blog buzz.jpgby JivinJ, the latest pro-life chatter...

  • Melinda at the Stand to Reason blog has some thoughts on Barack Obama labeling babies as a "punishment."

  • The University of Calgary is ordering pro-life students to take down a display which features pictures of aborted children.

  • We The Students will feature a debate on abortion tonight between students at Liberty University and the University of Vermont.

  • Jay Tea, who describes himself as "squishily pro-choice," has a few thoughts on the numbers in Planned Parenthood's most recent annual report:

... [T]hose numbers mean that Planned Parenthood had about an 11% operating profit. If they weren't a non-profit, that would make them a better investment than the oil companies, whose 9% rate of return was labeled "obscene."

Interesting how hundreds of thousands of people will line up and PAY to see plasticized human bodies, but people in charge feel we need to be protected from seeing the baby pics.

Posted by: Milehimama at April 1, 2008 6:02 PM

Well, the people who are lining up and paying to see it are obviously doing it by choice, whereas when there are posters of aborted/miscarried fetii (of which, by the way, a disproportionate amount are 3rd trimester) the images are out there for any two-year-old child to catch a glimpse of and have nightmares about for a month.

If these students want to charge people admission to a viewing of the photos, I would have no problem with it.

I'm interested to know from people like Jay Tea what their internal reactions are to the revelations they have. Through our pro-life work, we spend a lot of time throwing out all these numbers and facts that really show the evils of the abortion industry.

We can talk forever to some people who disagree with us and get absolutely nowhere. So both sides throw their rhetoric and shine light on the facts that make their point. IMHO, I believe we throw facts and pro-choicers throw 'twists'. That bias aside, here's a situation where someone who makes up that 70% of the population that isn't committed to this issue, one way or the other.

Jay Tea's reaction is interesting to me. First, because it seems like all this information we throw out has landed at least in one instance. But to what effect? To make the connection that PP kills more in a week than the Iraq war ever has... and then... shrug and keep on living? What is it about the human psyche that allows this?

PP's profit is a greater percentage than the evil oil companies? Haha... that's hilarious! Especially since here in Pennsylvania, we have Obama running an ad on TV every five minutes in which he blasts the evil oil companies for making too much money.

Posted by: John Lewandowski at April 1, 2008 7:46 PM

The government makes much more money off of oil than the oil company themselves do, check it out at, http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/1139.html. I find it insulting that politicians complain about the "obscene" oil company profits. I wonder, are they laughing as they pull the wool over our eyes?
Obscene is Planned Parenthood's wholesale slaughter of unborn children, the lies they tell women to make their billions, and their total disdain for anything decent.
Obscene is Americans ignoring the most innocent among us as they are led to the slaughter and their bodies sold for parts.
Obscene is a young mother not understanding that she shouldn't throw her newborn child in the trash.
Obscene is sexualizing children, steeping them in filth and believing that they will not be damaged.

Heh - John, I've seen that commercial, and feel that Obama is shamelessly pandering to short-sighted people there. The oil companies have had plenty of lean years, and 9% is not that big a deal, not compared to many other industries and companies at times.

"Windfall profits tax." Oh please, is 9% a windfall? Sheesh. What to do when a losing year comes around then, take tax money and give it to them?

The energy situation has been coming for years, and there are those who saw it coming. If they're among the shareholders of oil companies or otherwise positioned properly, they deserve to be rewarded.

As for Planned Parenthood, for a doctor's office or clinic or chain of them, a hospital, a drug company, etc., to make 11% wouldn't be a big deal either.

Jo Scott, are you the wife of crazy terrorist Ken Scott?

Posted by: SoMG at April 2, 2008 1:17 AM

I thought SoMG was going to be banned after I showed specific evidence that what he claimed about a pro-abort shooting a pro-lifer was false and he responded as if I hadn't just presented extremely specific evidence showing that he was wrong.

Let me remind Jill and everyone else of the truth that SoMG is unwilling to acknowledge and because it shows that he is wrong.

    SoMG said:

"suppose a pro-choice person shot a right-to-lifer, which has never happened in the USA (yet)."

and I presented evidence that shows what SoMG said was 100% wrong

Well-known pro-abortion activist Eileen Orstein Janezic murdered pro-life activist minister and radio talk show host Jerry Simon by shooting him through his living room window "to prove her love for Satan."

And still no admisson from SoMG that he is wrong based on the evidence.

Will you admit today that you were wrong SoMG?

Posted by: zeke at April 2, 2008 1:37 AM

If she did it to prove her love for Satan, then she didn't do it for choice.

Not an act of pro-choice terror, an act of Satanist terror.

Posted by: SoMG at April 2, 2008 2:01 AM

I'm talking about a pro-choice activist shooting a representative of the right-to-life movement FOR CHOICE, as Paul Hill murdered Dr. Britton IN THE NAME OF THE UNBORN.

Would you like to explain what in the world you fantasize that has to do with the pro choice side of this discussion? Or are you harboring the delusion that anyone who is pro choice *must* be a Satanist?

"The University of Calgary is ordering pro-life students to take down a display which features pictures of aborted children."

Could I parade around you and your family with pictures of dead, mutilated animals to protest eating meat? Could I tell you kids their Mom rips apart live, cute puppies to feed them meat?

    Anonymous,

If I didn't now better, I would guess you are "baby killer" Warren Hern.

    Yes?

Posted by: Jenna Roka at April 2, 2008 7:43 PM

Jenna. No, I am not Dr Hern, nor am I in any way assoicated with him or with abortion. I do understand Dr. Hern is one of several persons who have a restraining order against Ken Scott due to stalking and death threats.

You do not have to be associated with abortion in any way to be targeted with threats and violence by the extremist "pro lifers". All you need to do is stand up to these terrorists.

Since we are "guessing", I would "guess" you are an anti-choice extremist. Do you advocate just the murder of abotionists, and their families, or do you want to kill nurses, administrators, security guards, police, politcians, judges, and "bystanders", like me?

    quote of the day
[Kate] Hudson was only 24 when she gave birth to Ryder, and the fact that she spent what many would consider their prime Hollywood partying years breast-feeding and packing lunches doesn't really make much of an impression on her.

"Am I gonna look back and say, 'God, I wish I could have gone to that... that... concert?" she asks, making the same sour-lemon face of disdain she gives repeat costar Matthew McConqughey when he says something particularly idiotic onscreen.

"I'd rather be listening to my son sing songs. I'd rather be watching him sleep."
