Awkward and embarasing for YOU!
No, this is wrong. They broke the law. Well, the actual law and the Catholic law (although the Catholic Church often flips on a lot of things, abortion isn't one of the big ones).
When she said, you can't stop me, did she mean she was going to self abort? Could you really call the police for that? Like, could you call the police and say, there's this pregnant girl who is jumping up and down trying to have a miscarriage? There's this pregnant girl trying to get on a roller coster?
There's not enough information in this story.
Posted by: Jess at July 15, 2008 5:40 PMI'm glad someone is on top of this. Everyone who is involved in killing children should be held accountable. Any Catholics in that diocese have an opinion? I'd love to know what the Catholics in the Pew are saying!
Since it was the Catholics, and not PP, who forged the documents, it *probably* will actually be prosecuted.
Posted by: Milehimama at July 15, 2008 7:43 PMIt is possible she was using the morning after pill, and had already taken part of it. It's hard to say without knowing more details.
Posted by: Milehimama at July 15, 2008 8:07 PMMilehimama, you don't need to go to a PP to get the morning after pill, and most people don't even consider it abortion because you don't know for certain that there was even conception. You take it like, up to three days after sex.
There are many angles to this story in the news at Google.
Here are just a few:

Here is a third angle to the same story:
Posted by: Janet at July 15, 2008 9:11 PMThis is an embarrassment and I hope that the Bishop keeps a good eye on them for now on.
Posted by: LizFromNebraska at July 15, 2008 10:06 PMIt is no wonder we have abortion when the head of the US Catholic Bishops says that he cannot deny pro-abort politicians Holy Communion.
Oh, that is against Canon Law 915. Again, if they were killing Bishops they would not be receiving Holy Communion!
THAT IS WHY ALL OF OUR DONATIONS ARE GOING STRAIGHT TO THE VATICAN!
CATHOLICS FOR TRUTH
John 10:10
Now the Rockford diocese won't allow Priests to take part in the Face the Truth Tour, showing graphic pictures of the truth of abortion! Shame.
Please pray for Cardinal Francis George and our Holy Priests.
Posted by: Catholic for Truth at July 15, 2008 11:25 PMCatholic for Truth,
Is that true. What about Aurora? My Parish priest was going to go out there with me this Saturday. Did the Rockford bishop only ban priests from his diocese, or all priests? How can he do that? Do you have a link that I can see? I'd like to send it to my priest, and Cardinal George...
Posted by: mk at July 16, 2008 5:49 AMCatholic for Truth,
Please provide some backing for the assertion about the Rockford diocese. I just moved from there, and the diocese was very supportive of the pro-life movement.
I now live in Virginia just next to this diocese, and I know the bishop is disraught over what happened and is trying to do everything possible to prevent another incident. Unfortunately, it seems he was not given the truth from the beginning; hence the delay in action.
Posted by: Michael at July 16, 2008 6:33 AMI grew up in the Rockford diocese and compared to the Joliet diocese (where I now live) Rockford is very Orthodox. Fr. Eric Barr, who can be abrasive, is a very orthodox, good priest that follows the Church faithfully. He's one of the best priest I have ever encountered and he's basically the bishop's right hand man.
Posted by: Kristen at July 16, 2008 8:09 AMMK,
I don't think the Joliet Diocese will prevent its priests from joining the face the Truth on Saturday...Bishop Sartain is very Pro-life.
"the Catholic Church often flips on a lot of things.."

Ok Jess..can you cite an example on this?
Pls remember you stated the CHurch (as a whole) rather than specific priests...

Oh come on! One day it's mandated to burn non subscribers to papism at the stake and the next day it's not? Flip flop. Flip flop.
Posted by: Sally at July 16, 2008 11:48 PMI hope you guys are equally devoted in stopping every pro-abort politician from receiving communion, including the republican ones. Doesn't seem like that's much of a priority, as long as the republicans are "less" pro-choice.
