"Obama's abortion extremism" by Robert George

must read.jpgMany people have sent me a link to this excellent commentary by Princeton's Robert George yesterday.

A must read.

Comments:

"In an act of breathtaking injustice which the Obama campaign lied about until critics produced documentary proof of what he had done, as an Illinois state senator Obama opposed legislation to protect children who are born alive, either as a result of an abortionist's unsuccessful effort to kill them in the womb, or by the deliberate delivery of the baby prior to viability."

Obama is neither honest nor civilized.

"Princeton's Robert George" is a far-right, anti-gay anti-abortion extremist dressed up as a scholar, whose work is used by the religious right to promote discrimination against gays.

A good piece. Pro-life people who support Obama, at some point, need to honestly admit that they are simply marginalizing the issue.

I can make an honest argument as to why McCain has a better plan for the middle class, why Obama will be a better choice to fight terrorism, etc. They are uphill battles, but at least I can imagine doing it with a straight face.

To actually argue that Obama is the more 'pro-life' president indicates that someone has selected to either vote with the party or has put some other issue higher on the priority list.

Some stats I didn't really see but I think also make the point:
- As of 2004, less than a quarter of abortions were being performed for financial reasons. So, even if Obama's initiatives included UNLIMITED financial support for these women, we'd still have almost a million abortions a year in the US.
- Do all these abortion statistics include the 'morning after pill'? That skews a lot of the statistics in my opinion... and in a bad way.
- Another thought, I didn't know that about the cloning laws. That's scary stuff.

Wow, that was great.

Barack Obama is the most pro-abortion politician to run for ANY office in the history of the United States of America.

Yeah, Princeton is known for their hiring of "dressed up scholars"...

The right to life is a basic human right. Please people do not let anyone tell you that you are a single issue voter if you vote for life. This issue is connected to all other issues. I have been using the slavery analogy and pro-abortion people just roll their eyes. If you are pro-abortion, do research on pro-life groups and clinics that care for babies and women after abortion, you may be surprised at how much the pro-choice movement has lied to you.

Holy cow. After reading that article, I am even more scared than ever about Obama becoming president.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you!

One word: Devastating!

If it encourages any of you, the Communist News Network actually had an unflattering report about Nobama, talking about him saying people were "clinging to their guns and religion" among other things. Abortion wasnt mentioned in what I heard, but nevertheless, Nobama has had the so called "mainstream news media" in his pocket up until now.... so I am quite surprised at this latest development. Maybe we will actually start hearing the truth about how dangerous his far left policies are.

Not to mention how devastating it would be for the unborn.

.........
@PPC,

your sentence is a classic ad-hominem attack! I do not care if the analysis was done by a buck-toothed, freckled 10 year old. The question still remains: Was the analysis CORRECT? I think it is.(my opinion) Now it is your turn to offer proof (not opinion) that what was said is wrong, as refute.

Please note that my opinion required no proof because I am in agreement with this analysis.

PPC

What part of parts of Mr. Georges article do you deem incorrect or a lie?

The 'liar, liar, pants on fire' arguement is not a very effective strategy.

PRINT the Robert George article pro-lifers and give it (OR EMAIL IT) to every undecided voter you know. It's a must read (as Jill indicated) by pro-choicers who haven't picked a candidate yet.

See link above.

An irreverent, specious, unscholarly, ad hominem assertion dressed up to look like a relevant opinion.

What exactly was said about gays in the editorial? What common thread links gays with abortion advocacy?

We see the different spokes in the wheel of a common worldview.

n the third presidential debate Senator Obama made the claim that he would ban Partial Birth abortions if protection was given with regards to the health of the mother. This is an empty argument since the baby is killed after it has been 90% delivered and only its head is still in the womb. The mother's health is not in jeopardy for that last second it takes to deliver the baby. He is just being dishonest. Take a look at this video which goes into detail of the procedure.
