Reader Joe P. drew my attention to this photo taken in April 1945 of Jewish children and a baby in a mass grave at Nordhausen, Germany (courtesy of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum).

Joe compared that Holocaust to our modernday Holocaust of babies, writing that the Nazis called Jewish people "untermenschen," translated "subhumans."

Interestingly, when people view disturbing images such as this, they become angry at those who perpetrated the crime. But when people view images of aborted children, they commonly become angry at those showing the images, not those who perpetrated the crime.

Why? We are complicit.

Rep. Mike Castle (D-DE), who sponsored the embryonic stem cell bill in the House, bragged at a press conference Wednesday he knew precisely how members were going to vote beforehand.

Except he didn't. Hard lobbying by pro-life groups peeled away some of his votes at the last minute. HR 810 still passed, but it didn't pass with the veto-proof numbers Castle expected. Word is he felt the need to strut some braggadocio to overcompensate for what turned out to really be a loss....

Hillary Clinton and Howard Dean continue to promote the myth that the number of abortions has increased since President Bush was elected. Howard Dean said last weekend on Meet the Press, "You know that abortions have gone up 25% since George Bush was President?", and yesterday Hillary Clinton said on CNN, "During the Clinton administration, abortions went down, and they've gone back up under the Bush administration...." This myth was first promoted right before the last election, but seems to be getting new traction as pro-abortion politicians use it as a convenient excuse to continue defending aborting unborn children at any stage of development for any reason. The problem is that the abortion industry's own numbers contradict their claims, and this fact is explained in a recent analysis done by Annenberg Political Fact Check, which runs the site FactCheck.org. The Palm Beach Post is reporting that the alleged rape of a 17-year-old by her stepfather was covered up by the girl's mother, who took the girl for an abortion so authorities couldn't perform a paternity test on the baby.

Abortion is a sexual perpetrator's best friend....

Former Ms. Magazine editor Jennifer Baumgardner writes an enlightening piece in today's fairfieldweekly.com admitting that young women consider the mainstream abortion movement haggard ("stale") and out-of-touch ("blank faces" when confronted about "the lack of emotional resources" for post-abortive women).

Baumgardner tells of the "innovations" pro-aborts have created to connect with women, such as establishing a "non-judmental post-abortion talk-line" in California; "letting" pre- and post-abortive mothers to use the words "baby" and "killing" during counseling; and offering to show "fetal tissue" to mothers after their abortions. (If only they would show them ultrasounds beforehand. It would save a lot of counseling... but lose a lot of money.)

Baumgardner tells how surprised abortion proponents have been to discover that aborting mothers feel sadness and that they have murdered their babies.
