Comments:

That was awesome.

Is that my main man John Cleese?

Fetal Scooby-Doo looks more like Fetal Hippopotamus.

And really, wasn't "Fetal Josie and the Pussycats" better?

In my humble opinion, "Fetal Rocky" and "Fetal Rambo" were the best.

That could change if they make a "Fetal Predator" although who would they get to play Jesse Ventura's part? Gary Coleman?

(The immortal Cliff Clavin, from "Cheers")

'Well you see, Norm, it's like this . . . A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the heard is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first . This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.
And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.'

Hm... a fetus with a five o'clock shadow... DAMN you human growth hormones!

And what must the Moms be thinking? They wake up and their umbilical cord is trailing out of the bedroom, down the stars out into the street and off into the distance?

I have to admitt....

That's just wrong. Am I missing the joke on this one, being too serious or something?

or am I just confused as always?

Posted by: valerie at February 13, 2008 6:11 PM

I want Bethany and Mary Kay to write all the posts from now on.

Posted by: Jess at February 13, 2008 6:40 PM

Val,

It was just for fun. Not even gonna look a the motives of whoever made it. Just made Bethany and I giggle...

Posted by: mk at February 13, 2008 7:03 PM

...

...

Wow.

That was...vaguely disturbing.

Somebody was havin' a bit o' fun with them hash brownies...er, I mean Scooby Snacks.

Posted by: Ari-Chan at February 13, 2008 7:09 PM

Those are some seriously long and flexible umbilical cords! Driving around in a van with nary a mother in sight!

Posted by: Ray at February 13, 2008 7:32 PM

MK -

I think what was most disturbing was thinking of Shaggy and Scooby as fetus. I mean, isn't a fetus a bit smarter than them?

Joking! But, the thought of a fetus being high on Scooby snacks was a little bit......weird.... I did pass this post on to a couple friends.....

;-)

That's just wrong. Am I missing the joke on this one, being too serious or something?

I found it on another pro-life blog and I thought it was really weird...and I know, that's an understatement! I couldn't tell what it was supposed to mean, or what the point was of the people who made it, but I did know that it was really weird, and I wanted to see what kind of discussion it would generate.

..............................................

If there is any meaning to the weirdness, it is inside the heads of the persons that created it. But what do I know? I was never entertained by Scooby Doo. Or the Three Stooges for that matter.

Sally I can agree with you there. I have never really been a fan of either of those shows. :-)

But! Do you get Monty Python?

Posted by: Sally at February 13, 2008 9:30 PM

I have watched a few episodes which were really funny. I had never heard of it before MK! MK is a huge fan of Monty Python..which is the reason for the picture at the top of this post. ;-)

Lol.

Fetal scooby snacks.

If it wasn't a tad creepy with them yanking on each other's cords all the time...

well, it would still be creepy. lol

Posted by: Elizabeth at February 13, 2008 10:13 PM

Mmmmmmmm. I love Monty Python.

Bethany, you *must* watch "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". :D

"Bring out your dead! Bring out your dead!"

I have been saying that for years! I am glad to know at least someone understands me!

MONTY PYTHON!

Love them!

My husband and I have successfully quoted from either Monty Python or anything by Mel Brooks every day!

Bethany,

Could it be that the creator is pro-life and trying to draw attention to the "human nature" of a fetus?

Elizabeth,

The yanking on the cords bugged me too!

Posted by: Janet at February 14, 2008 9:43 AM

If we're talking fetuses then it should really have been Scrappy Doo.

I thought this was pretty funny, too. From the last Presidential primaries, it's the Democratic contenders compared to cartoon lookalikes:

I figure I'm down to one brain cell, but that is one fast little dude.

jasper's
quote of the day
Abortion is confounding. Normally, a critical mass of politicians figures out where the middle is and scampers there.

That doesn't happen when it comes to abortion. Most Americans want abortion legal but restricted, and they feel more squeamish about later abortions than earlier ones.

Republicans have picked up on that and therefore focused on late abortions. Democrats, following the cues of the pro-choice activists, have never parried in the most sellable way.

Why don't Democrats hammer this point? Because by emphasizing that Republicans would ban even early-term abortions, Democrats would be implicitly leaving open the possibility that Republicans might be right about late-term abortions.
