Weekend question

question mark 2.jpgPro-abort trailer park feminist thought my WorldNetDaily column this week, "Liberal misogynitis," was "silly."

One of several points I made to demonstrate that in reality, pro-aborts, not pro-lifers, are the misogynists, was their promotion of abortion - of which way more than half aborted are female - had caused such a gender imbalance in Asian and Third World countries that a sex slave trade crisis has emerged.

To that trailer park feminist responded:

In other words, women who abort their female fetuses rather than bringing them in to an extremely hostile, sexist world are responsible for their own sexist oppression! How convenient!

What do you think tpf meant by that statement?

Comments:

Not sure what she meant by that statement, it doesn't sound very convenient to me:)

Um, it seems she is sadly mistaken. Women who abort their female fetuses simply because they are female are not doing so for any sort of altrusitic reason.

They are doing so to fulfil the agenda of those who would rather a female be killed, than allowed to be born. By aborting the female fetus, they are giving power to those who wish to truly subjegate women. Killing those that a society disvalues is not an effective way to change minds.

Lessee -- Lots of people oppress women, so instead of killing THEM, we'll kill female fetuses so they won't have anybody to oppress! That'll fix it!

Got it.

Promoting abortion, of which way more than half being aborted are female, causing such a gender imbalance in Asian and Third World countries, where misogyny truly reigns, that a sex slave trade crisis has emerged.

TPF: "In other words, women who abort their female fetuses rather than bringing them in to an extremely hostile, sexist world are responsible for their own sexist oppression! How convenient! "

What do you think tpf meant by that statement?

Have to laugh - "Trailer Park Feminists." Not that people living in trailers are any certain way, but there's an intent there in the using of the term, and I probably don't even get it all.

Whether the unborn are female or male, we're still taking about them compared to thinking, feeling born people.

I would guess that TPF is noting that while there is indeed misogyny in parts of the world, giving birth to a female baby, or any baby, for that matter, is hardly any sure solution or even any solution at all. The pre-existing valuation of women in some societies is what lies behind the preference for male kids. It's putting the cart before the horse to imply that abortion somehow "caused" it.

Jill,

I believe by that statement she didn't have any disagreement with gender specific abortions. But you were correct, as I work with many Chinese and Indian people and they have expressed these concerns...and it's true:
......

"‘Missing girls’
From a relatively normal ratio of 108.5 boys to 100 girls in the early 80s, the male surplus progressively rose to 111 in 1990, 116 in 2000, and is now is close to 120 boys for each 100 girls at the present time, according to a Chinese think-tank report.

"In eight to 10 years, we will have something like 40 to 60 million missing women," he said, adding that it will have "enormous implications" for China's prostitution industry and human trafficking.

The shortage of women is creating a "huge societal issue,” warned U.N. resident coordinator Khalid Malik earlier this year.

for the leftist feminists...abortion is their Holiest sacrament.
