Editor of pro-abortion website claims there’s no difference between Islamic terrorists and Christian pro-lifers
Jodi Jacobson, editor-in-chief of the pro-abortion website RH Reality Check, claimed today on Twitter there is no difference between Islamic terrorists and Christian pro-lifers, as documented by blackcommunitynews.com.
As displayed at the bottom of bcn’s post, Jodi and I got into it a bit as well…
.@jljacobson If there's no diff b/t the fanatics in my "crowd" & Muslims, I'm sure you won't mind offering your journalistic skills to ISIS.

What started it all was this tweet by Jodi….
.@jljacobson You foolish woman. Which of those would be more likely to mutilate your genitals and force you to wear a burka?

Jacobson’s tweet started out sounding like a joke. “Man walks into a bar. Sees the Pope, Muhammed, a rabbi, and an Evangelical….”
I find it hard to believe Jacobson is really so foolish as a feminist to defend the Muslim faith.
Does she really not realize which one of those four would shut her smart mouth up but fast – likely with finality, maybe after he cut off her nose – while the rest would and do tolerate her twaddle?
A Black guy, a communist, and a Muslim walk into a bar…

Thanks for sharing the Black Community News link. Sadly, Ms. Jacobson isn’t alone. I’ve encountered abortion advocates (some who hold office) who firmly believe that silent prayer in front of an abortion facility creates an “atmosphere of violence.” There’s nothing to do in the face of such an attitude except keep praying.

$1 million are placed in a church, a temple, and a mosque as gift for RH Reality Check to pick up, but Jodi can only choose one. I wonder which one Jodi would dismiss first.

I’m a little confused here, you are referring to ISIS and Islamic extremists and no all Muslim’s i hope?

I thought RH Reality Check was going to quit with the Taliban comparisons. Because they’re offensive to Muslims of course, not because it’s an insult to the Taliban’s victims (most of them Muslim) to compare your first-world problems to the atrocities inflicted on them.

Where’s the bit where she defends the muslim faith?

You’re throwing a hissy fit because someone said that religious leaders are subject to critique? Gosh, it feels like only yesterday that you were demanding that the Vatican be held accountable for a transgression that you made up. People change, eh?

The obvious contrast (not comparison) is that Muslim terrorists are all about exterminating Israel and America – other countries too. Their ideology is a culture of death.
But pro-life is a culture of life. The difference is astronomical. No comparison.

When you use an us/them mentality to divide the world, it is easy to paint your enemies with a broad brush. If you are not with us, you are not only against us but victimizing us.
Besides the difference in motivation as pointed out by Claire, the terrorism by Muslim extremists is ongoing and still a threat. Abortion supporters treat the groundswell of peaceful pro-life activism as terrorism when bombings and shootings in the name of pro-life cause have not occurred in years. Furthermore, they are either ignorant of or discount the thousands of continuing violent and/or illegal acts committed in the name of “choice” against pro-life persons and property.

The Us/Them mentality: this is a necessary part of a cult. The “left,” as I have said, has morphed into being a cult. Regular decent people have been played by sophisticated rhetorical campaigns to go along.
The cult is a virtue/saviour cult. We liberals are attracted to this set of beliefs because we find ourselves superior to those Taliban-like Christians – the knuckle-draagging, stone-age, misogynist, white, privileged, racist, capitalist pigs.
If you believe the right things and repeat the correct opinions, you can avoid the scorn of being labeled one of “them.”
It is no longer acceptable to be a liberal and be pro-science/pro-life. As well, there is no global warming but rather than bringing this up and having a discussion, you will automatically get labelled as one of the enemy. If you are not for illegal immigrants receiving all kinds of help, then you are branded as the enemy. Is Mom/Dad the optimal settings for raising kids? No discussion allowed. Can’t I spank my kids? no discussion tolerated.
The Left has moved to be a cult. Monolithic. No thinking required, and no intelligent discussion tolerated.
In my Christian church, no one prohibits me or anyone from reading anything. We bring up tough questions to further explore our faith. When people have problems, they are accepted and helped. We help those in our congregation, and those outside of it.
I could go on.
Having had well more than two decades of adult life as a secular humanist involved in liberal politics, and having spent a good decade as a Christian, who continues to hold a set of liberal values, I know that the prevailing Liberal culture is a lot closer to Muslim Extremists than are American Bible-believing Christians.

Incidentally, the funniest thing about this post is the implication that evangelicals “tolerate” the “twaddle” of “foolish women” by choice rather than because of laws that constrain them from throwing more than Twitter hissy fits.
Take a guess: is the quote “You won’t get any condemnation from me for holding [blasphemers’] feet to the fire while there’s still time to repent” from a pope, a rabbi, a Muslim, or an Christian evangelical?

Wow, talk about an incendiary statement. In your extremely-prejudiced opinion, who are these “Taliban-like” Christians? I’ve been part of several different congregations for years, have met and known hundreds of Christians, and I’ve never known one who fits that description. Not one.

TheLastDemocrat, it’s too late for me to delete my former comment to you. But I wanted you to know that I saw this, so it seems you were being sarcastic? facetious? in your earlier comment.

I was being sarcastic. However, if you just read comments from many liberals at these pro-choice or huffpo or Kos, you will see that my sarcastic characterization is pretty much what these cult-minded progressives genuinely believe.

TheLastDemocrat, it is for that reason that I really don’t like the word “progressive” in that context. Seems to me that “regressive” is far more accurate.

Well, you generally don’t want to hear the word “progressive” come out of your doctor’s mouth regardless of your political stance.
