The Embryonic Jesus Story

embryo.jpg

There is a fascinating incident the Bible describes near the beginning of Jesus' human life, several months prior. It is the Embryonic Jesus Story.

Luke 1 tells about the first person besides Jesus' mother and earthly father who recognized He was extraordinary - Jesus' cousin John, while John was yet a fetus, and Jesus was but an embryo.

When John was a preborn 6-month-old, his Aunt Mary came to visit John's expectant mother Elizabeth, her cousin. Mary was newly pregnant with Jesus.

Luke 1:41 says when Mary greeted Elizabeth, John kicked. Elizabeth told Mary, "The instant I heard your voice, my baby moved in me for joy!"

Elizabeth then prophesied, "You are the most blessed of all women, and blessed is the child that you will have. I feel blessed that the mother of my Lord is visiting me."

John was later known as John the Baptist. Jesus said John and his role were foreseen in Malachi 3:1: "I am sending my messenger ahead of you to prepare the way in front of you."

Amazingly, John began preparing the way for Jesus at the tender age of six fetal months....

Laura,

Very unlikely. Elizabeth was 6 months(or about 24 weeks) pregnant. Take a look at the video below:

Does that look like a gas?

Oh I used to love when my babies did that. It is so cool.
Thanks for the video, Vlad.

Merry Christmas, Jill and those who celebrate Jesus' birthday.

One tiny correction: Elizabeth, John's mother, was actually Mary's mother's cousin. So, John and Jesus were like 2nd cousins. :)

Dear Jill,
Here is a book of meditations about the Unborn Jesus. It's a beautiful book:

It quotes from Scripture and also writings from other Christians.

Merry Christmas!

Hey Jill,
On the subject of the preborn in the Bible, you might also be interested in Judges chapter 13. (Samson)
Jud 13:3-5(New King James Version)

And the Angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, “Indeed now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and bear a son. 4 Now therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean. 5 For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”

Merry Christmas! May you be filled with His joy.

Albuquerque authorities investigate fires at abortion clinics
The Associated Press
Article Launched: 12/25/2007 06:35:16 PM MST

ALBUQUERQUE—Authorities are investigating suspicious incidents at two separate Albuquerque Planned Parenthood locations.
Firefighters were called out early Christmas morning to Planned Parenthood's medical offices in the northeast part of the city. The roof was on fire, but crews were able to extinguish the flames in minutes.

Firefighters and police also responded to smoke at another Planned Parenthood office hours earlier.

Authorities say damage at both clinics was minimal. They're now searching for evidence to determine whether the fires were set on purpose.

Just weeks ago, arson destroyed the exam room at Abortion Acceptance of Albuquerque. Federal investigators say two hooded figures were seen outside that clinic just before the fire was reported, but no arrests have been made.

PP should really stop performing Satanic rituals on their rooftops - it's quite the fire hazard!

Let's be nice, everyone. 'Tis Christmas. And perhaps we would do well to remember the words of Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge:

I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all year.

Let's be nice tomorrow... and the next day.... and the next day... etc.

I hope everyone who celebrates this holiday had a wonderful one. I did. And I know that I am very blessed to be surrounded my the kind and loving people I have been fortunate to spend my years with. This was my last Chirstmas at home because in three weeks I will be leaving for Canada. We'll see where my path leads me after that.

May life and love bless every person on this site and in the world. May everyone remember that despite our disagreements we are all people and we are all equals. Namaste.

Remember: LOVE NEVER FAILS (1st Corinthians 14:1... the first half of 14:1, at any rate)

Interesting: "Blessed is the child you WILL have". NOT: "Blessed is the child you already have."

Conclusion: In the speaker's opinion, it's not a child until after it is born.

Interesting: "Blessed is the child you WILL have". NOT: "Blessed is the child you already have."
Conclusion: In the speaker's opinion, it's not a child until after it is born.

Actually, the version in Jill's article, although close to the original, is not close enough for me.

In the King James it reads: " And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. 41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

In the Geneva 1599 bible, it reads:

1:42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed [art] thou among women, and p blessed [is] the fruit of thy womb.

"child that you will have" as opposed to "fruit of the womb" is a later translation of the Bible's words, that I do not agree with...those very few simple changes alter the meaning of the context greatly!

"Fruit" (from Fruit of thy womb) is translated from the Hebrew word, Karpos, which means:
the fruit of one's loins, i.e. his progeny, his posterity

Fruit of the womb includes every person, in the womb or not.

Posted by: Bethany at December 26, 2007 12:43 AM

Also, notice the present tense "is", in "blessed is,/i> the fruit of thy womb." It does not say "blessed will be" the fruit of thy womb.

Posted by: Bethany at December 26, 2007 1:41 AM

Bethany,

The "Hail Mary", that "Catholic" prayer that we say over and over in the rosary, is actually the reading that you posted...

"Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord IS (not will be) thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed IS (not will be) the fruit of your womb, Jesus. (Note He was named long before He was born...

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen."

The two most important times in a persons life?

Now.

And at the hour of our death.

Which is why I am against the death penalty, and why I so firmly believe that there is hope for every person on this board and in the world...

Because, it ain't over til the "Hour of our Death"...

Does anyone know what the heck has happened to Heather? She hasn't posted in eons!

Been wondering the same myself, mk. I miss her opinions.

Hope yours was a great Christmas. I got to jog in shorts, thank you very much! ;0)

Feliz Navidad, friends!

Hi Bethany,
I'm about to post on the Spain/Abortion thread the results of that incriminating TV expose' of the illegal abortions.
Turns out arrests have been made. Not in Madrid but in Barcelona.
Pity.

"Hey,

No, I haven't heard from Heather. I was going to email her, but I lost her email addressed after my hard-disk crashed the other day.

Jasper, I sent you an email.

Carder, I'll check out that topic.

Leah - you're a sweetheart. Great post by you!

Good luck on all your travels, within our physical realm and also of the mind.

I hope you have internet access and let us know how things are going.

What's the point? Suspicious fires have never occured in Albuquerque prior to this incident? Two hooded figures? Well, at least its not the usual bushy haired stranger.

If two 7 Elevens are torched in one night, the ABQ police aren't so stupid they cannot perceive a connection. Wash your hoodie Mary.

Sally,

Even if there is a connection, what's the point? Arson was unknown in Albuequerque until this incident? I'll wash my bushy haired wig instead.

I am going to Albuquerque this Saturday, but I don't think I'll get to the bottom of this heh heh heh.

You'd have to be blindly ignorant not to see a connection Mary. And please keep your personal hygiene habits to yourself.

Sally, 6:16PM

I never said there wasn't a connection. Again, even if there is a connection what's the point?
Also, you can kindly refrain from telling me to do my laundry.

Washing a wig is personal hygiene?
