- Abstinence Clearinghouse happily reports that the controversial Oxygen show, “All My Babies’ Mamas”, is being cancelled before its debut and is no longer in development. The show would have showcased rapper Shawty Lo’s relationships, which resulted in 11 children with 10 different women. Many pro-family groups – including several in the African American community – expressed disgust with the concept of the show. Star Parker remarked:
The destruction of the black family in only 40 years is not normal and it should not treated as entertainment for vulnerable children and young women. The consequences of living without responsibility perpetuates poverty and it’s cruel.
- Matt Clinger pens a guest post on wife Kelly Clinger’s blog after watching MSNBC’s Touré claim abortion “saved” him. A post-abortive father himself, Matt’s message is a must-read:
If you are in a relationship that you KNOW isn’t going to work out, why continue to call it a committed relationship and stay in it?… Men, hear me. This is one of the root problems of abortion: disrespectful, childish men who couldn’t truthfully admit “I know we are not going to get married, but let’s have sex and possibly conceive a child that neither of us are ready for.”…Abortion will end when BOYS can become MEN who respect women enough to not have sex with them until they are in a REAL “committed” relationship… called MARRIAGE.
- Americans United for Life supports Missouri legislation introduced by Republican House Rep. John McCaherty, which would prohibit abortions due to sex selection and diagnosis of a disability. AUL’s Dr. Charmaine Yoest writes:
It is wrong to discriminate against unborn children, targeting them for either their sex or a perception of their abilities and potential. We can do better. - Big Blue Wave notes that the Canadian press continues to spin the facts on abortion:
Canadian Press reports that three MP’s are trying to get post-viability abortions investigated as homicides… without mentioning the fact that these babies were born live, as per their letter. - Fletcher Armstrong shares a video of Center for Bio-Ethical Reform executive director Gregg Cunningham’s pro-life presentation in a church, which included graphic abortion images. The serious question that remains for the church is, “Are we taking abortion as seriously as God takes child sacrifice in the Old Testament?” The answer is most likely “no.”

I actually had a thought like this. I think it’s really limited to act like girls and women aren’t going after sex ever, like it’s all pressuring dudes and virginal girls. Abortion falls on women and men just about equally in my opinion.

The simple fact is that boys and men — not girls and women — are the ones who SEEK partnered sex. Males are the ones who attempt the sort of sex that can lead to pregnancy. Therefore, it makes sense to talk especially toward them.

You obviously have never been hit on by girls before lol. Women, at least in my age group, seek out casual and not so casual sex a lot. It’s the hookup culture. Not saying it’s necessarily right, but people should stop pretending it’s just them dirty and horny boys wanting to get laid. It’s not reality anymore, if it ever was.

I agree 100 percent. When are women going to be held responsible for their actions? I get tired of prolifers talking about all the big bad mean men pressuring women into abortions. Yes, it does happen, but in many cases there is no pressure involved at all — the woman simply does not want to carry the child to term. Yet somehow women are always painted as innocent.
In cases where parents murder their young children, it”s iusually the mothers who are the culprits,, but we never hear this. Remember Andrea Yates, the woman who drowned her children? The media and women’s groups immediately rushed to defend her. Can you imagine that happening if she had been a man?

Women actually commit most child abuse in general (except sexual, though there are way more female pedos than anyone thinks), according to statistics. And I do think that men and women are held to different standards when it comes to sex, violence, or anything else that people want to excuse women from being in charge of their own lives. I can’t even tell you how many people have excused my mom for her terrible treatment of me, but no one has ever tried to excuse my dad. It’s an annoying double standard. It’s pretty offensive to women, in my opinion, to act like they can’t make their own decisions at all.

Of course! But Matt’s quoted statement is still TRUE! That is not saying that women are victims or not to blame as well, but this is a different message and approach! If men did not have sex until they both were ready to be parents, abortion would be very rare. Just true.

Star Parker’s quote is spot on. I hope she rises ever higher in politics, and stays sane, too.

(Denise) This happens to be fact. I don’t excuse girls and women but they are not, generally speaking, the ones who seek this type of sex.

It’s not fact Denise. It’s an opinion of yours that happens to be wrong.

Ugh, this is classic Denise. When someone points out a problem with one of her statements, she simply reasserts it as if that’s an argument.
