon.” It doesn’t even make sense.

Ah, the proaborts. Once again: CLASSY.

Ha ha, Sydney, I didn’t see your comment until now! Our comments are fraternal twins.

Nonsensical, and poorly drawn to boot.
No wonder some people call the Daily Kos the “Daily Kooks!”

This is what happens when arguing ratchets up to hysterical levels. They end up making the very points of the other side. “Mother” concedes there is a child to consider. The fact that heavy metals can harm that child is another argument deflater.
Is the “Occupy Wall Street” spectacle about jobs and pollution too? Why can’t they pick a topic of concern and stick with it?

Carter says:
“She’s rather prolific in her pro-choice, cartoonish views.”
To that I add “buffoonish”. Is this the best our educational system can do?

Didn’t Bill Cosby say that unborn babies write on the walls in there?
