Characterization vs. character

Polls continue to corroborate that while most Americans continue to call themselves "pro-choice," their beliefs trend pro-life. In actuality, most Americans want restrictions or bans on who can abort, when, and how. These polls have been consistent over a span of time.

Despite Roe v. Wade, pro-lifers have and continue to find ways to restrict abortion. Whether or not we are successful on paper (passing laws), we are always successful. Every law we propose forces the other side to fight what most Americans consider common-sense guidelines on abortion.

This is one reason it's just a matter of time before it will no longer be political correct to be "pro-choice," and the answers to the polls will all match up.

  • jasper's quote of the day
Obama's 'freedom of choice' act is the equivalent of the fugitive slave act.

When I am pregnant, I choose not to see a doctor who performs abortions. I want a doctor who believes my baby is a human being whose life is worth saving, not one in the morally ambiguous position of killing some babies for convenience and letting others live if the mother wants them to.

Obama's Freedom of Choice Act would deny women like me the right to choose health care from doctors they trust and who share their commitment to life"
