Obama invokes sacred pro-life Scripture at National Prayer Breakfast
Psalm 139:13-16 is the go-to Bible passage 90% of the time for pastors planning sermons on the pro-life issue. In it, David eloquently describes human life as a continuum that begins at conception, with God as our Creator:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Yesterday at the National Prayer Breakfast the same president who opposed bans against partial birth abortion and interstate trafficking of minors for abortion, who was willing to shut down the government to preserve Planned Parenthood funding, and who voted four times against the Illinois Born Alive Infants Protection Act, invoked likely this most sacred Scripture to pro-lifers in all of the Bible :
Today, we profess the principles we know to be true. We believe that each of us is “wonderfully made” in the image of God. We, therefore, believe in the inherent dignity of every human being – dignity that no earthly power can take away.
Thus, pro-abortion/pro-infanticide Obama agreed we are wonderfully “made,” not “born,” the sole interpretation of which can only be that he agrees we are human prenatally.
Obama also agreed we humans are “made in the image of God,” which he lifted from Genesis 1:26-27.
Obama concluded that since we are “wonderfully made,” and because it is “in the image of God,” we are bestowed an “inherent dignity… that no earthly power can take away.”
In the sentence prior to this section Obama acknowledged that killing the innocent is more than a wrong, it is a betrayal of God:
Extremists succumb to an ignorant nihilism that shows they don’t understand the faiths they claim to profess – for the killing of the innocent is never fulfilling God’s will; in fact, it’s the ultimate betrayal of God’s will.
Just who is this man?
I almost didn’t write this post, because I’ve run out of new words to describe Obama’s schizophrenic support of abortion while continuing to say things like this. But I fumed so much yesterday, I decided I had to say something. Just when I think Obama can no longer shock me by his audacity toward God, he does.
Commenters on Facebook shared their by now well-worn words for Obama: delusional, cognitive dissonant, shameless, zero integrity, sick in the head, liar, beast of the Book of Revelation, true politician, foul creature, anti-christ, pure evil, and hypocrite.
But Obama actually came up for a new description of himself yesterday – “ignorant nihilist extremist” – since he is indeed one of those who pushes “the killing of the innocent.”
Obama’s mindset on abortion is simply impossible for me to fathom. How can he say we are “wonderfully made” and then go on about his day enabling “the killing of the innocent” preborn, who he knows are “wonderfully made… in the image of God”?
It has come to the point where I actually wince when he says these things and watch for lightning to strike.

“Just who is this man?”
Symptoms point to DSM’s Axis II Cluster B: borderline, histrionic, narcissistic. In his world, integrity and consistent values are meaningless. Saying different things to different groups to elicit adoration is what’s important. In his world, you’re just a hater if you point that out.
Mr. President, actions speak louder than words. Until I see actions that back up your words, I will always believe you are simply insincere, outright lying, or mocking pro-life people of faith.
I was speechless when I heard these words re: innocents. His heart is truly hardened.
Do you think he just reads what is on the teleprompter and did not realize what was written beforehand?
The devil often mimics God’s Word in evil mockery.
Who is he talking about?
Preborn human beings? All of them? Some of them? The ones that make it out of the womb alive?
Oh good gracious. The rank hypocrisy.
I almost felt the same way during his comments after the Sandy Hook tragedy. All this talk of innocent children and life being precious… Like what about the innocent Syrian babies he’s murdered with drone strikes? And the innocent babies killed daily by abortion that he gleefully supports? And even his innocent prospective grandchildren that he would blithely send to the butchers?
I don’t know. It just doesn’t shock me anymore.
““inherent dignity… that no earthly power can take away.”
Except earthly power that goes by the name of “reproductive healthcare.” And nothing says inherent dignity like medical waste.
Leticia ~ Well said. Exactly. When the devil tempted Jesus, he quoted God’s Word in this way.
Quite frankly, I feel the same shock when I hear about pro-lifers that support the death penalty, speak so strongly against people who are illegal getting any sort of compassionate treatment, people who argue against food programs, or people who seem to think health insurance should be for less and not more people.
Again, if people are wonderfully made - how do people from BOTH parties so quickly find people they think aren’t quite so wonderfully made, and treat them as lessers because of that?
Hearing God’s Holy Word come out of that butcher’s mouth makes me gag.
Wow!!! I am speechless which BHO should be when quoting scriptures about the sanctity of life. Wow!! I cannot believe he actually went there. Courtney makes me want to gag as well. He is either totally deceived or a devious lying two-faced hypocrite.
ExGOP. I’m not going to go down the whole healthcare road (some people see it as bad economic policy and not as a compassion issue).
But I wholeheartedly agree that people from both parties need to be more conscious of the preciousness of life. Like when ‘pro-life’ politicians gleefully bomb the crap out of countries and march our men and boys off to be killed… what about their lives? Why is war such an easy decision to make for politicians nowadays? Why do they so blithely dismiss immigrants trying to get over here to be with their families and save their children from starvation?

Tie a mill stone around your neck and jump in the nearest body of water, then get back to us on how YOU are incapeable of understanding how Jesus could be in favor of the death penalty.
Find me one recorded incident where Jesus ever advocated using the state to steal other peoples wealth in order to fullfill His commandment for you to love your neighbor.
The ‘good Samaritan’ did not pick his neighbors pocket to provide for the traveler on the road from Jerusalem to Jericho who had the misfortune to encounter some democRATs who had beaten him, stripped him naked and left him for dead.
The ‘good Samaritan’, out of the goodness of his own heart, used his own wealth to provide for a victim of an opportunistic and predatory gang of thugs.
What percentage of your gross annual income did you freely give to those needy people who crossed your path last year?
Did you at least go down to your neighborhood food bank and volunteer to distribute the food?
Did you at least do what Hillary and Bill Clinton did and donate your worn out, skidmarked underwear to Goodwill so you could take the tax deduction?
The results of your ill conceived, misguided and ineptly applied ‘compassion’ will be more needy people with less and fewer able people with the resources to help them move from dependency to abundance.
What annoys me more than inexperienced clowns like Ex-RINO dictating to regular folk who are footing the bill and actually doing the work is ‘christians’ who would repeatedly inivite an anti-christ like the boRAT to lie to them.
.
bo is a liar. she doesn’t merely practice lying. she has refined it to an art form.
.
Why make room for this deceiver to ply her craft in assembly of the righteous?
I agree with Eric. He will say whatever he can to try and draw adulation from the people he is speaking to. He will speak of the beauty and intrinsic value of unborn human life at a prayer breakfast. And the very next day you could see him openly mock Scripture at a Planned Parenthood rally. He has no principles or compass.
Ken -
Thanks, as always, for the coherent and interesting thoughts.
Oh yeah, I too keep expecting a lightning strike…
It’s really amazing how easy Obama makes it to hate him.
