Apparently John McCain is From the Same Planet as Frank Schaeffer

By Mary Kay Hastings

I could have sworn I read somewhere that John McCain was Pro-Life!

"Pro-life is a term representing a variety of perspectives and activist movements in bioethics. It can be used to indicate opposition to practices such as euthanasia, human cloning, research involving human embryonic stem cells, and the death penalty, but most commonly (especially in the media and popular discourse) to abortion, and support for fetal rights. The term describes the political and ethical view which maintains that fetuses and embryos are human beings, and therefore have a right to life." Wikipedia

Comments:

All the GOP candidates were weak on life. Remember NRLC endorsed candidate (Right Said Fred) worked on a Planned Parenthood file at his law firm. Let's just hope that Sam Brownback can talk some sense into McCain about stem cells. It's all about the judges. One more and no more Roe. That's why I will be voting for McCain.

This election saddens me more than others have in recent years. So many people who call themselves "pro-life" have rejected the opportunity to finally support a pro-life candidate for a change. Instead, they have chosen to support candidates who are not pro-life, including Thompson, Romney and McCain. Worse yet they have deceived other Americans by claiming that these candidates are pro-life. Some, if not all, of these people may have good intentions, but they have made a very grave error and have lost a good deal (if not all) of my trust and respect. It doesn't matter how good their intentions might be. The result is that they have contributed to furthering the culture of death in our nation. I won't list their names, but they are very prominent personalities.

Oh my goodness.
(2nd video) Unpleasant and terrible PROCEDURE??? Talk about dehumanizing!

This man (if I can call him that) is either PL and lying through his (very yellow) teeth in order to get PC & PL votes, or was never PL at all. Either way, what a jerk! I hate liars, and despise the pro-choice stance.

This is sad.

McCain is talking sense. On this issue, anyway.

Dark days ahead for the "pro-life" movement.

I just don't get the feeling that McCain really understands that marriage of a man and a woman ais a sanctified union created by God for the purpose of the procreation of mankind. Two thinkgs he has realized that changed his stance on RoeVWade, and one of them wasn't realizing these babies desrve rights.
1)Pro-life people are active politically.
2) The RoeVWade decision was unconstitutional legislation from the bench.

Here is an excerpt from his speech in Richmond Virginia tonight
"There are estimates and, I don’t know if they’re true or not, that there are going to be a couple of vacancies on the Supreme Court in the next presidential term. I am proud to have played a role in the appointment of some great justices to the Court. I am very proud to have played a role in the appointment, nomination of two great Supreme Court justices Roberts and Alito," McCain said.

"I tell you I will nominate only people who have a clear, complete adherence to the Constitution of the United States and do not legislate from the bench. That’s who I’ll nominate to the U.S. Supreme Court,” he told the crowd at the Virginia Aviation Museum

Quote from member of Physicians for Life:
"In our society today, the nuclear family is disintegrating, and the value of human life is being lowered from innate worth to a matter of personal desirability. When we lose our unconditional respect for human life, our society is in great danger."

He is more anti-abortion than pro-life. And there is a big difference.

And both of the Democratic hopefuls are pro-abortion. Keep that in mind. I'd rather have a pro-life candidate than an anti-abortion candidate, but I'd much rather have either one than a pro-abortion candidate.

I just wanted to get everyones thoughts on this...

What Would Happen in this Country if the Super-Delegates "Abort" the Peoples Choice?

Hal,

In the end I think the DNC is not worried about Donna Brazile.

Mike, she's not the only one thinking this way, I'm sure. The dems don't want to lose the Obama momentum. They'll bail on Senator Clinton real fast if she tanks tonight.

McCain needs to take some "Theology of the Body" classes. This would be the first step to getting a true understanding of God's role for marriage and the life issues!

Maybe McCain has an understanding of and a gut feel for not injecting one's own religion into public policy, and here's hoping he does.

If a candidate wanted Muslim Sharia law, for example, to hold sway in the US, then lots of people would be up in arms, raising Cain, and in fact any religionist, like Huckabee, is going to face massive opposition on that score.

Religious zealots of any stripe should not be in charge, IMO, nor should they have input to public policy.

Lots of people came to the "New World" to get away from oppressive religion, be it the Church or England or whatever.

I think the days are darkest for those children losing their lives.

People who are in the prolife movement are walking in the light.

It is the pro abortion people who live in darkness.

Hal,
Pro-lifers's are God's children, free from snare of the devil's deception. We bring the evil of abortion out of the dark and into the light. Abortionists and their helpers are doomed to relntless exposure to our witness and destined to be crushed by the truth.

jasper's
quote of the day
"In January, tens of thousands of pro-lifers marched to Capitol Hill in Washington in the annual March for Life, but the New York Times published no story. But on Thursday, about 40 straggling anti-war marchers in upstate New York drew an upbeat story by reporter Michelle York. The news "hook" was the idea that small towns in upstate New York don't see 40 "peace" marchers every day"
