The new poll question is up:
Do you think people have a right to distribute campaign literature on cars in a church parking lot?
Last week a whopping 81.4% of you thought the biggest news story of the week was Pope Benedict's visit to the U.S....
If you voted, find your personal brightly colored flag on the map below. I've adjusted it to include Canada. I've also boxed a map of world votes in the upper right hand corner. Interesting that this question only received 1 vote from outside North America, from France, and it was to agree the Supremes' death penalty decision outrated all others in order of importance. As always, please make comments to either the old or new poll here, not at the Vizu website.

The thing about this weeks question, would you want me distributing animal rights literature on your car while you're at church? I wouldn't cause I think it would just upset people. But I voted that it's fine with permission from the pastor. Because pro-life is also more religiously related then animal rights.
I guess it also depends on the literature. But I don't think the priest/pastor would allow anything obscene.
Posted by: Jess at April 26, 2008 1:31 PMI hate it when people stuff things under my windshield wipers. Especially those darn parking tickets. Just kidding, it's been years since I've gotten one.
I think that method of distributing notices/pamphlets/flyers is annoying and encourages littering. It happens to me where I work all the time. Fortunately I park near a trash bin.
The church parking lot is private property. Anyone distributing literature there should have permission from the priest/minister.
Posted by: John Lewandowski at April 26, 2008 5:39 PMIt always pissed me off when I got political campaign posters under my windshield after church. If they were to raise awareness about a certain issue or an invite to an event, I'd be okay, but the allowance of direct campaigning on behalf of a politician is wrong and demeans the concept that Jesus does not have a party affiliation.
Posted by: prettyinpink at April 26, 2008 5:46 PMI also find it annoying when people stick papers/pamphlets/leaflets on my windshield. Especially if it happens to rain shortly after and leaves me to pick paper pulp from off of my windshield wipers. Very disgusting.
I think if it private property they should ask first (which may bring up a whole different conundrum of pastors endorsing certain political entities but that is another issue for another day). A lot of times the windshield guerrillas don't bother to ask. The company I work for as a no solicitors period policy, yet I will on occasion find flyers on my windshield when I get off work.
Posted by: JKeller at April 26, 2008 6:50 PMPIP, I thought Jesus was an Obama supporter. Rev. Jeremiah Wright told me so.
Posted by: John Lewandowski at April 26, 2008 7:13 PMIt makes since Jesus would go for Obama, since Jesus is black according to Rufus, the black 13th apostle. ;-)
Posted by: JKeller at April 26, 2008 7:43 PMAnd the 14th apostle is Martian. He supports Marvin for president.
Posted by: John Lewandowski at April 26, 2008 8:58 PM@John: I think Pikachu could do a pretty good job as president...better than what Hillary or Obama could do. :-p
Posted by: Rae at April 26, 2008 9:11 PMRae, here's Pikachu beating up George Bush heh heh heh.
Posted by: Doug at April 26, 2008 9:33 PMYeah, but Pikachu doesn't believe in evolution, since he won't change into a Raichu. He must be one of those ID advocates!
Posted by: John Lewandowski at April 26, 2008 9:42 PMI think that Planned Parenthood should be allowed to put flyers under the windshield wipers of cars in church parking lots.
Just kidding.
The question should have a "no" response, plain and simple.
In the dim and distant past I was at this place in California, "Trees of Mystery" in the big redwood tree region.
They had somebody going around and wiring cardboard advertizing signs on the rear bumpers of cars, and when I came out to the parking lot they were heading for mine. In a voice that would do Paul Bunyan credit, I yelled, "Get the **** away from there!"
Posted by: Doug at April 26, 2008 9:44 PMMy car is private property! You do not have the right to touch my vehicle! I believe that here in TX it is illegal, about on the level with jay walking, but illegal none the less.
Posted by: Elizabeth G at April 26, 2008 9:44 PM@JohnL: Dash it all! But c'mon!!! He has electricity in his cheeks! Think of the foreign policy we could get done with THAT!?
"And the 14th apostle is Martian. He supports Marvin for president."
I read that and it didn't seem right, I thought my Biblical knowledge was fading. Until I read it again and oh yeah, 12 apostles.
Posted by: Jess at April 27, 2008 12:26 AM"PIP, I thought Jesus was an Obama supporter. Rev. Jeremiah Wright told me so."
Now don't be silly. I don't live my life by Rev. Wright, but Rufus could be the one to convince me ;)
Posted by: prettyinpink at April 27, 2008 2:18 AMPIP, aren't you pissed off about Rev. Wright endorsing Obama from the pulpit? Shouldn't TUCC be condemned for acting as though Jesus has a political affiliation, be investigated for violating the separation of church and state, etc?
Posted by: John Lewandowski at April 27, 2008 5:21 PMI thought only the sidekick Pikachus were the ones who didn't evolve, the ones you caught in the wild could evolve. But then again I haven't played the last 20 or so incarnations of Pokemon......
And I am a big dork also....
Posted by: JKeller at April 27, 2008 7:50 PMJohn L: Yeah, but Pikachu doesn't believe in evolution, since he won't change into a Raichu. He must be one of those ID advocates!
But... But... Sometimes he does change into Raichu....
Posted by: Doug at April 28, 2008 8:53 AMHey JKeller, I had a full Pokedex when it was limited to 150 (or was it 250?) or so Pokemon - after the red, blue, yellow, silver and gold editions, I believe.
At least one was only available from certain games given away in Japan during a promotion, so I went on eBay and bought a disk from a kid that had it.
Posted by: Doug at April 28, 2008 8:55 AMJohn, anyone bringing politics to the pulpit like that is wrong.
Posted by: prettyinpink at April 28, 2008 10:35 AMYou come to my car I might shoot you.
