New Stanek WND column: "The Forced Abortion Act"

wnd_logo.gif

Promoters call it the Freedom of Choice Act, which is actually true. If passed, it would retroactively and forever free the abortion industry to infinity and beyond from every "federal, state and local statute, ordinance, regulation, administrative order, decision, policy [and] practice," encumbering abortion in any way whatsoever.

Pro-aborts reintroduced FOCA immediately following the Supreme Court's April 18 decision upholding the Partial Birth Abortion Ban with expressions of financial panic not seen since the stock market crashed in 1929.....

Pro-lifers have aborted FOCA several times since the 1980s, but terrified pro-abortion politicians and abortion-industry thugs fearing for their deathlihood seized on the Supreme partial-birth abortion decision to attempt a do-over.

Public relations aficionados that they are, Planned Parenthood and other industry leeches reassured us in press statements they intended not just to rescue partial-birth abortion for America but also every other equally "seismic" and "grim" Supreme Court anti-abortion decision that might be made ever after....

Under FOCA, no abortion procedure could be touched with a 10-foot legal crochet hook.... This would have to include Everything Delivered But The Big Toe Abortions, which Sen. Barbara Boxer infamously refused to say should be illegal during an enlightening exchange with then-Sen. Rick Santorum on the Senate floor in 1999....

Comments:

Wow,

Barbara Boxer should come to this site...

Unbelievable. How can she say that she doesn't feel that she needs to define when a baby is actually considered born. The whole point is defining when a baby is "born".

Her answer the "baby is born when the baby is born"
is nothing less than what you'd expect from a person who believes in something so wrong that there is no justification for it.

And this is one of our leaders?

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 8:30 AM

How far have these Congressmen and Senators slid down that "slippery slope" of abortion toward infanticide? Is it right to kill a fully delivered child? Consider the exchange between Sen. Rick Santorum (R., Pa.) and Senator Russ Feingold (D., Wis.) during the Senate debate on whether to override Clinton's veto of the ban on partial birth abortions.

Sen. Santorum: "If that baby were delivered breech style and everything was delivered except for the head, and for some reason that that baby's head would slip out - that the baby was completely delivered - would it then still be up to the doctor and the mother to decide?"

Sen. Feingold: "The standard of saying it has to be a determination, by a doctor, of health of the mother, is a sufficient standard that would apply to that situation."

Sen. Santorum: "That doesn't answer the question. Let's assume the head is accidentally delivered. Would you allow the doctor to kill the baby?"

Senator Feingold: "That is a question that should be answered by a doctor, and by the woman who received the advice from the doctor."

These wonderful democrats, they're always for human rights ya know... no wonder why their called the Party of Death

Posted by: jasper Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 9:41 AM

Horror aside, I couldn't help but smile at the Spinal Tap nod. :)

Posted by: Lauren Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 9:53 AM

Why is it that evil goes immediately straight for the juglar while we complacently accept a bone that, after 15 years,
pretends to take us only a micrometer down the field?

Posted by: lesforlife Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 9:56 AM

Jasper, I find that I agree more with the Democrats than the Republicans on most issues. While I dont identify myself as belonging to a particular party, and I dont vote along party lines, I think that stereotyping people due to something as vague as their party preference is a mistake.

Posted by: SamanthaT at May 2, 2007 12:25 PM

SamanthaT,

I think you're missing the point, democrats have been the ones always blocking legislation protecting the unborn, time and time again.

Their record is terrible, most democrats have a "0" rating from the National Right to Life.

Posted by: jasper Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 1:27 PM

Jasper, I am simply saying that calling Democrats as a whole "pro-death" is the same as saying that all pro-lifers are Catholic. The majority may seem to be; however, I doubt that you have any examples of anti-abortion law in which the democratic representatives voted one hundred per cent against the passing of the bill. Similarly, Im certain that republicans have voted against the bill along with their democratic peers. Politics are politics and politicians work in politics. The governor of Massatusetts (?) comes to mind; isnt he the man who won his position as governor not once, but twice, on a pro-choice platform, and now as a presidential candidate has changed to pro-life?

Posted by: SamanthaT at May 2, 2007 2:00 PM

Ok Samatha: here's just 1 example

95% of rebulicans voted for the Partial Birth Abortion ban

32% of democrats voted for the Partial Birth Abortion Ban

If it was soley up to the democrats, there WOULD BE NO BAN OF PBA TODAY!!!

On March 13, 2003, the Senate passed the NRLC-backed Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act (S. 3), sponsored by Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), 64-33, Vote No. 51. The bill was supported by 48 Republicans and 16 Democrats. It was opposed by 3 Republicans, 29 Democrats, and 1 independent. The bill was sent to the House of Representatives.

Posted by: jasper Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 2:28 PM

Samanthat -

"isnt he the man who won his position as governor not once, but twice, on a pro-choice platform, and now as a presidential candidate has changed to pro-life?"

I would think you would be more understanding of a conversion. I believe you are talking about Mit Romney. And according to what I have read, he became pro-life while in office before being a pres candidate. He agreed to hear the pro-life argument, and he converted. Sound familiar?

Lauren -

"I couldn't help but smile at the Spinal Tap nod. :)"

Stonehedge!

Can you remember the name of the drummer?

Posted by: Valerie Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 2:33 PM

They are the party of Death, there is no doubt. From their judicial appointments (Ginsberg, Breyer), to their Senators and Reps, to their donation givers at Planned Parenthood, NARAL, ACLU.

Posted by: jasper Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 2:34 PM

Haha Stonehedge!

NO, I don't remember his name, only that he exploaded. We actually just watched this movie a few nights ago. We're big Christopher Guest fans (of course, like everyone else he's probably pro-choice...sigh*).

Posted by: Lauren Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 2:38 PM

Lauren

I think several exploaded actually.

Did you see Waiting for Guffman or Best in Show? I love those movies!

You are probably right on the Pro-choice thing.
Something tells me that he could write a movie about this blog and the wild conversations we've had. It would be bound to offend all involved.
Of course, we would all be laughing to hard to be offended. ;-)

Posted by: Valerie Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 3:34 PM

Haha yep, the drummers didn't have the best of luck. I seem to recall someone choking on the vomit of an unknown vomitter. Eww...

Yes, I've seen all of them. My favorite was probably Waiting for Guffman. It amazes me how versitlie an actor Christopher Guest is!

Haha I bet he could definitely do one on this. Of course, he'd have to "interview" some of the real loonies. :)

Posted by: Lauren Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 3:43 PM

I loved him in Princess Bride...

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 3:46 PM

Princess Bride!!!

Favorite book, favorite movie!

I loved Best in Show. I go to dog shows and such, and I can name who is who from that movie! He was 100% on the stereotypes.

oh... what is this blog about again? Can we change it to a Christopher Guest thing.

Posted by: Valerie Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 3:57 PM

How about "This is ABORTION BLOG" LOL!

Posted by: Lauren Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 4:08 PM

Don't forget the drummer died in a bizarre gardening accident...

I own Best in Show, although Waiting for Guffman is pretty friggin awesome. Recenlty my sister bought me a Mighty Wind, which is okay...Mitch and Mickey remind me of simon and garfunkel! Those two were practically lovers..

Posted by: prettyinpink Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 4:16 PM

Oh and Best in Show..I watch dog shows on TV and that commentator thing IS right on. There seems to be one commentator that knows what he is talking about, and one who is just kind of random and awkward.

Posted by: prettyinpink Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 4:17 PM

Cameron,

It's so nice to see you. bye-bye...

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 4:46 PM

Valerie, what I was getting at was that even tho he has changed his view on abortion, I dont think he has changed his party affiliation...?

Posted by: SamanthaT at May 2, 2007 5:19 PM

Ooooh, Christopher Guest...he's hysterical. I haven't seen "Waiting for Guffman" (though I will try to watch it this summer once finals are over).

However, I do absolutely love the "Princess Bride", it's one of my favorite movies. :D

It's really good...
Why is it called Kendra Noel? curious.

Isn't there an entertainment blog you folks can discuss
movies on, rather than hijacking a blog about life
and death issues?

Posted by: lesforlife Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 7:46 PM

Les, I appologize for hijacking the thread. I was just tickled at the Spinal Tap reference. Trust me, I am probably the most ardant defender of life you'll find.

As far as the FOCA goes, it's an atrocious law that would undermine everything that the pro-life community has accomplished. I pray fervently that it never comes to pass.

What is a psychopath?

A psychopath has no concerns for the feelings of others and a complete disregard for any sense of social obligation. They seem egocentric and lack insight of any sense of responsibility or consequence. Their emotions are thought to be superficial and shallow, if they exist at all. They are considered callous, manipulative, and incapable of forming lasting relationships, let alone showing any kind of meaningful love. They typically never perform any action unless they determine it can be beneficial for themselves.

Since psychopaths cause harm through their actions, it is assumed that they are not emotionally attached to the people they harm; however, according to the PCL-R Checklist, psychopaths are also careless in the way they treat themselves. They frequently fail to alter their behavior in a way that would prevent them from enduring future discomfort. Dr. Joseph Newman contends that the behavior displayed by psychopaths is the result of "an inability to process contextual cues." [22]

It is thought that any emotions which the primary psychopath exhibits are the fruits of watching and mimicking other people's emotions. They show poor impulse control and a low tolerance for frustration and aggression. They have no empathy, remorse, anxiety or guilt in relation to their behavior. In short, they truly are devoid of conscience. However, they understand that society expects them to behave in a conscientious manner, and therefore they mimic this behavior when it suits their needs.

Most studies of psychopaths have taken place among prison populations. This remains a limitation on its applicability to a general population but that has not prevented fiction writers from popularizing psychopaths in the movies.

Cleckley defined psychopathy thus:[23]

* 1. Superficial charm and above average intelligence.
* 2. Absence of delusions and other signs of irrational thinking.
* 3. Absence of nervousness or neurotic manifestations.
* 4. Unreliability.
* 5. Untruthfulness and insincerity.
* 6. Lack of remorse or shame.
* 7. Antisocial behavior without apparent compunction.
* 8. Poor judgment and failure to learn from experience.

* 9. Pathological egocentricity and incapacity to love.
* 10. General poverty in major affective reactions.
* 11. Specific loss of insight.
* 12. Unresponsiveness in general interpersonal relations.
* 13. Fantastic and uninviting behavior with drink, and sometimes without.
* 14. Suicide threats rarely carried out.
* 15. Sex life impersonal, trivial, and poorly integrated.
* 16. Failure to follow any life plan.

It has been shown that punishment and behavior modification techniques do not improve the behavior of a psychopath. They have been regularly observed to respond to both by becoming more cunning and hiding their behavior better. It has been suggested that traditional therapeutic approaches actually make them, if not worse, then far more adept at manipulating others and concealing their behavior. They are generally considered to be not only incurable but also untreatable.

Psychopaths also have a markedly distorted sense of the potential consequences of their actions, not only for others, but also for themselves. They do not, for example, deeply recognize the risk of being caught, disbelieved or injured as a result of their behaviour.

I just came across this and it reminded me of an argument that midnite brought up. She never got back to me...

But this so much seems to be the hardliners personality traits. scary, no?

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 8:01 PM

Wow, I have to say....

.......dead on!

Posted by: Bethany Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 9:18 PM

@MK: Ok, this will be the last off-topic comment on this thread but "Kendranoelle" is just a general penname I've always used...it's an amalgamation of two names that my parents were considering for me before I was born and I really liked those names so I always combine them together for my penname.

I'm glad you like my art. I hope I have time to do some more art this summer, I haven't drawn since Christmas break!

And I'm sorry you think I'm a psychopath. :(

Posted by: Rae Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 9:46 PM

Rae,

Why do you think I was talking to you?
I was responding to something midnite said awhile ago...

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 9:47 PM

Well it was up there, and it seemed as though it were directed at pro-choicers/pro-deathers in general.

I'm sorry for misunderstanding. Because sadly, some of those traits do fit me, though some of those things fit those who are depressed in general. :(

Posted by: Rae Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 9:52 PM

NO, NO,
this isn't about depression. This is about a lack of conscience. As long as you have one of those you don't fit the bill...Midnite, however, I worry about. Don't you?

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 9:53 PM

Rae, I am sorry that you get depressed. I wish there was something I could do to help.

And you really need to start drawing again! :) That's always very relaxing! :)

Posted by: Bethany Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 9:55 PM

Bethany: Ach, it's not your problem that you get depressed, it's in my genes. ^_^

MK: I don't worry about Midnite. I'm sure she has a conscience. Sometimes I feel like I have too much of a conscience at time...I often feel at fault for things that I have absolutely nothing to do with. I have major guilt issues >_

Posted by: Rae Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 9:59 PM

Why do you have so much guilt. What could you possibly have done? You're so young, and talented and brite! No way. Stop with the guilt. I like you. That has to mean something!
mk

And I believe you. If you say midnite has a conscience, I'll take your word for it.

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 10:03 PM

I just feel guilt for all the things in the world. I feel bad that I grew up fairly well off and that I had loving parents who care about me when there are kids in the world with parents who hate them or abuse them or parents that can barely afford paying the rent on their homes much less buy nice clothes or gifts for their children.

I feel guilty that I was able to get a decent education and that my parents are able to help me get through school when there are kids who barely get through high school and are 20 years old and can't read better than an 8-year old. I feel guilty that there are kids who can't afford college even with financial aid and even if they are gifted they can't go to school so they end up working at a dead-end job that they'll never get out of.

I feel I don't deserve all that I have and that it's unfair that I got so lucky.

Posted by: Rae Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 10:11 PM

Rae,

I don't personally know you or your situation, but I was trying to comment on the article, saw this, and thought I would comment on your thoughts instead.

I think it's okay to have what you call "too much of a conscience"- in fact, it's what makes some people very empathetic. If you feel guilty for things that other people do, my advice is to remind yourself that you, personally, cannot always control the actions of other people. If someone wants to act like an idiot or hurt someone, the best you can do is try to help (and that goes for people who are depressed too). I don't want to say that you should just 'let and let live' (because no one really believes in that- people question things all the time!), but it is important to remember that you are only human. It's okay to feel depressed- there's nothing wrong with feeling like that every so often, just don't let it take over your life.

Well, I don't know if that helps or if it's even remotely comforting, but I couldn't just read what you said and not say something...so I'm done.

Posted by: Leah at May 2, 2007 10:15 PM

Rae,

Maybe it wasn't luck. Maybe you were blessed. Maybe there is a meaning to your life that you just haven't discovered yet. And part of it was to make sure you got a good education so that you could share the wealth and your beauty.

My son with bi-polar just lost his job today. So I'm really sensitive to depression and the overwhelming feelings that can come over you. My 26 year old son cried while I held him.

But you just can't let the depression win. You're better than that. You're stronger than that. There is nothing, NOTHING, that you could ever do that is so terrible that it can't be forgiven so that you can start fresh. Every day if you have to.

In my son's AA program, the mantra is "Do the next right thing"

Not always do the right thing. Just do the "next" right thing. It gets you through.

Remember, we are always here for you. Always.
kay?

I have a great bumper sticker that says
"Feel guilty for no reason? You're Catholic."

I was raised properly, with a good dose of Catholic guilt ;)

Posted by: prettyinpink Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 10:41 PM

@PiP: That's what my dad always says. He says Catholicism is most excellent at laying on the guilt. My dad's a Methodist but he's been so whipped by my mom (as he's pretty non-opinionated about religion) he goes to church with her every Sunday, since they got married 25 years ago and he's never converted.

Posted by: Rae Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 10:44 PM

It's also most excellent at relieving it!

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 10:45 PM

Rae -

If you don't mind me asking, what are career field are you going into?

I'm asking because you could change your "guilt" into something amazing. Socail work, psychology, therapy, nursing, advocacy... The choices are endless.

Having alot of empathy can be a good thing if directed in the right way.

How are the meds going for ya?

I have just gotten off of the Effexor and I keep sweating up a storm! It is worse than when I had the hot flashes after the kids were born. I even went off of it slowly! aaahhhh!!! However, they did up the dose of the Welbutrin so that could be it too! ;-)

I love chemicals.....

Posted by: Valerie Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 10:49 PM

PIP - MK

Why didn't I get this 'Catholic Guilt' thing everyone is always talking about?

confuses me...

;-) I'm gonna have to start counting how many times I day I say I am confused. It should be a high number! ;-)

Posted by: Valerie Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 10:53 PM

@Valerie: I am actually planning on going into medicine to be a doctor. Now I don't want to be a "specialist" per se because I've always found specialists to be "cold" and they don't really try to get to know their patients that well, they see them and then send them on their way. I want to either be a general practitioner or a pediatrician but specialize(ish) in adolescents because I often feel that adolescents are given the raw deal with medical care because they are too old for a "kiddie doctor" but too young for an "adult doctor" you know?

Either that or I am planning to work in a hospital and do general care or intensive care work. I need a job with a lot of variety and patient interaction, I want to get to know my patients you know? I want to get to know them so I can help them feel better when they are feeling crummy.

I had originally considered going into psychology or oncology but I opted out of both because psychology is too imprecise for me and with my problems I probably wouldn't be any good! lol. I also considered oncology but then I thought about it and realized that most of my patients would die within 5 years and those odds just depress me too much so I opted not to.

As for my meds, I haven't gone off of them yet, I am still taking them. I am waiting for my finals to be over before I go in for a med-check to talk to my doctor about it. I also need to schedule my appointment with a new psychiatrist to discuss this as well. You get hot-flashes when you had withdrawal? I get these horrible dizzy feelings where you feel like you just got off a tilt-a-whirl only it's there for reason and it's constant! Blah!

Posted by: Rae Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 10:56 PM

Maybe you're just such a "good" girl, you had nothing to feel guilty about...

Or maybe you're the one without a conscience!LOL

Posted by: MK at May 2, 2007 10:56 PM

Valerie--trust me. When I'm backed in a corner sometimes I just go, "but....I feel bad.."

Then people give me a look, and say "what in the world do you have to feel bad about?"

That's when I say, "Oh, probably the Catholic guilt coming back to me!"

Posted by: prettyinpink Author Profile Page at May 2, 2007 11:02 PM

Rae -

Have you thought about going into Internal Medicine? I refuse to see a General practitioner anymore. I will only see Internal Medicine doctors because they seem to be more into the person and not the symptoms. Specializing in adolesence is a wonderful thing. You are right, i do think they get the raw deal.

So, you get dizzy spells huh? There are so many jokes there, but I'll be nice.

;-)

I get dizzy a lot too... but it is allergies for me. And a sign that my asthma is about to act up.

What kind of jokes about dizzy spells? I can take a joke. :-p

Aww Rae, none of those things are your fault. I'm sure you know that logically, but emotionally it's difficult to believe. But if these situations are bothering you, this may well be your calling in life.

Maybe you are the one who will start an organization to help the people you mentioned who have these particular needs. Maybe you will be the one to make a difference in hundreds or thousands of people's lives one day. You never know. Listen to your conscience. Even though it's not your fault that these people out there are suffering, your burden for them is undeniable. Maybe there is a reason that you feel that way, and maybe you can put your burden to use by beginning something wonderful to help these kinds of people out.

Valerie,

both dizziness and memory-loss are physical. Would ask you to go to an MD, but usually they haven't a clue about nutrition. An ND may help more. I will paste a blog below ... suspect that many, many young women are being severely influenced too.

"This is scary stuff folks. Having 5 eye surgeries is scary enough.
Was all the diet sodas I drank all these years a contributing factor?

I use Stevia, a natural herb-sweetner and herbal tea. Water, juice,
coffee (limited) but no longer suck down Diet...anything.

After reading all I have researched on this, and having no other
explanation other than "you're nearsighted" it's enough for me
to find other things to drink/eat than this addictive:

NO ONE TOLD ME that drinking diet sodas constantly could possibly be harmful. After all, they are sold in stores right? So are matches…

Many people today say their ophthalmologists have said they were going
blind but don’t know why, and diabetics in particular are thought to have
simple diabetic retinopathy. The methanol in aspartame converts to
formaldehyde in the retina of the eye. It causes retinal detachments,
blurring of the vision, double vision, floaters, flashes, black spots,
optic neuritis, tunnel vision, etc. Dr. H. J. Roberts on a radio program
recently said aspartame destroys the optic nerve.

Since we have had a hard time finding ophthalmologists that know and
can identify the problem I am providing Dr. Morgan Raiford’s fact sheet.
For every physician or ophthalmologist who has this information he can
save the lives of thousands. Many times if patients had been warned off
aspartame when they were first seen they would not be blind today. Even
if you don’t use aspartame (marketed as NutraSweet/Equal/Equal
Measure/Spoonful, and no telling what since the patent has expired)
please print this out and give it to your eye doctor and physician. When
Dr. Raiford wrote this NutraSweet was only in a few hundred products -
today its in 7000 products and climbing with an expired patent - in 90
countries of the world!

May 20, 1987: FACTS ABOUT ASPARTAME

The above product is also manufactured as NutraSweet. This pharmological
spin-off is as highly profitable item, with a growing market. These
products are used as a sweetener, some 200 times as sweet as regular cane
sugar.

This product has some highly toxic reactions in the human visual pathway
and we are beginning to observe the tragic damage to the OPTIC NERVE,
such as blindness, partial to total OPTIC NERVE ATROPHY. Once this
destructive process has developed there is no return of visual
restoration. We are beginning to see and observe another toxic reaction
which affects the central nervous system which is related to PHENYLALANINE
LEVELS IN THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM. These observations are more vague,
however, it stimulates the damaging to the brain and the central nervous
system, having the manifestations as PKU NEURO DAMAGE. Over 3000 cases
have been reported and the FDA to date has ignored this existence.
(Writers Note: Now over 10,000)

HUMAN VISUAL PATHWAY DAMAGE

The human visual pathway admits ninety percent of our intellectual input
to the brain and central nervous system. All of the learning processes
are centered during ones life time. The mechanism of this tragic damage
to the human visual system from this product is and has been known for
over a decade that visual loss takes place. When this drug enters the
digestive tract, largely the upper portion, this ASPARTAME molecule spins
off a by product known as METHANOL or METHYL-ALCOHOL. This product enters
the blood stream and when these portions reach the highly metabolic
region of the OPTIC NERVE AND RETINA, PARTIAL ATROPHY CAN AND DOES TAKE
PLACE. The vision can not do without oxygen and nutrition for more than
ninety seconds without revealing some damage. Total loss of vision is
present and there is no return. In the very early stages in which is
referred to as the “wet stage”, treatment can be given and will reserve
the destructive pathology to the OPTIC NERVE and RETINA. This must be in
the mind of the physician and he must understand the chemical ongoing
process. The writer has seen many cases where the patent was allowed to
go to the degrees of blindness, as this diagnosis of OPTIC NEURITIS was
rendered, as the term IDIOPATHIC NEURITIS OF OPTIC NERVE was given,
usually steroids until systemic gross body and facial moon developed.
This therapy has demonstrated the total lack of understanding of the
basic lack of BIO-CHEMICAL PHYSIOLOGY AT THE MOLECULAR LEVEL.

The variability or onset of the OPTIC NERVE ATROPHY is of a type that one
must first think of this pathology, and it requires a certain amount of
listening to the patient. The quantity of symptoms vary with each patient.

Over the past year the writer has observed the fact that any portion of
the central nervous system can and is affected. Since the chemical
PHENYLALANINE is mixed up with some metabolic mess, we have seen symptoms
of varying hue in the extremities, sensations of dullness of the
intellect, visual shadows, evidence of word structure reversing and some
hearing impairment is noted by the individual. This can and will in time
cause problems in learning. The medical community must alert itself that
we have a problem that has surfaced due to the factor of the drug
industry. Parents must be alerted to the side reactions of this toxic
product and its reactions.

Sincerely,
Morgan B. Raiford, M.D. D.Sc (Med) OPHTHALMOLOGY

We hope all reading this will take it very seriously. Almost 10 years
have past since Dr. Raiford wrote it and now we have an epidemic of
ASPARTAME DISEASE! The EPA, Dr. Gaylord, has already announced an
epidemic of MS at the World Environmental Conference where I lectured.
She said they didn’t know the toxic causing it. I explained its not MS
but methanol toxicity from aspartame which mimics MS and we realize it is
now epidemic.

Please get off this poison. It is triggering neurological diseases
because it changes the brain chemistry. It changes the dopamine level of
the brain. The phenylalanine lowers the seizure threshold in the brain
and blocks serotonin, so now we have epidemic manic depression, panic
attacks, etc. Seizures are rampant.

For more information on aspartame you can use our auto-responder. Simply
email me and put sendme help in the subject line like this:

Three women who said their eyesight was seriously damaged or destroyed
joined in the citizens’ petition to the FDA, which they asked “to
expeditiously remove [the] product from the market without an administrative
hearing.”

At a press conference called by the institute to announce the
imminent-hazard petition, two of the women told of heavy use of
aspartame-sweetened products and said their doctors had advised them the
sugar substitute was the cause of their sight loss.

The NutraSweet Co., of Skokie, Ill., a subsidiary of Searle & Co.,
brushed off the institute’s complaint as “simply another round in their
repeated efforts to gain publicity for their thoroughly discredited views on
aspartame.”

A Washington-based group called the International Food Information
Council said through its executive director, Thomas E. Stenzel, the
allegations “that aspartame causes various side effects are not based on any
scientific data or controlled clinical studies.”

James S. Turner, a Washington lawyer representing the Community
Nutrition Institute in the petition, said the eye damage to the women named
in the complaint was “a direct, causally related event to their consumption
of NutraSweet.”

Both heavy users

Both women, Dana Cozad of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Joyce Wilson of
Stockbridge, Ga., described themselves as heavy users of the sweetener.

Wilson, a real estate agent, said she no longer can take sales prospects
to see property because her vision does not permit her to drive.

“It has cost me a lot, and I really want the public to know what a
dangerous product it is,” Wilson said.

Cozad said that vision loss struck her suddenly in the right eye while
she was driving home and that lengthy surgery and other sight-saving efforts
followed.

She said vision is gone in that eye, and - after she has spent 13 months
on an aspartame-free diet - the condition of the left eye “remains relatively
stable.”

Both women said their physicians had ruled out causes other than
aspartame for their sight loss.

Methyl alcohol blamed

Dr. H. J. Roberts of West Palm Beach, Fla., said methyl alcohol is a
component of aspartame and is responsible for vision damage, which he termed
“the most serious complication” of those arising from aspartame use.

Aspartame, which is described as a “natural” product, contains two amino
acids, phenylalanine and aspartic acid, which are components of protein.
Under certain storage conditions, the sweetener breaks down in part and
methyl alcohol is a byproduct.

Roberts said the visual reaction to methyl alcohol in heavy users of
aspartame is the same as in drinkers of moonshine whiskey in Prohibition
days: “They go blind.”

Of 360 patients he has diagnosed as having aspartame-related problems,
Roberts said, about one-fourth had decreased vision or blindness, nearly half
had severe headaches and substantial numbers had epileptic seizures,
confusion or memory loss, extreme depression and marked personalit... "

Valerie, I am on Effexor and I think I sweat irregularly! It could just be the Georgia humidity, tho...

Sorry, first attempt at using the italics thing.

Samantha T.,Do you live in Georgia? I pass through there on my way to Fla. It's beautiful!

Posted by: Heather4life at May 3, 2007 10:53 AM

@John: Well I'm glad I don't drink that much pop (actually, I almost never do).

Posted by: Rae Author Profile Page at May 3, 2007 11:01 AM

Samantha -

One of the side effects of effexor is hot flashes. You might want to check that out. From what I've heard, it usually is worse if there is more than one controlling drug. Like taking Lexapro with effexor will make it worse. But that is only what I have heard.

John -

My sister's father-n-law is a food chemist and he says he wouldn't touch the stuff. He said you might as well shoot rat poison into your veins. I've stayed away from it ever since.

Heather, I live in the northern part where the mountains are, but I love the Okefenokee! It is close to the Florida line, and it is such a beautiful place to visit. I love the beach too, but it is six hours away...

I drink two cans of diet coke a day. I'm super addicted. If I didn't drink diet coke, where would I get my caffiene fix without blowing up like a balloon?

Jill, you wrote: "I'm having trouble comprehending how a population of 200 million in 1970 could render 1.2 million illegal abortions when a population of 300 million in 2006 rendered 1.3 million legal abortions. "

In 1970 the baby boom was younger, more sexually active, and more fertile.

Posted by: SoMG at May 3, 2007 2:01 PM

Samantha T. I believe I have passed through there. I-75 if I'm not mistaken.

Posted by: Heather4life at May 3, 2007 2:11 PM

SoMg,why were they more fertile in 1970?

Posted by: Heather4life at May 3, 2007 2:15 PM

Heather, because they were younger. Younger females are more fertile.

Posted by: SoMG at May 3, 2007 2:30 PM

This, by the way, is why abortion rates keep dropping in the USA. It has nothing to do with new right-to-life laws; it's because the females of the baby-boom generation are reaching menopause, and have already reached the lower-fertility years that occur before menopause.

Posted by: SoMG at May 3, 2007 2:33 PM

PiP,

apparently aspartame is itself one of the most addictive chemicals known. It also makes people crave carbohydrates. Insulin covert carbohydrates to fat. So eating/drinking aspartame increases weight gain. The people who went off aspartame lost an average, 19 pounds.

I just can't get around the idea that vision loss is permanent. I guess because the damage done is to the optic nerve and nerve cells (except the nerves for smell - olfactory bulb) do not regenerate ..........

Posted by: John McDonell Author Profile Page at May 3, 2007 3:05 PM

John, I heard that on the news about a month ago!

Posted by: Heather4life at May 3, 2007 3:10 PM

Sorry, was out of pocket yesterday and am just getting to comments.

Lauren, 5/2, 9:53a, said: "Horror aside, I couldn't help but smile at the Spinal Tap nod. :)"

Thanks, I see you read to the end! My favorite line was the "Everything Delivered but the Big Toe Abortions," which is sick, actually, because the other side would support it.

SOMG, let's see some official numbers, please.

Posted by: Jill Stanek Author Profile Page at May 3, 2007 4:51 PM

So, basically, it keeps the options for abortion open. It's not FORCED abortion, you idiot.

Posted by: Valgaav at May 3, 2007 5:52 PM

Jill, you can look up the official numbers on the aging of the baby-boom yourself. I'm not doing any more of your work for you.

Posted by: SoMG at May 3, 2007 6:19 PM

Haha

Good column. Curious how the pro-aborts worry about all the hazards of the back alley but they seem to miss stories like the fetus eater and that poor lady in Fla. Both those made me wretch.

Anyway, congratulations on making the banner on WND!

SOMG, you forget it was your advance to prop up, not mine. Unable to perform, are you? Poor boy.

Posted by: Jill Stanek Author Profile Page at May 3, 2007 6:32 PM

What, you don't believe the baby boom generation is older, less sexually active, and less fertile than it was in 1970?

Posted by: SoMG at May 3, 2007 6:37 PM

Didn't Jill used to work as a nurse? How can you be a nurse and not know about the aging of the baby boom?

Posted by: SoMG at May 3, 2007 6:51 PM

Oh, SMOGGY, word twisting is for simpletons. Come on, what's the matter with you tonight? You're slipping.

Posted by: Jill Stanek Author Profile Page at May 3, 2007 9:19 PM

SoMg is slipping. It all began when he couldn't find the proof that childbirth caused more damage to the cervix than abortion. It seems to be down hill ever since.

Posted by: Heather4life at May 4, 2007 6:14 AM

He could always lie like the rest of them...
Or maybe there just isn't such a big audience today...
Outnumbered SOMG?
No one to cheer you on?
Ohhh poor boy...

Mark K. You are so right. I haven't heard one ounce of outrage over the woman in New Jersey. This woman will have a colostomy bag for the rest of her life. She had to have her uterus removed, and God knows what other medical expenses. All because of these "competent abortionists" Christen Gilbert didn't receive one second of recognition from the Choice crowd. She died at the hands of Tiller and Carhart.
