Yesterday I discussed how the "clergy" loophole in parental notification legislation would allow hired abortion industry "clergy" to bless abortions or any liberal "clergy" member, or actually anyone at all who took five minutes to be ordained online.
Today, I have another suggestion. Abortion mills could call Homer Simpson!
Readers may recall that in 2005 Homer was himself ordained online after learning he could get $200 for marrying people. This is about the going rate I imagine "clergy" hired by Planned Parenthood get for blessing abortions.
Following are audios of Homer performing the same duties as would some members of the liberal "clergy" who have no problem advising minor girls to abort:

Again with the fictional pop culture references.
Could you atleast try to come up with something that pertains to REAL LIFE?
You really make the entire pro-life cause look foolish with this type of satirical nonsense. Fortunately, I know too many intelligent, educated, well spoken pro lifers to judge them all by a fool like you.
Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, is an avidly PRO CHOICE Unitarian Universalist. I doubt he'd appreciate you disgracing his creation for your baseless propaganda.
Do you have any evidence that Planned Parenthood hires clergy to do abortion counseling? Because as far as Ive ever known, any clergy who are active in Planned Parenthood are VOLUNTEERS.
Which makes everything you just wrote erroneous and pointless.
Posted by: Amanda at March 9, 2007 11:27 AMAmanda, if you could shelve the outrage for a moment ... you're missing the point.
The point is that anyone can be a minister. Here, go get your own ordination. Now, does that make you more-qualified to help people decide whether or not to abort? Why or why not?
Jill's post isn't really about Homer Simpson. She's just using humor to make her point.....
Posted by: Naaman at March 9, 2007 12:48 PMBwahaha. So this is just another example of how religion is a load of crap. Anyone off the street can become a clergyman? Nice.
Posted by: Jewels at March 9, 2007 4:08 PMFrom Michael Corleone as an example of a "real man" to Homer Simpson as an example of the clergy. What next? Archie Bunker as a civil rights activist? Congratulations on reaching new heights of ridiculousness.
Posted by: Joy at March 9, 2007 5:48 PMIt will be interesting to consider how many people we know of, or have heard of, that based some aspects of their life on fictional characters. How many of us imitate our movie heroes? How many times do we repeat the jokes on TV? How many times do we start a sentence with, "I was watching TV the other day and..." Don't we all?
Could it be funny because it's true?
Edgar,
Posted by: E. I. Sanchez at March 9, 2007 6:04 PMHow about this? When my husband married his first wife the "clergy" who, quite legally, presided over the marriage was a tattoo artist who worked with my husband (also a tattoo artist) and had been ordained online. Which makes the question of clergy allowing other procedures for minors very relevant -- would it be ok with you if your 12 year old daughter could get Tophat John's permission for a tattoo without asking you? I mean, he's clergy and all.
Posted by: Michelle Potter at March 9, 2007 7:04 PMI'm sorry, my husband just corrected me. I was thinking of Tiger John, he was an artist. Tophat John, who married my husband and his first wife, was only training to be a piercer. My husband also reminded me about our friend Jay Hova 4x4 (he had his name legally changed, I don't know what it was before) is legally ordained by the Church of the SubGenius. (http://www.subgenius.com/) And yes, that IS recognized by the state of Texas.
Posted by: Michelle Potter at March 9, 2007 7:14 PMThis is how I know you are not serious about your work. Your articles are utter dung, and you know it, because you have to resort (constantly) to making ridiculous and idiotic claims. You make the entire pro-life movement look terrible.
Most pro-lifers I know hate you. They ask me after reading your blog, "Why is that woman an idiot? She doesn't speak for me or most of the pro-lifers I know."
Maybe you should try to get more in touch with the pro-life movement, Jilly Bean. Maybe you should stop making utterly ridiculous posts. Then, maybe, someone will take you seriously.
Posted by: Ilana at March 10, 2007 10:51 AMIlana, I get this: You're obviously hostile toward me and think me ridiculous, and you want me to know everyone else you know agrees.
I don't get this: Despite the aforementioned, you appear compulsed to return to my site again and again to read my posts... only to proclaim them and me ridiculous... again and again.
I also don't get why you as an abortion apologist want to give me advise on how to be a better representative of the pro-life movement. Why bother?
Posted by: Jill Stanek at March 10, 2007 11:25 AMBecause, if you're going to do something, you should do it correctly, Jill. It disturbs me how poorly you reflect upon the pro-life movement. If I were to base my opinion of the pro-life movement on you entirely, I would say, "Wow, they are just a bunch of ignorant, psychotic idiots who have never seen what the real world is like." Do you really want people to think that about you and your movement, Jill?
If you're going to present yourself as a leader of a movement, you should at least try to be respectful of those who disagree with you. You are not. If you are going to present yourself as a leader of a movement, you should show that you take yourself and your work seriously. Your ridiculous articles are proof that you do not take yourself or your work seriously. So, again, why should anyone take you seriously, if you do not even take yourself seriously?
Posted by: Ilana at March 10, 2007 11:57 AM"Bwahaha. So this is just another example of how religion is a load of crap. Anyone off the street can become a clergyman? Nice."
Well, anyone can become a parent -- and that doesn't mean that parenthood is a load of crap. some parents are pretty lousy, just like some clergymen are pretty lousy. But that doesn't make the institution of parenthood -- or religion -- in general any the worse for it. If anything, it shows simply that people are abusive of social realities -- including freedom.
Posted by: rasqualHey,
Someone pointed out I was mentioned here.
I was ordained via the Church of the Subgenius.
Also, wasn't training to be a piercer, I played in a band that was close the owner of Instant Karma, a bar across the street and was a friend of your husband. At the time, i was only 18 when I performed the service and I'd never give permission for a minor to get a tattoo. :)
