Focus on the Family Applauds Decision to Replace Colorado Right to Life

Group looks forward to relationship with new affiliate

Colorado Springs, Colo. - Focus on the Family Senior Director of Issue Analysis Carrie Gordon Earll released the following statement in response to the decision by National Right to Life to replace Colorado Right to Life as its Colorado affiliate:

"Focus on the Family appreciates this swift action by the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC). As the nation's largest pro-life organization with affiliates in all fifty states, NRLC continues to be highly effective and respected in the national pro-life movement. It's reassuring to know that a group of such prominence is willing to make a tough decision when its charter is challenged by a rogue and divisive group, such as Colorado Right to Life (CORTL).

"In a misguided and misleading media campaign, CORTL, along with a handful of other groups, unjustly criticized Focus on the Family Founder and Chairman Dr. James Dobson based on a disagreement in strategy. Rather than use their money and energy to advance pro-life goals, CORTL chose instead to attack its allies in the cause. CORTL gave its parent organization no choice but to name a new state affiliate.

"We welcome Colorado Citizens for Life/Protecting Life Now - the new state affiliate - and look forward to a harmonious and successful relationship with this group.

"The strength of the pro-life movement is found in its unity on core principles, including taking every available step toward ending abortion in the United States. We're please to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with NRLC and its new Colorado affiliate as partners with the same vision for achieving these goals."

Ok, time for *us* to take out a newspaper ad that says

Dear Pro-lifers,

We are all fighting for the same thing. This divide is a weapon of the Enemy, and is serving only to hurt the pro=life movement. We must work together. If your desire is to save babies, stop fighting with those who share your goal. Yes, 33 years is a long time to wander in this horrible wilderness of killing. We understand that it is frustrating. We understand that we need to overhaul programs, and be innovative. This fighting, however, is not innovative, but damaging. Together we will win, but divided we are without hope. Those who are against life are overjoyed by this. That alone should raise flags large enough to see from the moon.

God Bless,

nice try cameron.

NRLC did the right thing. CORTL's criticism of Dr. Dobson and FOTF was unwarranted. The decision on Partial Birth Abortion was a step in the right direction towards the ultimate goal of ending abortion.

Was the "step in the right direction" worth 15 years and a quarter of a billion dollars in fundraising? Are we going to have to wait another 15 years and raise another quarter of a billion dollars for our next "step" which doesn't have the power to save ONE human life?

No, the Supreme Court's decision on the PBA Ban was completely worthless because it will not prevent the slaughter of even one baby.

AND NOT ONLY THAT!

Roughly $250 million was given to pro-life groups over the last 15 years to achieve this non-achievement!
