"Women voters flock to McCain"... as do PUMAs

abortion poll.gifI wrote the other day that liberals, pollsters, and MSM repeatedly have tried to maintain that abortion ranks low on the list of American priorities when choosing candidates for political office.

This has always been about minimizing the pro-life effort. "No one cares. Go away."

Yet, abortion has taken center stage in this election....

Now liberals and feminists are in a quandary. It appears there is indeed a huge segment of the population, particularly indepedent women, who aren't taking Sarah Palin's position on abortion into account when falling in love with her. Read the story in The Independent today, which states in part:

A Gallup poll last night showed McCain opening a 15-point lead over Obama among independent voters who are not members of either of the main parties.

However, it is the hockey mom wars that will preoccupy the generals of both camps. While white women favoured Mr Obama over McCain before the conventions by 50-42%, the picture today is dramatically reversed, according to the Washington Post/ABC survey. Now they back Mr McCain 53-41%. That is a 20-point change.

This means the other side must now do their best to make abortion the issue they've always tried to deaccentuate. And we're happy to comply. Bring it on.

I've mentioned I've been doing a lot of interviews lately. Because I say yes to every interview, no matter who wants me, I don't check ideologies before going on. But the host are usually conservative, maybe always.

no obama talk show.jpgSo I was on a radio program Friday night and was a full 10 minutes into it before slowly realizing it was hosted and heard by Hillary-supporting Democrats. They believed their party was sexist and had thwarted the will of its people by nominating Obama. They had a related web page and chat room called Hillary Supporters for John McCain.

The call-in show runs 3 hours a night, 5 nights a week and claims to be 2.5 million strong just since the end of May.

I had entered a world where most of the people were pro-abortion but supported my candidates, particularly newcomer Sarah Palin because of their perceived belief that Democrat Party leaders were sexist.

They also though Obama was a radical, even on the abortion issue, which was why they had me on.

I ended up staying on an entire extra hour, converting from interviewee to interviewer. It was fascinating and exciting, particularly on the abortion issue when through the course of our time together one of the hosts decided he was converting to pro-life.

One interesting point. These people plan to vote for McCain this fall but get Hillary elected in 2012. BUT, they said if Hillary begins to diss Palin, they'll walk away from her, too.

After the show I received this email from a listener, who said these groups together call themselves "PUMAs" - Party Unity My A**:

We have about 250 coalitions. We are the outcasts of the Democratic Party who were told we weren't needed anymore. The party is now corrupt. We face a Communist country if Obama becomes President....

Most Dems do not want Obama so don't listen to the news and their lies.... There is a huge shift going on in the country. The base Democratic party (moderate centrists) has discovered we have more in common with Republicans than we do with the radical Democrats. This is happening in every state....

We are every flavor of Americans from all walks of life, every economic status, race and culture. We, as life long Democrats, all have defected from the party and have the same goal. to defeat Obama. Most of us have worked on Hillary's campaign as independent volunteers so we have the inside scoop. We agree on one common theme: Obama is evil and the emissary of the devil. Most of us are people of deep faith....

Some anti-Obama sites that are Hillary supporters now voting likely for McCain are listed below:

http://heidilipotpourri.blogspot.com (law professor)
http://citizens.johnmccain.com/citizens.htm

http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com

This is just a fraction of the coalitions. Now for more of what happened... go to Dr. Lynette Long's site. She complied everything we witnessed along the way and put it into one place.

The groups' secondary purpose is to record what occurred during the primary and is now occurring during the GE, because the regular news is corrupt and making up stories. They fail to report the truth.

http://www.womencount.org is a new PAC to stop sexism and a reporting place for any accounts of it. I'm sure their email is full.

Confluence blog alone has 2.5 million and other blogs have the same amount of members....

We are not backward farmers. Many of us are professionals. We have formed during the election.... I hope this helps you realize that Obama supporters are unrecognizable to most of the former Democrat Americans. Some groups will be fasting and praying for 40 days before the election....

We were voting for McCain before Gov. Palin came to the scene. She embodies everything we need, so we feel he hears us and our need as Americans....

walking eage.jpg

Lastly, we have a coaliton of Native Americans against Obama, which is a group of all the tribes across USA who have come out against Obama. They named him Walking Eagle. Reason is he is so full of it he can't fly. Their website is: http://nativeamericansagainstobama.wordpress.com/

I know this was long but it barely scratches the surface. The different groups are for the different people. Some are silly, some are serious, and some are in between. But I will say there is a group to fit everyone, and they are crossed-posted, and we are all in connection....

My mom's a PUMA and trust me...they believe that Obama and the DNC are evil, sexit elitists. They also believe that the DNC has been using the abortion issue to keep them in line and are now being threatened with it. Their view is that they had a great pro-choice chamipion in HRC, but she was thrown under the bus so that "the one" could be choosen. So, to stand up to the DNC bullying, they're voting for McCain Roe V. Wade be damned. They'll duke it out in legislation or hope for a fillibuster of conservative judges.

Do you have audio of the interview, Jill? I would be keenly interested to hear the callers reactions to your story and whatever else you brought to the table.

Did the "convert" convert publicly on the air or privately after the interview?

Fascinating.

Carder, I think they said they have podcasts, but I'm not sure. Check the site.

And yes, he converted on air... :)

What's the name of the radio station????

And it's compiled, not complied.
And I think it's cross-posted, not crossed posted...

Would love to hear comments from our resident Democrat friends posting on this blog?

Forgive me, Jill, but I don't see a link to the show or the name of the show.

Where is Hal?

Posted by: Carla at September 10, 2008 12:53 PM

Carla,

Hiding under the bed? Actually, I think he said something about being gone for a few days...I think he did, anyway.

Either that or he's donned dark glasses and a wig and is lurking nearby waiting for the dust to settle...

Jill:

The abortion issue has never been about women's rights, never, ever, never. It has always been just a tool for Democrats to hold onto power. I mean over half the babies that have been aborted are women too, correct? And what kind of emotional scars have the women who have had abortions had to bear over the last 35 years. Women are now starting to realize that abortion is not an answer and the Party that supports it is indeed not on their side.

The most pro-woman man who ever lived was Jesus Christ. Sarah Palin has embraced that God-Man fully and it is evident in her extremely successful and full life, a life not devoid of challenge, however, you can just see the joy exuding from her. That is the joy of the Lord which is her strength, unshakble.

Being the author of life, i.e., the power behind consception, I can never ever picture Jesus advocating abortion as a good thing for anyone. Pregnancy, raising children, a challenge, you bet, but of eternal value and in the best interest of women. Yes, that is love in action not love as control.

My sisters, please, please open your minds to what is really going on here. God loves us all and wants nothing but the best for us.

And my brothers, you better start respecting women because Jesus won't be too happy with you if you don't. That respect does not include forcing or encouraging them to have abortions or abandoning your responsibilities. You my brothers were made to lead your sisters to Christ, the true lover of their souls. There is not a more noble or manly thing a man can aspire to.

Lot of McCain/Palin supporters here at the http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/. I belong to this group and they are working hard to defeat Obama and elect McCain/Palin. They are incensed at the hate that has gone toward Sarah Palin and her family. We are fighting the good fight, and we will win.

You left them off your earlier list, so I'm just including them. They are PUMA's too.

What do I think of Ms Sarah Palin?

There are a couple of scenes from the movie '300', that come to mind. Leonides, king of Sparta, and three hundred of his warriors have gone to fight several thousand Persians. The kings wife is trying to get an audience with the ruling council in order to persuade them to send more soldiers, not just to save her husband, but more importantly, to preserve their very way of life and liberty. One of the senators is sympathetic, but advises her she must first win over the most influential senator, Theron, if she is to have any hope of success with the council.

The queen arranges a meeting with Theron. He says if you will have sex with me, I will help you. She agrees to his terms. He leans in close and whispers in her ear, 'This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy it.'

When the queen appears before the council Theron renigs on the agreement and accuses the queen of attempting to seduce him. The queen grabs a sword from a nearby guard and uses it to disembowel Theron. Before he can fall to the floor she leans in close and says, 'This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy it. I am not your queen!'

I can almost see Sarah Palin leaning in close to Joe Biden at the Vice Presidential debate and saying, 'This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy it. I am not your queen!'

(Kind of like that scene in 'Misery', when James Caan smacks his female tormentor in the head with the typewriter. Nobody was thinking,'Stop violence against women!' We were all, men and women, cheering. Hit her again!)

I think most american women identify with the queen. They want to stick it to the man. Joe Biden is just the first man in that line.

Hell has no fury...........!

Beautiful stuff, Jill.

Just comes from doing the right thing.

See the pattern of Barack Obama. Put his condescending performance in the New Hampshire debate together with the three links in the FreeRepublic.com post, below.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2078854/posts?page=52#52

To: KayEyeDoubleDee These three YouTubes show a nasty little trick that Barack Obama incorporated into his stump speech back when he was getting hammered in the Democrat Debates. He did this time after time, and denied it afterwards.

Obama Gives Hillary The Finger

Obama Gives Hillary Clinton "The Finger"?

Obama gives Hillary the finger!

These are three different clips of three different speeches. This was his standard stump speech. Still he denied it. The reporters following his campaign saw him do this over and over again, and they accepted his denial.

Now he denies this. But note the hooting and hollering from the crowd after the "lipstick on a pig" remark. They know full well what Obama was talking about, and so do we.
