Typical

We've got a good mix of pro-lifers and "pro-choicers" on this site who engage in healthy debate that is unedited 99+% of the time. I admire those from the other side who dialogue here, even if we are 180 degrees apart.

Yet when pro-lifers attempt to broach pro-abort territory, we are commonly greeted with a block. And as for that territory, I frankly find pro-abort blogs for the most part inane and adolescent.

This is typical: Yesterday I spotlighted comments by pro-abort blogger JJ of Unrepentent Old Hippie, who said she doesn't want to hear, see, or speak about abortion with us. This is the classic definer of a closed, foolish, afraid mind.

Her response reproves my point, although it's a fun read....

Jill Stanek doesn't like me

and I'm sad.

You may be wondering, as I was, "Who the f*** is Jill Stanek?" Ms. Stanek is apparently a writer at USian website World Net Daily ("wingnut news you can use!!!"). She also does speaking engagements, so I guess she's well-know in those circles....

betty.jpgMy post yesterday about whether we should be talking to people doing anything as nutty as driving around in a fetusmobile is what got the propeller on Jill's beanie spinning at redline, and, kind of proving my point, she was driven by forces she couldn't control to blog about it. I went to have a look at her little screed and was greeted by the Betty Crocker visage of someone I assume to be Jill grinning vacantly out at me. Helloooooo Xanax. I flipped her the bird (so immature), scrolled til I found the Post in Question and gave it the once-over. Just the usual bleating and moaning and, for a change of pace, an accusation of "adolescent vocabulary":

"I myself was taken aback when reading JJ was 52, because her vocabulary and logic were that of an adolescent."

Ouch! Hahahahaha, come on now. Even SUZANNE humps my leg better than that. Trust me, nobody is more taken aback than I am to discover that I'm 52. That insult of nature alone is ample reason for a sharp increase in the obscenity index. And adolescent vocabulary notwithstanding, I notice that Jill's taken a liking to my word, "fetusmobile".

As icing on the Betty Crocker cake, JJ calls comments "barks."

JJ also decided to copyright the word "fetusmobile," and I'd be happy to honor that little symbol if someone can give me the html language for it.

© Jill, you just type "alt" and 0169 at the same time, then let go, and that will make the © sign. Or you can copy and paste it from the one I just posted here. :D

Anybody up for a full scale 30 day prayer assault on whatever's driving UOH and her friends?

Posted by: Christina at August 17, 2007 10:43 AM

It seems to me we're in danger of getting sidetracked here by focusing on the comments of UOH, singling her out rather than keeping to Jill's point about some pro-choicers' tendency to block discussion. Folks who are filled with anger are hurt. Folks who wield their intelligence much as sumo wrestlers throw their weight are acting from wounded pride. Christians especially ought to fight fire with water, hate with love, personal attacks with logical arguments, discord with peace. My two cents.

Brett my love, is that you?

Well if she is a "hippie" that means that she is old. And (sorry if I offend anyone here), but most old people I know are stubborn and hard headed (more so the older they get).

Brett, that's an excellent point, wounded pride. Why else would SOME of these pro choicers be so damn mean?

Posted by: Heather4life at August 17, 2007 11:59 AM

Heather, you must remember that not all of y'all are as sweet as sugar and spice at times either. That stick swings both ways...

True.

Well, at least there is one thing we can agree on :-)..

hahahaha

Ummm, what did she say? She makes no sense to me at all.

Who confuses you Rosie, me?

Bethany, the problem is with the html language. I could type the copyright sign as you suggested but via html it would turn out like gobbledygook on the home page.

Posted by: Jill Stanek at August 17, 2007 2:30 PM

In that case, I just created a little symbol, made it an image which you can embed into your post, beside the word, like this:

Fetusmobile

If you go into the "comments" section, in your administration account, you will see the coding I used to put it there. Hope this helps!

"Who confuses you Rosie, me?"

No, JJ does.

You can use the copyright symbol if you like, Jill, but you might like to know that single words can be copyrighted, they can only be trademarked.

Posted by: Michelle at August 18, 2007 9:12 AM

er, I meant "single words can NOT be copyrighted".

Posted by: Michelle at August 18, 2007 9:13 AM

Michelle, thanks! I was just wanting to humor JJ. I thought her copyright was funny. I think I've become a sicko. The yuckiest things strike me as funny any more.
