Pro-life vid of day: Sen. Gillibrand – “We all knew” you couldn’t keep it
The Independent Journal Review has video of EMILY’s List darling, abortion advocate Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, admitting that she and her colleagues “all knew” Americans would not be able to keep their insurance plans, despite President Obama’s repeated promises.
While the Senator seems to believe the point of Obamacare is to cover “preventive care” and “birth control,” the IJ Review says that’s not quite how it was sold:
So if Senator Gillibrand wants to talk about “the whole point” of the Unaffordable Care Act, it wasn’t sold as a way to make people’s existing insurance plans better. It was sold as a way to cover 30 million uninsured citizens (which the plan fails to do), lower healthcare spending (which it fails to do), reduce spending on insurance premiums for families by $2,500 (which it fails to do), all while allowing people to keep their preferred insurance plans and their doctors (which it fails to do).

Wow, revisionist history, that’s all they have left. “A!” “I never said ‘A,’ everyone knew it was B!” I only remember incessant talk about the uninsured, lowering premiums and “bending the cost curve.” Mostly it was sold to the masses as a way to help the uninsured, and the policy wonks mostly talked about it bending that medical cost curve. They never talked about birth control, which the Senator talking about tells me their internal polling shows them they desperately need to keep women on the political bandwagon over this. Here we see the problem of governing by splitting people into groups and promising 51% of the groups handouts. They can’t even own up to their own failure, it was your fault for not knowing they needed to tell lies to everyone despite the fact everyone should have already known that they needed better health insurance despite the fact that more than 90% of sick people with health insurance were satisfied with their health plans. I guess those people need to be thankful for getting kicked off of their insurance by the government so they can have doubleplus good plans now.
Kirsten,
You are gonna be in some deep doo-doo.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is just another spokesperson for the political/cultural Left in general and the rabid pro-abortion movement specifically. She reveals from her own mouth that to her and her ideology truth is not important; that lies and deception are permissible to advance her and their leftist/pro-abortion agenda.
At the risk of repeating myself from another thread:
– OCare approval rating as of this morning is at 40 percent with 57 percent of Americans opposing,
– O’s approval rating is at 42 percent with 58 percent of Americans disapproving of his leadership.
So, NO, based on these numbers O will not regain public’s trust. The administrative reprieve is not going to help either.
Yes, yes, yes….. They lied, and they knew it — except for the fools, but none of them will admit to that.
ACA is still the law, and its damage will continue to work its way through the system while the political engineers try to control the damage.
But we knew all of that before the 2012 election, and we re-elected Obama anyway.
As pro-lifers, we need to stay on task. Support your pro-life candidates. Make sure that any fixes and patches to the ACA will protect life. Support your pro-life charities — with less insurance out there, pregnant women are going to need more help. Don’t let Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry profit from the ACA or its failure.
A true ding-a-ling. LL
