Obama's opposition to Born Alive goes International

The Barack Obama/Born Alive issue made the UK's The Guardian today, called "smear." Oh brother on the title.

The Chicago Tribune's Eric Zorn also tried in vain to bat the issue away once again today. Oh brother on the title of his piece, too....

A liberal's last resort: mockery and hyperbole. Love it. In this case, they only burn the wrong image of Obama into people's heads.

Meanwhile, recall I previously wrote that David Freddoso, author of the book, The case against Barack Obama, was highlighting Obama's opposition to Born Alive while an IL state senator.

Turns out Freddoso dedicated almost an entire chapter to it. I read it two days ago, and it was excellent. The book is ranked #13 on Amazon's best seller list this afternoon. Congratulations, David!

An August 7 article in Human Events showcased that chapter.

Liberal attempts to ridicule this topic betray a very real fear: The Obama/Born Alive issue is gaining traction.

Stay tuned.

Breaking news: Edwards admits affair, denies paternity

Thumbnail image for breaking.jpgFrom the Associated Press, this afternoon:

Former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards on Friday admitted to an extramarital affair while his wife was battling cancer. He denied fathering the woman's daughter.

Edwards told ABC News that he lied repeatedly about the affair with a 42-year-old woman but said that he didn't love her. He said he has not taken a paternity test but knows he isn't the father because of the timing of the affair and the birth....

ABC said a former Edwards campaign staffer claims he is the father, not Edwards.

In 2006, Edwards' political action committee paid $100,000 in a four-month span to a newly formed firm run by Rielle Hunter, who directed the production of just four Web videos, one a mere 2 1/2 minutes long.

Hunter's daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, was born on Feb. 27, 2008, and no father's name is given on the birth certificate filed in CA.

Meanwhile, the National Enquirer has posted photos it says are of Edwards visiting his baby in a CA hotel last month, as I previously noted.

I again commend Rielle Hunter for not aborting her high profile crisis pregnancy.

I again note it has taken MSM forever to give this any coverage, obviously because the guilty cad is a liberal Democrat.

Corsi drives libs nuts outting Obama for supporting infanticide

Democrat strategist Bob Beckel duked it out with The Obama Nation author Dr. Jerome Corsi on Fox & Friends August 5.

The spar is posted on YouTube. Scroll to 5:15 on the video and you'll see the conversation turned to Barack Obama's opposition to Born Alive. And "the nurse who is very famous out in Illinois" would be me....

God bless Dr. Corsi. The left wing Media Matters has tracked at least three times Corsi has stated during interviews exactly how far Obama will go in his radical support of abortion: "even late term, induced abortions where the baby lives. Obama's on record as let's kill the baby if that's what the mother wants."...

The Huffington Post sees this increasingly mainstream exposure of Obama's support of infanticide as "[t]he next smear against Obama."

"Next"? Hello?

Love this title on liberal The Raw Story:

With friends like that....

All these sites are either recycling lies or muddying waters, for instance, by linking to the wrong bill (see Media Matters story that links to Senate Bill 1093 when the Born Alive Bill was Senate Bill 1095.)

(Prolifer)ations 8-8-08

Thumbnail image for blog buzz.jpg

First, I'm sad (for us) to announce this will be intern Colleen W.'s last (Prolifer)ations post.

Colleen is a graduate student and is heading back to school after a summer immersed in pro-life work in DC at Students for Life of America and Feminists for Life, among others. We'll sure miss her. She found great posts to spotlight. Thanks for your work here, Colleen!

If you - as a reader or a college student wanting an internship - are interesting in writing (Prolifer)ations - please contact me for more information. The task requires 4-6 hours a week.

And now, from the world of pro-life blogs...

  • Suzanne at Big Blue Wave has a couple of interesting posts. The first is an The first is an ABC News article describing how preborn infants respond to surgery:

    prenatal surgery.jpg

During the surgery, doctors entered the amniotic sack using a kind of miniature "telescope." Occasionally, to their surprise, a fetus will actually grab on to the scope in the middle of the procedure.

"The fetus will reach up and wonder what this scope is," Moise said. "And even though his or her eyes are fused so they can't really see the scope, they'll grab the scope sometimes because it's an object in their cavity."

Suzanne comments: "Can you just imagine what happens during an abortion, when a syringe of potassium chloride heads for their heart?"

  • Suzanne also reports on a new method of killing multiple infants in the womb: suck the blood from their hearts.

  • The Real Choice blog corroborates that prenatal testing is more often a "search and destroy mission."

  • Joseph Dellapenna notes the attempts to recycle abortion history myths in First Things.

  • The AP has an article on the recent news of commercial dog cloning by South Korean researchers:

According to a report released by The Humane Society in May, 3,656 cloned embryos, 319 egg donors and 214 surrogates were used to produce just five cloned dogs and 11 cloned cats who were able to survive 30 days past birth....

  • According to the California Catholic Daily, an abortion provider in CA named Howard Pfupajema was arrested after assaulting a local pro-lifer who was taking pictures of him.

  • Michael New has a piece in the National Review on two separate pro-life goals, preventing abortions and building a culture of life:

Most of the time, the twin goals of protecting the unborn and building a culture of life reinforce one another. On occasion, though, they appear to contradict each other.

  • A MI woman has been sentenced to a year in jail and five years probation after causing the death of her newborn child. (She pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide.) The body of the baby boy was found in a trash can at a hotel. The cause of death was blunt force trauma. There are some background details in the Watertown Daily Times.

    jasper's
    quote of the day
The pro-life community has been tracking Obama's support for selective infanticide for quite a while, but only recently has there been a national discussion on this issue.

On May 15, I said on Fox and Friends that there's been a media cover-up on this issue. But now the cat's out of the bag.

~ Catholic League President Bill Donohue, on the growing interest in Barack Obama's abortion record, as quoted causa-nostrae-laetitiae in the post, "Jill Stanek may be The One to bring down Barack Obama," August 20
