A first: White House issues executive order on abortion in Spanish

white house exec order spanish.pngToday President Obama signed the "Decreto Ejecutivo -- la Ley de Protección al Paciente y Cuidado de Salud de Bajo Precio coincide con restricciones sobre el uso de fondos federales para el aborto."

In English that's, "Executive Order -- Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act's Consistency with Longstanding Restrictions on the Use of Federal Funds for Abortion."

But for 45 minutes this afternoon Americans who only speak English wouldn't have known it, because the Spanish version was the only one up (click to enlarge)...

White House Executive Order in Spanish on briefing page.png

Now that's fixed, but the point is clear. President Obama is trying to woo Spanish - most likely Catholic - pro-life voters.

This is the first executive order Obama has ever issued in Spanish. In fact, it may be the first executive order ever issued in Spanish.

President Bush certainly never did.

Is this also a sign the next big push is going to be amnesty for illegal aliens?

Comments:

Barack Obama and the Democratic Party politicians who are unfortunately in power with him are morally corrupt.

They are deceitful, they are dishonest, they are manipulative, they are ruthless and they are very dangerous (not just to our unborn children but to our rights and liberties as well).

God help us all. November cannot come too soon.

Parse that last line in the executive order for me..... seems to take the teeth out of all the preceding text and make it optional.

Know whut I mean?

"Is this also a sign the next big push is going to be amnesty for illegal aliens?"

--------------------------------------------------

The president of the United States is america's number one 'undocumented alien'.

The liberal/progressive/humanist/democRATS have demonstrated that they have no regard for the constitution and/or the oathe they swore to uphold and defend it against all enemies domestic and foreign.

They are only interested in one thing.

Perpetuating their own power.

If they will brazenly bribe sitting members of Congress to advance their socialist/humanist agenda, is it unreasonable to expect they will find a way to bribe non-citizens to vote for them?

We are headed for civil war and the liberal/progessives/humanists will make mercenaries of the undocumented and illegal aliens living among us.

You know all those jobs they said Americans would not do.

There are quite a few folks in Michigan who might argue agains that assumption today.

B.O. is destabilizing the country. It is NOT inadvertent or the 'law of unintendened consequences' asserting itself.

No one could unintentionally make the wrong decisions this pretender and interloper has.

A nation's first obligation is to protect its citizens.

Bush failed utterly to protect us from invasion by criminal aliens. Obama continues in the same manner. Bush failed to protect us from irresponsible lending and gave public money to his banker friends to protect them at our expense as did Obama. At least Bush had pity on the innocent unborn, but not much for the innocent citizenry.

Now we have foreigners invading and demanding we recognize them as citizens and our traitorous government sides with foreigners against its own citizens. Foreigners invading and dictating the terms of our surrender. We can count on the coward and traitor Obama to sympathize with the aggressors against the innocent citizens he is sworn to defend.

America has always welcomed immigrants who respect our laws by entering legally. We owe foreign invaders nothing. Legal immigrants come with a respectful attitude and a desire to contribute and build this country. Illegals come looking to take what they can while maintaining their loyalty to another land.

Amnesty rewards those who lie and cheat and punishes the honorable legal entrants for their honesty and patience.

Obama seeks the loyalty of the corrupt over the honorable. He is a natural ally of the delinquent. He sees criminals as victims and innocent victims as oppressors. He sees the innocent unborn baby as the oppressor who seeks to punish the liberated woman. He sees the innocent citizen as the oppressor who won't surrender his country to invaders.

Hey Pharmer,

I believe you are correct. I'm not a lawyer but those last statements appear to concede what other Pro-Lifers have been saying:

The EO isn't worth the paper it's written on, it's not law.

Like a client of mine said to me today, it might as well have been written on Charmin.

Posted by: Ed at March 24, 2010 7:30 PM

Yep, Ed. I knew the order would be toothless, but the direct statement at the end (Americans have no recourse WHEN the government refuses to comply with this "order") is an extra show of arrogance.

Meanwhile Stupak calls all of those, who knew this about Obama, "hypocrites".

There's a lot of talk in TX that our growing Hispanic population will turn the state Blue. I just looked at my neighborhood's stats from the last election. My neighborhood is 70% Hispanic, 15%African American 15% White or other.

Basically, we're the prime example of what Dems are hoping for in terms of TX demographics.

We voted overwhelmingly Republican. The only Dems to win office were our national rep who's been in office for about 100 years and a local rep who ran without a Republican challanger.

If Obama thinks that issuing a worthless EO in Spainish is going to get him votes, he has another thing coming.

Posted by: Lauren at March 24, 2010 7:59 PM

Agreed Pharmer!

You talk about the pot and the kettle! This whole EO is nothing but a sham, a deceitful ploy designed to placate the consciences in the pro-death mob that would like to feign a pro-life position.

Hey, as long as you don't mind lying to yourself, you can scheme and plot to pay for the mutilation and barbaric deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent children with the President of the United States! And still call yourself Pro-Life!

Self-deception, the only way to go!

(that is, until you have to give an account of your actions before a Holy and Just God, Who unfortunately can clearly hear the blood of the slain innocents crying out for vengence; His children, because He adopts the precious ones who's parents murder and throw away...

the ones you conspired to kill)

FYI, faith based health care sharing ministry members are exempt from the individual mandate. I don't know how many there are but with a huge loophole like that, I can imagine they will grow in number and diversity.

one example:

I'm not a fan of illegal immigration, but immigration in general, I'm all for. And it doesn't really bother me that an EO is in Spanish. We have a fairly large Hispanic population in the US, so why shouldn't we release government documents in Spanish?

Hippie, unless the final version changed from what I previously read, I believe the ministry had to be in existence prior to the bill becoming law. In fact I think the date I read was in the 1990s. It was put in there for the Amish and Old Order Mennonites. I don't think it's a huge loophole. What I read seemed pretty tight and it was clear no new ministries would qualify. I think I also read that HHS has discretion to exclude established ministries.

I hate to nit-pick, but I don;t think the words on the White House web site represent the actual executive order. I'm sure the one on paper is in English. The web site is just a news feed.

Details, details.

" Illegals come looking to take what they can while maintaining their loyalty to another land." I read this in a comment and this is my response. The reason legal and illegal Hispanics come here is to have a better life for their families, especially their children.I do not condone amnesty or illegal immigration, but it not true that illegals have different reasons for coming here.

Why citizens from other countries come to the United States 'ILLEGALLY' or remain here 'ILLEGALLY" is NOT the question.

The questions is why the Federal Government has failed to fullfill it's constitutionally mandated responsibility to control our borders and to enfore our existing immigration laws.

The 'liberal/progressive/humanist democRATs expect us to immediately comply with their 'unconstitutional' mandates but ignore enforcement of laws they do not like of find inconvienent.

They strain out the gnats and shove the camel up and down our collective orifices.

Hippie,

Thank you for correcting my omission.

Republicans have also failed to control our borders.

Conservatives seem to be the only ones who have at least paid lip service to the problem.

Sorry, the Department of Justice crime statistics do not support your opinion. Legal immigrants are actually less likely to commit crimes than legal immigrants while illegal immigrants are far more likely to commit crimes and their children more likely to join gangs. Educational statistics show that their children are far more likely to be on welfare and far less likely to graduate even in the fourth generation. Family values matter. Those who do not value work and the rule of law perpetuate lawlessness.

We have such a corrupt and lying media, people do not know the facts.

The fact is those who disregard laws are criminals.

correction, that should be

Peach,

Thank you. Illegal immigrants are, contrary to popular superstition, not desperate to hack up citizens with a chain saw. They want their children to have opportunities that they didn't have. And, frankly, a growing number of people in this country speak Spanish- there's nothing wrong with a bilingual statement. In fact, two languages isn't enough, but it's a start. :)

But we are NOT under attack by men, women, and children pursuing a good life.

Posted by: Vannah at March 25, 2010 7:27 PM

Well, actually...I do hope for amnesty for immigrants and hope that soon achieving citizenship will be easier...just thought that I ought to add that. But I agree with the rest of Peach's statement.

Ex-GOP Voter- that made me laugh. ^.^

Posted by: Vannah at March 25, 2010 7:39 PM

Vannah, there are LAWS about who can and cannot immigrate to this country. Those laws are in place to offer equal opportunities to those from all over the world. Plenty of people stand in line for the chance to legally move to the United States. My husband is one of them, he is a citizen of the U.K. with legal alien status in this country.

Amnesty is for ILLEGAL aliens who violate our country's laws and jump the line. What message does that send to people who are desperately attempting to come here LEGALLY.

The only thing the U.S. government requires is that people put in the right paperwork and wait their turn in line.

Other governments require much more. Did you know that to be eligible to move to Australia a person and their spouse must meet heavy eligibility requirements and have a number of years experience in a field of work that they consider acceptable and/or necessary?

Why should we reward people for breaking the law?

Posted by: Elisabeth at March 25, 2010 8:44 PM

Mexico's imigration laws are more restrictive and more actively enforced than those of the United States.

On a personal level I have little quarrel with people who would risk their life to enter this country illegally in an attempt to forge a better future for themselves and their family.

If the table were turned I might do the same for myself and my family.

But I would prefer the legal path of imigration.

My wife is not a U.S. citizen. She is a permanent resident alien and holds a 'green card'. We jumped through all the hoops that the U.S. government erected for her to be here legally.

I know too many other imigrants who have done the same to excuse those who have not because they claim it is too difficult.

I would not be marching in Mexico City demanding concessions from the Mexican government.

I have no desire to be beaten or possibly killed or spending an indeterminate amount of my life in Mexican prison.

My quarrel is with the United States government for not controlling our borders or enforcing existing imigration laws at least as vigorously as the Mexican government does theirs.

Amnesty?

No way José!

By the way my good friend José Hernandez immigrated from Mexico to the U.S.A. the legal way and is now a naturalized citizen.

Something B.O. has yet failed to do.
