Will Aurora eject Planned Parenthood from the premises today?

Planned Parenthood Aurora is conducting business at its Aurora address. Here is its contact info, lifted today from its website (click to enlarge):

UPDATE, 9/24, 7:55a:: The PP Aurora website is still listing its Aurora address as its business contact....

In a September 19 letter from Aurora attorney Alayne Weingartz, responding to Aurora attorney Vince Tessitore's previous day's demand that the city bar Planned Parenthood Aurora from the premises upon the September 17 expiration of its temporary occupancy permit, she wrote:

While this matter is pending before Judge Norgle we will maintain the status quo as to the occupancy of this site until the hearing tomorrow, September 20, 2007.

Well, it is now the morning after, and PP lost its motion in federal court to open for business before Aurora completed its investigation of PP fraud.

Tessitore shot off another letter to Weingartz yesterday afternoon (see it below) stating:

... the current legal status quo is that occupany of the subject property is unlawful. This is true whether that occupany be the conducting of business or any other physical presence within the building.

But the Daily Herald reported this morning:

Steve Trombley, CEO and president of Planned Parenthood, said his staff is training and unpacking.

City spokesman Carie Anne Ergo said clinic leaders are allowed inside under a "prestock" approval given by the city's building department on Aug. 10.

Such approval, which won't expire "at this time," allows businesses to pre-stock shelves so they're ready to open, she said. It's what allowed people inside before the clinic was given a temporary occupancy permit on Sept. 16.

A letter was sent to clinic officials Thursday from the city warning them any activity must be limited to training and equipment setup.

City inspectors have been sent out to ensure the clinic is not seeing patients, Ergo said.

Tessitore told me late last night two newspapers calling for comment had repeated that Ergo line to him. He responded, "PP has stated in open court that they are ready to open for business and everything is done. Therefore, they have no reason to be in the building. Since they were complaining about wanting to be open, they're done moving things in."

Indeed, the Associated Press reported this morning:

The $7.5 million building stands finished but empty. It was supposed to open Tuesday....

By its own claims, PP Aurora stands ready to open, and it is actually soliciting business to the clinic address and phone number as well as soliciting business (see left side of contact page) to spite the very city not enforcing the law to eject it.

After all PP has done to it, Aurora officlals apparently still don't get they're dealing with a vicious, ruthless organization that will never, ever reciprocate benevolence or any demonstration of trepidation whatsoever. PP only sees such as a sign of weakness and will take full advantage of it.

Comments:

I wonder if one of us calls the clinic, if we can make an appointment - which would be a clear indicator that they are conducting business?

Is there a local who can call them up?

I put this into God's hands. It's not opening.

Milehimama,

Now that would be interesting. It would have to be taped of course. I wonder what the legal ramifications would be?

Posted by: mk at September 21, 2007 8:15 AM

Well, it is illegal to tape a conversation in IL without all parties consenting. Maybe an email that could be tracked to a specific IP?

From Planned Parenthood Aurora's website...

Official Statements from Planned Parenthood

Statement of Steve Trombley
President and CEO, Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area
September 20, 2007

Today’s ruling by Judge Norgle means that Planned Parenthood will be back in court to present additional material, facts and information that substantiate our request for an injunction to open our Aurora Health Center. Unfortunately today’s ruling means that, yet again, we will have to reschedule appointments for our patients.

Our main concern is that every day our health center is not open, more women go without pap tests, birth control supplies and breast exams. These are critical services that this community has been lacking and that we will provide.

And you accuse US of playing on emotions and being overly dramatic? PUHLEASE!

So, since it's sooooo urgent, why hasn't PP rented a van or something to transport the patients who had appointments at the Aurora clinic to one of their other clinics to fill their dire needs?

Posted by: Milehimama at September 21, 2007 8:49 AM

I love how you think milehimama!

MK, 8:41am post

Gag me. So up until now the women of Aurora and surrounding areas have been totally clueless about their health needs, as well as completely incapable of obtaining needed health care or figuring out for themselves where to get it.
So why did PP have to pull legal shenanigans to get their clinic built? You'd think the people of Aurora would have a parade to welcome them.

MK,

This reminds of when the Hyde Amendment went into effect, cutting off medicaid funding of abortion. You should have heard the howling, chest pounding, and Cassandras wailing about imminent doom. There wasn't a lot of concern for the fact women were poor, only that they couldn't have abortions at taxpayer expense. Somehow abortion was seen as the great equalizer between the rich and poor. The abortion industry was going to see a source of revenue dry up.
All these prophecies of doom never came to pass.

How interesting that on the website of one abortion clinic, they offer two standards of care. One for those who can pay, and another for those who can pay a lot more. The woman who can pay more doesn't have to sit in the lobby with the peasantry and has her privacy better protected. The low income woman who would like the same protection of her privacy but can't cough up the extra cash is just, well, SOL. So much for concern for the poor.

Which clinic is that, Mary?

It was located in Alabama and I think it may have since closed. It was called the New Woman, All Women. I know it was under investigation at one point but its been a while since I visited the site.

to Mary and anyone else interested,

I am familiar with New Woman All Women; I have friends who regularly pray, picket and offer real help to the people they see going in, and I join them on Saturday mornings whenever I am in the Birmingham area; and I have referred for legal counsel the bereaved friend of one of NWAW's maternal victims.

NWAW is still open; the only time they have ever closed was a brief closure for the investigation, propaganda campaign & facelift following the Jan. 1998 bombing there by Eric Rudolph. They have been under probation by the state health department for about the last year or so, but I believe that period has just ended.

The last Birmingham area death mill to close was National Abortion Federation member “clinic” Summit Medical Center. Scummit, as it was justly called by those who had rescued, prayed, picketed, and sidewalk counseled there, was closed permanently by the Alabama State Health Department about a year or two ago. With no doctor present, employees at Scummit tried to administer an RU-486 abortion to a woman who was in her late second or early third trimester of pregnancy. (7 weeks is the latest RU-486 is to be administered, according to child-killing protocol.) The victim of this malpractice wound up driving herself to the emergency room with the macerated head of her still-born baby protruding from her vagina. She sued, the State Health Department got involved, and Scummit, mercifully, is no more.

And not a minute too soon; they had already slaughtered thousands of innocent babies and injured many of their mothers; and I understand that in November of 2003, a 34-year old woman named Leigh Ann Alford hemorrhaged to death within about 12 hours of the “safe, legal” murder of her 4th child via induced abortion at Scummit. She had suffered a uterine perforation (this is one of the most common, and most deadly, medically recognized risks of surgically induced abortion) and was hemorrhaging internally. She went home, where her temperature plummeted to 94. Her husband, seeing that she was not at all well, called Scummit to tell them of her condition and inquire as to what he should do for her. He was told what abortion profiteers typically tell anyone about any post-abortion complaint; that this was normal, she’d be fine in a day or two. Wisely, he did not heed them and called an ambulance to take her to the E.R. Unfortunately, this was too little too late; this young mother of 3 perished in the ambulance en route to the E.R.

Dianne Derzis, who currently co-owns NWAW, was the director of Scummit when that hellhole was sued for $2 million after perforating another woman’s uterus and pulling her bowel out through her vagina. (They had miscalculated, or misrepresented, the gestational age of that baby, too, and tried to do a suction abortion on a late-term baby). For some years, Dianne employed an elderly abortionist (now deceased) with failing eyesight and hands that shook with tremors (he had Parkinson’s disease). One woman, who had an abortion at Scummit while Dianne was running it, told me that she had changed her mind just before the abortion began and begged the killer not to go through with it (this happens much more frequently than the “choice” crowd cares to acknowledge, let alone admit). Instead of respecting her choice (!), he told her it was too late (not true; laminaria had been inserted and the cervix dilated, but laminaria can be removed by a competent physician, allowing the pregnancy to continue with no harm to the mother), and not only killed her child, but added insult to injury by dangling the baby’s body parts in his/her mother’s face as he removed them, identifying them in a singsongy voice; “Here’s a little arm, and here’s a little leg”, etc.

I have read NWAW’s website and, in addition to offering different “classes” of child-murder for higher fees, they also lie to women and slander the prolifers who actually care about the babies and their mothers scheduled to die there. NWAW also has a history of injured women, some of whom have died or nearly died. Dianne’s partner, Dr. Patrick Smith, has also been sued twice for abortions he performed for Birmingham’s Planned Parenthood death center. One of these women was forced to undergo an abortion procedure against her will (again, so much for “choice”) and it was later determined that she had not even been pregnant. The other sustained serious injury.

But the NWAW website “warns” women not to cross the 25’ buffer zone to talk to any prolifers who may be present; this, they are told, is ‘for your own safety’, despite the fact that NWAW has injured dozens of women and killed thousands of babies and some women, while the individuals who constitute the prolife presence on that block have killed, and injured, noone. NWAW, of course, blames us for the Eric Rudolph’s ’98 bombing, but there is not a shred of evidence connecting any of us to that incident. But they will not face the violence that they continue to perpetrate daily against the little boys and girls who, every week, have NWAW’s lack of morality cruelly, unjustly, and fatally imposed upon them.

Pat,

Thank you for a very interesting and informative post, and for what you do on behalf of the pro-life cause. As for the accusations that pro-life demonstrators had something to do with the 1998 bombing, I understand demonstrators were across the street when the bomb went off. Come on now, would anyone capable of devising and planting a bomb actually be within striking distance when it went off? If you want to keep me far away from someplace, just tell me there's a bomb.

I understand pro-life "rhetoric" has been blamed for "inducing" violence and bombings. Southern segregationists blamed civil rights "rhetoric" for opposition to and demonstrations against segregation.
Everything would be just fine if only certain people would shut their mouths!

Posted by: Mary at September 21, 2007 11:24 AM

Mary,

"One bright morning in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords, and shot one another!
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came and shot the two dead boys;
If you don't think my story's true,
Ask the blind peddlar-he saw it, too!"

Actually, there was ONE pro-life demonstrator present when the bomb went off at NWAW and of course, he was straightaway handcuffed and taken into custody, just so law enforcement and the media could show Joe Q. Public how on the ball they all were, despite the obvious problem you stated; why would anyone who expected a bomb to go off be in harm's way? That demonstrator wept when he learned that Officer Sandy Sanders, with whom he had shared the gospel and passed a lot of time and pleasant, if confrontational, conversation, had been killed by the blast. Had Sanders stuck to protecting and serving the innocent, as he was sworn to do, he would probably still be alive today.

Additionally, that protestor really is legally blind(not from the bombing, but from another eye problem that he has had for decades)...yet was detained for 6 hours as an eyewitness!!! How boneheaded is that?! No wonder it took 5 years for the feds to catch Rudolph and even then, a local cop just happened to be in the right place at the right time to expedite a tired Rudolph's transfer from the wild life of a fugitive to that of the imprisoned ward of the state.

Pro-aborts (and slaveholders were the same)are constantly projecting their own sins/faults onto their opponents. That is because there are really, at base, only two ways to handle one's own guilt. The mature, constructive way is to confess and repent of the sin but that avenue does not appear open to those who have rejected God so they invariably take the immature, destructive path of denial, self-justification, projection/transference, etc.

The prolife regulars at NWAW relate that they have witnessed (and witnessed to) a constant stream of employee turnover there; and even those who sometimes act as deathscorts there turn over frequently, as well, with the exception of a couple of middle-aged, diehard feminazi types. This fits the self-justification pattern; every woman they drag into harm's way affirms, to them, their own decision to kill their own child. Years ago, I had a most remarkable encounter with an older (60-70ish)deathscort at a Planned Parenthood killing chamber. My sidewalk partner that morning had been loudly warning PP's prospective quarry of the huge burden of grief and guilt carried by most post-abortive women, which drives so many of them to suicide attempts and other self-destructive activities. This deathscort tried to discredit him by saying that she had had an abortion as a young woman, and had never experienced the guilt or grief of which he spoke. I asked her if that were the case, why was it so important to her, several decades later, to come down to PP week after week, day after day, and drag young women she didn't even know, and their innocent children, into a web of deceit, destruction and death, if it was not to justify to herself her own murder of her own child? I then asked her would it not be more mature, more constructive, and better for all concerned, for her to confess her sin to God, repent of all her involvement in the murder of little children, and ask His forgiveness and amend her own life, and spare the lives of others, in the process? I will never forget her reaction. She looked at me like a startled, menacing, deer-in-the-headlights. It was the most terrified, evil look I have ever seen. She got up and went inside PP, and I could see her peering out at me, same look, through the narrow window beside the front door...eventually we all left; and we never saw here there again after that.

Birmingham's sidewalk activist community, like such groups everywhere, could use more folks; but they are blessed with a couple of warhorses who seem be fairly good at getting the younger deathscorts, esp., to face and deal with the entailments of the proabort mantras they come out to spout at us all; this is perhaps why these kids don't usually last much longer than a semester or two if that long...

Oh, and speaking of the "first-class" quality health care offered at NWAW, the "more private" option consisted of the women entering and leaving through the back alley (literally!) exit of the mill, which is virtually within sight of the front door of the place. Not unlike the proverbial emperor's finer, more expensive new clothes.

One young woman, probably in her mid to late teen years, was observed to start throwing up as she was getting into her mother's car at the "private" (read, PLAINLY visible from the street) side of the building. The staffer who was escorting the girl to the car, Tracy Culwell, went back into the mill, brought out a trash bag, handed it to the girl to use as a barf bag, shut the door of the car, and waved them off.

NAUSEA/VOMITING, EXCESSIVE BLEEDING, ELEVATED TEMPERATURE (OR A DROP IN TEMPERATURE OF MORE THAN ONE OR TWO DEGREES), OR SEVERE PAIN CAN INDICATE SERIOUS COMPLICATIONS WHICH CAN BE LIFE-THREATENING IF THEY DO NOT RECEIVE IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. IF IN DOUBT, DON'T WAIT; SEE YOUR DOCTOR OR NEAREST E.R. IMMEDIATELY.

ABORTION MAY BE LEGAL BUT MALPRACTICE, FRAUD AND INJURY ARE NOT; CONSENT DOES NOT EXCUSE MALPRACTICE. IF INJURED, CALL 1-888-9WOMENS FOR LEGAL HELP.

Any competent healthcare provider would have examined/monitored this young woman for such injury/damages; but abortion profiteers are not competent, or even legitimate, healthcare providers, but contract killers; so with them it's "wham, bam, thank you ma'am"; keep her in the dark until the blood money's in the bank, and then drop her like a hot potato, in order to distance yourself as far as possible from any responsibility for her injuries...not unlike many of the fathers of the abortionist's unborn victims.

"Tormented with the anguish dread of [evil] unatoned/ I lay upon my sleepless bed and tossed and turned and groaned;// A man who finds his conscience ache no peace at all enjoys/ And as I lay in bed awake, I thought I heard a noise..." (Gilbert & Sullivan, "The Pirates of Penzance")

Many proaborts, especially "clinic" workers, are tormented by imaginary sounds of children crying, sometimes laughing, which I'm told is even more excruciating; nightmares of being chased by children with no faces, sometimes bleeding, etc., as do many post-abortive women.
(Another interesting incident involving Tracy Culwell and a Birmingham prolifer may shed some light on this: they crossed paths in a thrift store one Saturday afternoon shortly after both had left NWAW. The prolifer made a very discreet remark to Tracy concerning some lewd behavior of Tracy's that this prolifer found degrading to women. Nothing was mentioned about Tracy's involvement in child-murder; yet Tracy had this woman arrested, claiming that she had shouted out all over the store that Tracy killed babies, and that that was wrong! If that was what Tracy heard, and the prolifer had not said anything about it, and I believe that she didn't, then what was left of Tracy's conscience must've been asserting itself with unusual vigor! Or else it had completely died, and she was just lying because proaborts typically lie about prolifers.)

Be that as it may, the reason why the employee turnover is so high is that most employees either become so hardened that they get nasty to the women and get fired; or, if they retain any kind of functioning conscience, they quit and find other work. There is also no honor among thieves, and less among killers. There is a lot of drug abuse, too. A former director at NWAW was fired and, I understand, found guilty of illegal use & distribution of prescription drugs. This was about a year ago, I think. I'm told by other former abortion profiteers that it's not unusual at all.

As to their alleged concern for the poor, their clients usually drive much nicer vehicles than some of their employees. I'm told that it's common to see cars sporting wheel rims that cost more than it would to pay for the cost of carrying to term and delivering the baby. The wheel rims could be replaced, the baby cannot.
Most of their clientele, from what I've been able to observe, suffers more from social, spiritual poverty than material. And many of them refuse pro-life offers of material assistance, which would seem to belie their claim that financial distress requires the blood of their child. I don't think money is usually that much of a factor; if it's a first pregnancy, especially, and unexpected, then the girl feels that her life has spun out of control, and wants the sense of control back; she does not want to move the boundaries of her comfort zone. Ironically, one "exit poll" of post-abortive women indicated that their abortion did not restore to them any sense of control over their lives; how could it? How would being placed at the mercy/disposal of a mercenary serial killer make you feel more in control of your life?! But sweet reason doesn't rule at the death camps; rational thinking is suspended/suppressed along with natural affection.

I've heard of women complaining of rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, cruel, calloused treatment ranging from crude, lewd abusive remarks to rape/sexual assault and beyond at the hands of abortionists and this is not surprising; but I do find it amazing that they are usually honestly surprised by it. I mean, think about it: they expect fairness from monsters who execute innocent children, kindness from fiends who rip children limb from limb, compassion from the cream of the cruelest crap of the medical profession. This is insane!

But you get the picture...thanks carder and Pat, more later, all!

I was at PP's baby killing center in Aurora on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, the day they had no legal right to occupy that ugly death center.

I observed many PP staffers going in and out of the building ALL DAY LONG. They had their little "party" outside in the late afternoon, early evening. Even good 'ol Stevie Tromblie was there.

It is clear PP had no regard for either local laws, state laws, federal laws, and most importanty, God's laws, as well as the natural law.

The city council of Aurora, the mayor, Alayne Weingartz of the Building and Permits department, are all a bunch of cowards. And they are bullies to us at the same time, through the Aurora Police Dept., who I realize are only doing their job, but are taking orders from the mayor and the city.

Thank God for Vince Tessitore, and all others who are watching all of this.

Aurora, remember also,

Pat and Carder,

I just returned from a professional conference and was shocked to hear that in the early days of legal abortion, medical students were permitted to perform abortions as a way to earn extra money. These students needed no supervision and were given minimal training. I have to wonder how many women were aware of this appallingly substandard and dangerous "care" that was deemed perfectly acceptable for them. Were these medical students prepared to handle emergencies? In fact around 30 years ago in Chicago an undercover investigation exposed appalling practices in abortion clinics that stood in some of the most fashionable neighborhoods in Chicago. It was discovered that unqualified doctors, many of them "moonlighting novices" from the local medical schools were working in these clinics so as to make money hand over fist. Everything in the clinics was done on the basis that time is money and money is the name of the game.
It would be unheard of for medical students to remove tonsils or deliver babies for extra money, or without the proper training and supervision.
I remember the old stories about medical school dropouts performing illegal abortions. Apparently standards didn't change much when abortion became legal.

Posted by: Mary at September 23, 2007 4:44 PM

Thanks for sharing; I had not heard this one, but it doesn't surprise me, and, no, standards have not changed. One abortionist in the Birmingham area some years ago was especially notorious for butchering women. He was eventually relieved of his "duties" by the state medical board, and the assistant who finally blew the whistle on him reported, among other things, that she would often come to work and find him passed out, naked, in his own vomit (He was a heavy drinker and drug user, which I understand from others who have worked in death mills that this is not uncommon). She also reported that she was actually performing some of the abortions herself, even though she did not have any kind of medical license/degree. They really are the cream of the crap of the medical profession...IF they even have any real training in it.

I've also heard of pro-abortion groups trying to pass laws that would not require a medical license or degree in order to perform abortions.
It's sort of the flip side of PP, in the last year or two, getting either Yale or Harvard medical school to require hands-on abortion training in order for an ob-gyn student to graduate. Nothing like turning the medical profession into a cult requiring human sacrifice as an initiation rite, turning the doctors into killers, like the Nazis.

What never ceases to amaze me is the credulity with which people actually buy the "safe & legal" mantra - as though a legal document could, in and of itself, make any activity more or less dangerous; as though a stroke of a judge's pen could remove the consequences of ignoring the law of gravity, etc. That is truly dumber than the proverbial post. The only thing that has ever made induced abortion somewhat safer for the mother involved was the discovery of antibiotics. This somewhat reduced the risk of infection; however, infection is but one of dozens of medically recognized physical risks of induced abortion, and women still die from infections from legal (and illegal) abortions.

There is a great deal of well-researched, documented information on this at
http://realchoice.0catch.com/collateraldamage.htm

God never intended for preborn babies to be killed, and the female reproductive system was designed to physically correspond to His intention of an inalienable right to innocent life. As countless post-abortion women can attest, that system is quite unforgiving of shabby treatment, especially violent assault. Then there is, of course, the growing number who cannot attest to this themselves, since they are dead, so their survivors, or the prolife community, must do their attesting for them.

They don't really want self-policing; they want self-serving policies, and it's always the woman who pays. Ironic, isn't it, that this is supported by people who claim to be such paragons of women's rights?

Civilized people do not regulate death camps anyway; they close them.

Pat,

Thank you for yet another excellent post. I love some of your terms, "Scummit" and "cream of the crap".
I can't imagine where we ever got the very stupid and naive notion that legalizing any criminal act puts the criminal element out of business. All too often we only make it safer and easier for them to continue what they're doing.
Women were promised "safe, legal" care by qualified physicians and nursing staff, not second rate care from "moonlighting novices" and staff that's hired off the street. I was appalled to read that non-credentialled staff at Tiller's clinic actually supervise the care of patients in hotel rooms and administer medications. Doesn't that state have a Health Department or a Licensing and Regulation Board?
The veterinarian you take your dog to must meet stricter standards.
Yet as you point out, so-called supporters of women push for lesser standards, not better ones, their argument being that meeting the same standards that your veterinarian must is somehow infringing on a woman's ability to have an abortion. Do strict state standards infringe on our ability to eat at a restaurant or get our hair done? Aren't these the very people you think would demand only the highest standards?
About requiring medical students to do abortions, aren't these the people preaching "freedom of choice" and "freedom of conscience"? To me this is just a sign of their desperation. If they want more abortionists then why don't they go to medical school? Also, if the American people and doctors so overwhelmingly support abortion, what's the problem?
Quite honestly Pat, I've encountered doctors who, while supporting abortion, will under no circumstances do it themselves. They consider it beneath them. Legal or not, its looked down on.
People will argue that women who are desperate will mutilate or kill themselves attempting to abort. I respond that people who are desperate to commit suicide will also mutilate as well as at times successfully kill themselves and use some pretty horrific methods to do so. I've seen people blow off their faces, a man blind and paralyze himself after shooting himself in the head, and the sister of a co-worker confined to a county hospital with permanent brain damage after an attempted suicide by drug overdose, and a young woman who, after taking a tyelenol overdose to scare her boyfriend, was told her liver would begin failing within 20 years. Do we hear any outcry over this? I don't imagine its cheap to provide these people with the care they will need for the rest of their lives either. People do terrible things to themselves for any number of reasons, but that doesn't mean we provide them with a "safe" and "effective" method of doing so.
Again Pat I thank you for your dedication and your excellent posts. They are very informative.
