I received this e-mail from a friend. We are definitely in a spirtual battle. Barack Obama has allowed himself to be demonically influenced:

"Intercessors,
We are exactly one week, seven short days until the next President of the United States will be elected. My heart is heavy because of the forces we are facing in this election--occult forces of an extremely demonic nature.

Never before have we had to spiritually fight this kind of an occult frontal assault. American demons are much more subtle than the ones that come from native people. Kenya is very much on the forefront of this election in the spirit realm. We are fighting occult powers from the very depth of the African culture--an evil and a power with which Americans don't usually need to deal. It is from the pit of hell. This evil causes people to do things, believe things, and say things that they normally wouldn't do.

Much has come across the net about the curses coming out of Kenya. We are seeing it manifested in the hypnotic state of the public in the US , the blindness, the ability to believe anything--any lie--that if we were alert--we would not believe. At least half of the American public are acting like zombies--in a trance--doing what they are told to do. This includes many who call themselves Christians.

What actually sealed this for me was when Obama was speaking in Germany and 200,000 people were WORSHIPING at his feet. It was a portrayal of idol worship--shocking. It is my belief that it is coming from occult powers out of Kenya and the concentrated effort of Barak's Kenyan people to bring this election to the feet of Barak Obama.

As you know, in Ephesians 6:12, it tells us we don't fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places. This is what we are up against. In 2 Cor. 10:4, it tells us that our weapons of warfare aren't carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. These strongholds are the thoughts of man. Their thoughts need to be changed by the power of God.

These strongholds of the deceived public need to be pulled down. It is done through spiritual war-fare prayer. We can do it, of course, if we make up our minds to press in for this last week as a Body of Believers who are fully qualified and committed to pray in this manner. Does this kind of prayer have POWER? ABSOLUTELY. It is not our power--we have none, but the ONE that we worship has all the power. He will use it through us.

I have a personal friend by the name of Thomas Muthee, who pastors a church in Kiambu, Kenya. When the Lord sent him to Kiambu, he didn't want to go. The city was ruled by a witch whose power was so great that she controlled the entire city. Her powers were so awesome and evil that her curses could cause people to fall dead with no apparent cause. She had the city officials in her pocket and all facets of the society. She ruled the people and the city by a spirit of fear. No church could survive there.

Muthee confronted her in prayer by establishing the Prayer Cave with prayer going on 24/7. He eventually faced her and ran her out of town. This was done through extreme spiritual warfare prayer. If any of you are familiar with the Transformation Videos done my George Otis, Jr., Muthee is featured on the first one he did. Peter Wagner wrote about him in one of his books about the power of this kind of prayer.

Having ministered in India six times, I understand this kind of occult power. I was praying in a large room alone and was suddenly picked up and thrown across the room. No, I didn't stumble or fall--my body was catapulted across the room. We are at war with an unseen, evil that is intent on bringing down anything that names the name of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. It is real--more real than anything we can see or touch.

Have mercy upon us and save us from the laws against our religious rights that have already been passed in Canada , England and other countries.

All demons released against this election through chanting, praying to the constellation, theosophy, theomancy, white magic, candle magic, water witching, tribalism, meditation, astral projection, human sacrifices, witchcraft stemming from anti American demons, animal sacrifices, water spirits, territorial witchcraft and radical Islamic hatred is bound and blocked In Jesus' Name. Protect and empower the missionaries that are on the front lines in Kenya. Let them eat signs, wonders and miracles for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every dedication of Senator Obama that is of a demonic source has no roots and the foundation is destroyed. Antichrist, generational curses through his lineage cannot transfer to this nation. We loose confusion to the shamans, the babas, the wise ones, the genies, the oracles, the false prophets and any empty stall for the devil. We declare that Senator Obama IS NOT the chosen one as the genie, in Kenya , has spoken. We turn the words of the genie that says he will be the next President of the United States of America . We declare that these words are coming from an unclean vessel and have no power. Our words have more power and our power is rooted in holiness. Curses do not override blessings. The blessings override curses because the Greater One is on the inside of us. We say , NO to the witchcraft from Kenya, we say, NO, to the laws Obama supports, we say NO to the campaign against unborn babies and the sanctity of marriage, we say NO to the laws he supports that influence our religious liberties in a negative way, we say NO to his outright disrespect for the contents in Romans the First Chapter. The words and the works of every sacrifice done on the behalf of Obama's for victory are turned to the pits of hell and shall NOT prosper in Jesus' name. Demonic prosperity against Senator Mc Cain and Governor Palin's campaign is forbidden in heaven and cannot manifest in the earth realm. Every object, fetish, or voodoo doll formed in their fashion has no power against them or influence over them. The angels are working overtime on their behalf. We pray over their minds and say that they will see clearly and speak sharply in public forums. No weapons formed against them will prosper and every demonic tongue against them will be proven to be wrong. Thank you HisMan for quoting God's word on this PROLIFE blog on this historic day. Just had prayer meeting at my home with friends for God to sweep over this country like a wave of righteousness. We were fighting spiritual warfare. Praying Psalms 35 for God to send his angels to do battle for us as we stand for the right to life for innocent unborn babies, liberty and (the most profound institution he created which he compares to his church) to be affirmed MARRIAGE between one man and one woman. Keep praying Christian prolifers. God is indeed in control. He is the only one that can give us the miracle that we need.

This past Tuesday, the McCain/Palin Bus came through a little town called, Lebanon , Ohio The LORD allowed me to go to the Rally giving them a message that He wanted personally deliv ered.

Here's how it happened.

Sunday Night - a burden hit me that would only shake me to my knees - I prayed and wept for our Nation. Never has my heart been so broken before God. I literally interceded for these wonderful people who do not deserve all the hate against them. The GOD-Haters are going to try everything to stop them, but they will not succeed! God is not pleased with the "bashing" in the News of this "Anointed" person. He has called her for this time! I promised God that I would pray and hold them up in prayer. I would "listen" and be mindful of where they were.

Monday - The following day is important in this time-line because I didn't even know until God spoke to me Monday and into Monday Night - the burden of prayer was so heavy that I was literally shaking and could not stop weeping. I didn't know that they were coming to Ohio . I prayed and walked and wept and walked. I prayed and prayed and wept and prayed.

Tuesday at 2:00 A.M. - God spoke these words to me - "Go turn the Radio on!" Immediately the Reporter's Words were - "McCain & Palin Bus to be in Lebanon later this morning for a 10:00 A.M. Rally!" Immediately upon hearing that news, I heard God again. God said, "You are to go. You will meet them and give them a message for Me!"

I prayed as an intercessor and went to a place in prayer that I don't think I've ever been because the LORD had just visited me and I knew I was on a " Mission ." I had now been up since Sunday Night and now it's Tuesday and I've got to go on the "WORD of the LORD." He sure became My Strength as this unfolds. I didn't stop praying until I drove over to the town and parked the car. The News would later report they were expecting 5,000 people and the actual head-count of those who had been scanned was more than 10,000 people.

I simply obeyed and God actually told me where to stand, who to talk to and when to be on the move. I had learned on the Mission Field, when God wants to open a door, He will do it at the appropriate time. He always has someone to assist and even those standing beside you may just be an Angel.

I struck up a conversation with an agent on the ground - he simply said, "I can't allow you to stand here!" This is where the bus was going to actually pull up. They had to make a much larger perimeter, so the entire area was now being moved back several blocks. The only other thing he told me to do was to go through the metal detector zone and just watch from the back. So, that's what I did.

Due to sensitivity of the Internet, I can't share much of the story as to what happened next, but it was definitely a GOD THING ALL THE WAY. Looking over the shoulders and backs and heads of all the people, I knew it would take a miracle for what GOD told me to do.

As I was standing there, two Boy Scouts came running up my back-literally; they almost knocked me to the ground because they were running so fast behind me up my back and over to the right. These Boy Scouts were about Junior High Age.

Their Scout Leader and several others were behind them, but as the two out front were trying to push through the crowd, saying they were late. The smaller scouts were left in their dust. The Scout Leader, who was with a McCain Rep from the State, grabbed me and told me bring the other Scouts up front as they tried to keep up with the first two that just came through. I just became the leader of the rest of the Scouts to lead them right up front and center. As the Rep was shouting back at me to bring the Scouts forward, the people parted just like God parted the Red Sea . I marched those boys right up front and to the right of the stage as one was looking from the back. When I got there I was fifteen feet from the podium. GOD said, "Stand here, and don't move from this spot."

Within five minutes, the bus pulled up and around the other side. McCain, Sarah Palin and her husband Todd stepped up and the speeches took off. I was where God placed me. And even Sarah Palin and Todd were standing on my side of the stage. I made eye contact, I gave them thumbs up gestures and I knew they were just happy to see me standing there. Ha Ha

When they came around the podium and started on the other side, I knew they were coming right toward me. A little lady who stood by me, reached up and told the Rep that they had promised a Picture with her because she was the one who had lost a son in Iraq ,recently. The Rep confirmed she would get a picture with them and they would talk to her.

When McCain came to hug the lady, he immediately shook my hand, and following his moment with her, I shook his hand as he grabbed my hand, now for the second time, and I said, "God wants you to know that I'm praying for you, Sir!"

He thanked me and kept smiling. I repeated that phrase to him five times. He grabbed my hands and looked right into my eyes and said, "I won't make it without prayer. Sir, thank you for praying for me, and don't let one day go by that you don't pray for me. I need all the prayers that I can get. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!"

As he moved to my right, Sarah Palin came over to my left side, standing over the crowd, and then looking at the little lady who had lost the son. It took a moment for her to shake some hands, and people were pushing in all around. Sarah came and got on her hands and knees on that side of the stage and hugged that little Mom, telling her, "It was not in vain." She promised her support.

It was at this moment that Sarah Palin reached out for me to help her up, and as I was assisting her to stand I was now face to face with her, and GOD said, "Open your Mouth and I will fill it."

Here is what came out...
"God wants you to know that you are a present day Esther!
[She immediately began to cry]!
God wants to tell you that you are Chosen for such a time as this! You are called, and chosen to be a leader.
Don't lose heart and don't fear man.
The news and naysayers and criticizers are going to be very hateful toward you, and in the days ahead they are going to turn up the heat...but do not fear.
You are a present day Esther.
You are an Esther.
You are an Esther!
Keep your eyes on GOD and know that He has chosen you to reign! Stay strong. Be strong. Don't tire. Don't be weary in well-doing. Be strong."

Her husband Todd came over and I told him what I told her. He began to cry. I emphasized the fact that he was to guard her at this time and know that she is GOD-CALLED and GOD-ANOINTED. "This is a GOD-THING and your wife is a present day Esther. She is for God to use at this time. She is an Esther. She is an Esther. She is an Esther. You will be hated, but stand strong. GOD has called both of you to stand!" We are praying and I am praying for you!

At this moment, McCain came right to where I was finishing talking to Todd and I told Mr. McCain exactly what I told to Sarah and Todd Palin.

"Mr. McCain, they are called of God and she is an Esther. Don't lose hope and don't lose heart. We are praying for all of you!" He shook my hand and with a deep look of understanding of what I had just said, he said, "Thank you for your prayers and support. I really do mean that!"

And he turned and shook more hands, and I watched them as they went through the crowd. When I got to my car, I sat there for quite a long time...knowing the GOD of the Universe had just used me to deliver a message confirming to Sarah and Todd to realize they are truly chosen vessels of God. I wept. I have not stopped praying and crying. My heart is full knowing they had all the staging, and all the hype, and all the crowd, but the GOD of Heaven and Earth wanted to give them a Divine-God-Appointment!

From that arrogant statement he demonstrates that he will pander to any audience he appears before to get their vote. In Pennsylvania and West Virginia, he'll claim he's for coal and for the jobs coal creates but in liberal San Francisco he'll declare coal finished. New coal plants will be bankrupted, he says, because he will impose the highest fees on them in the world. Politicians have been pandering to audiences for generations. Barack Obama is no change.

For what it's worth, this shows how extreme he is on energy as well. Coal-fired plants produce 55% of all America's electricity. Bankrupt them and you bankrupt America.

If you care about America's future, if you care about your children's future, if you care about your grandchildren's future, stop what you are doing right now and do something to help John McCain win.

After living what I felt was a 'decent' life, my time on earth came to the end.

The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a court house.

The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table.

As I looked around I saw the 'prosecutor.'

He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.

I sat down and looked to my left and there sat My Attorney, kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed so familiar to me, I felt I knew Him.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the Judge in full flowing robes.

He commanded an awesome presence as He moved across the room I couldn't take my eyes off of Him.

As He took His seat behind the bench, He said, 'Let us begin.'

The prosecutor rose and said,

'My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this man belongs in hell.'

He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole, and In the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible Perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank.

I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own Attorney, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at My Attorney who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all.

I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had done some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the harm I'd done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, 'This man belongs in hell, he is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise.'

When it was His turn, My Attorney first asked if He might approach the bench. The Judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned Him to come forward.

As He got up and started walking, I was able to see Him in His full splendor and majesty.

I realized why He seemed so familiar; this was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior.
He stopped at the bench and softly said to the Judge, 'Hi, Dad,' and then He turned to address the court.

'Satan was correct in saying that this man had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And, yes, the wages of sin is death, and this man deserves to be punished.'

Jesus took a deep breath and turned to His Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, 'However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and he has accepted Me as his Savior, so he is Mine.'

My Lord continued with, 'His name is written in the Book of Life, and no one can snatch him from Me.
Satan still does not understand yet. This man is not to be given justice, but rather mercy.'

As Jesus sat down, He quietly paused, looked at His Father and said, 'There is nothing else that needs to be done.'

'I've done it all.'

The Judge lifted His mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from His lips...

'This man is free. The penalty for him has already been paid in full. 'Case dismissed.'

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, 'I won't give up, I will win the next one.'

I asked Jesus as He gave me my instructions where to go next, 'Have you ever lost a case?'

Christ lovingly smiled and said, 'Everyone that has come to Me and asked Me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, Paid In Full.'

Pray that Barack Obama finds Jesus Christ.

When Jesus comes!

The "fourth watch" lasts from 3:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. Nighttime is when God does some of His best work! When the Israelites faced the Red Sea, we read, "All that night the Lord drove back the sea" (Ex 14:21 NCV). During "the middle watch" of the night, Gideon defeated the Midianites (See Jdg 7:19-24). Jesus rose from the dead before "daybreak" (See Mt 28:1). Matthew says: "In the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him...they were terrified...immediately Jesus spoke...'Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid'" (Mt 14:25-27 NAS). Notice two important things: (1) Jesus waited until the storm was at its worst and they'd lost all hope. That's because God dictates the timetable for our deliverance, and He's never late. (2) The disciples didn't recognize Him until He revealed Himself to them. Often the answer you need is right beside you, but you don't recognize it until God reveals it to you.

On another occasion, "When...the crowd was pushing in.[Jesus] climbed into the boat that was Simon's...put out...from the shore...[and] using the boat for a pulpit...taught the crowd" (Lk 5:1-3 TM). In that moment it would have been tempting for Peter to feel important, thinking the Master needed his boat. No, God doesn't need anything we have to accomplish His purposes - not our credentials, talent, or resources. So be humble. And don't panic! When Jesus came to the disciples that night He was "walking on the sea." God is on top of the situation. Be at peace; He will do whatever it takes to reach and rescue you. Your problem is just a platform to display His power to act on your behalf!"

Come, Lord Jesus, we need you now........

Prolifer L would you like to pray that the voters of California pass a law that will make the abuse of farm animals illegal? It will mean better living condition for the pregnant cows and pigs and better care for their babies. Maybe it will even turn more of the animal rights community pro-life, seeing a pro-lifer care about all life.

In fact most people in the animal rights community are in my experience pro-life, or at least lean towards the pro-life movement. I think the way we treat our animals and the way we treat our people go hand in hand.

Pray that Barack Obama finds Jesus Christ.

This question has been asked about every candidate for President since the beginning of our country. To determine the answer we must define what a Christian is. A Christian is a person who has accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ, therefore claiming him as their savior. Jesus Christ said himself, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." A Christian is not a person who only accepts the traditions of Christianity as good ideas, but accepts Christ as their only savior. Barack Obama has never openly claimed Jesus Christ as his savior. Barack Obama is quoted as stating "I am a Christian.… So, I have a deep faith. I'm rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people." What this statement really means is "I do not believe Jesus Christ is the only true way to God; whatever religion you believe in is what is true for you". Barack Obama has mislead people to think that he believes in Christ, but when you really look at what Obama is saying, he is denying that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. From Obama's own statements it is easy to delineate that he has a new-world theology view, meaning that there is no true right and wrong, that truth, good, evil, and how to get to heaven are in fact what one's own self-views on the matter are.

Hisman do you think making the abuse of pregnant animals and their newborns illegal will help the human pro-life movement? After all I see humans as animals, animals and humans share the same feelings. A mother pig and a human mother both love their babies, clean them, feed them, care for them. Actually some animals have been known to "adopt"orphaned animals, even of different species, and raise them as their own babies.

Do you think a law protecting the rights of pregnant farm animals and their newborns will prompt more people to join the pro-life movement?

DOES OBAMA CLAIM TO BE A NEW MESSIAH?
Barack Obama has purposely given people the idea that he can be their hope; hope for a better tomorrow, hope for equal rights, hope for change. A man saying he can lead his country is one thing, but a man saying he can be your hope is, although subtle, completely something else. To say that someone can put their hope in a person also requires them to put their faith and trust in that person. Many of Obama's supporters claim him to be their new hope, some even calling him "The One." To call someone "The One" really means that you believe that this is the person who can make our world a better place, heal us, even save us. Oprah has, on multiple occasions, referred to Obama as "The One". Videos of this can be found HERE and HERE. Some people have even outright claimed Obama as their new Savior, which can be found HERE. Be careful who you put your true hope in, for there will be your faith. False saviors will lead you to exactly the opposite place where you think they are taking you.

You, on the other hand, want to discredit Obama's relationship with God. I don't understand how you can do that. You and he might understand Jesus differently, (and might not, actually) but you are both followers of Christ. I'm surprised you are so quick to attack him.

This is old ground. Paul confronted Peter when Peter was bound in hypocrisy and stated that he was condemned. We are commanded to confront error. Barack's whole life is a walking error.

So you finally admit that all your blasphemies and attacks on God are just that, ATTACKS. Well goodness, Hal has finally said something honestly, although unintentionally.

There is nothing about Barack Obama that suggests that he is following the God of the Bible. So he is either reading a different Bible or, he chooses to twist what it means to decieve Christians and gain power. He is doing the latter and this is beyond evil.

He stated that babies could be viewed as punishments: This is a lie.
He has consistently stated that Jesus Christ is not the only way to God: This is a lie.
He is pro-abortion when God is pro-life and the author of all life.
He states that he is not able to determine when life begins when the Bible is crystal clear about it.

His consistent associations with people of questionable character indicates to me that he could care less about bringing shame and reproach on the name of Christ.

His views on homosexuality are an abomination.
He has never once stated or refuted the idea that he is "teh One" or that he is "the messiah".

These are just a few of the issues.

And this too. All i've got to do is look at the people that support Obama like you and Oprah and most of Hollywood to determine that this is not a man of God.

If you've got a problem with that, well, it's tough.

Please try to go convince someone else, someone who doesn't have a clue about the Bible, that Obama is a Christian, because based on what he does and says, he is not.

The Lord Jesus made it very clear when He warned that there can be a mere confession of faith without any real content: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:21-23). The Lord was referring to two completely different things: two that are not enough to save us, and two that are indispensable.

Two Things That Can’t Save Us
Neither mere confession nor the performance of deeds in the name of Jesus is enough to save us for eternity. In so many Christian churches, denominations, missions and organizations, people who do not belong to Jesus pray formal prayers and perform Christian deeds in the name of the Lord. It is alarming that Jesus actually refers to these deeds as misdeeds: “Depart from me, ye that work iniquity!”

Two Things We Need in Order To Be Saved
Two components for salvation are that we must do the will of God and God must know us. Doing the Father’s will does not mean doing larger and smaller good deeds; it means having faith in Jesus Christ. It is the conscious surrender of our lives to Him.

The Jews who lived at that time had plenty of “good deeds” to produce. Many were zealous followers of the Law, people who had studied God’s Word, driven out evil spirits and accomplished miracles. But one thing they did not want to do was believe in Jesus Christ and accept the grace they could receive through Him. They thought they could get to heaven without Him; they believed that God would acknowledge their good deeds and then grant them entry. But with these few words, Jesus dashed all of those hopes. They had to learn to accept that the will of God was for them to declare their own spiritual bankruptcy and believe in Jesus.

We have the same problem today. People who have been born into a Christian environment think they can get to heaven by performing Christian deeds. When told that they are lost, and that their good deeds are misdeeds in God’s eyes, most react with indignance because they think they do not need Jesus personally. When Jesus was asked, “What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” He answered, “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent” (John 6:28-29)

God must know us. There will be people to whom the Lord Jesus will have to say in that day, “I never knew you: Depart from me, ye that work iniquity!”

It is not enough to believe in Jesus superficially or to accept Him only in a manner of speaking. We must have a personal relationship with Him. I could say, “I know Angela Merkel, the Federal Chancellor of Germany.” How do I know her? I’ve seen her on the news. But does she know me? Hardly! If I received a personal invitation to meet her, I naturally would accept it. Only then would I have a personal contact with her, and she would know me personally.

The Lord Jesus invites all people to come to Him personally: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Those who accept this invitation and come to Him with all of their sins will receive Him in their hearts and lives and believe in His name (John 1:12). Those who do that are known to the Father and the Son and will go to heaven: “This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3).

“Thou hast the name that thou lives…and art dead” (Revelation 3:1). Some people call themselves Christians, but they are Christians in name only. The Lord Jesus spoke about such people, who thought they were serving God, but who killed genuine Christians: “They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me” (John 16:2-3).

These people claim theological authority and believe they are serving God, but they know neither the Father nor the Son. That was the case at the time of the Crusaders and the Inquisition. Even today there is a theology that claims all authority for itself and denounces “fundamentalists.” Think about Islam and its many sects, which claim that God has no son.

As far back as 7 B.C., during the time of Jeremiah, there were spiritual dignitaries who were “men of God” in name only. We read Jeremiah’s lamentation: “The priests said not, Where is the Lord? And they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit” (Jeremiah 2:8).

Even a nominal Christian can fall away from his or her profession of faith.

Those who confess Christ with their lips but do not live Christian lives must ask themselves whether they have fallen prey to self-delusion.

Isn’t this just what we are seeing today? Many theologians have departed from the biblical faith and are following convictions that are of no value. They have opened themselves up to religions and spiritual trends that have nothing to do with Jesus Christ. This was also the case for the people of Israel who wandered in the wilderness. After Moses had praised the majesty of God (Deuteronomy 32:3-4), he said of the apostates, “They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation” (verse 5). So even such people who are not His children can fall away from Him.

Of the sons of the priest Eli, we read, “Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the Lord…wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord; for men abhorred the offering of the Lord” (1 Samuel 2:12,17). They did not know the Lord because they abhorred the offerings. As long as a person (however “Christian” he or she may seem) abhors Jesus’ sacrifice for his or her sins, that person does not know the Lord.

The children of Israel left Egypt, but God was not pleased with most of them, which is why they perished in the wilderness (compare 1 Corinthians 10:1-12).

Balaam is a striking example of a man who was a believer in word and deed, yet who was spiritually dead (compare Numbers 22-24):

God revealed Himself to Balaam (22:9).
Balaam was obedient initially (22:12-14).
Balaam claimed to know the Lord and described Him as “his” God (22:18).
Balaam worshipped the Lord (22:31).
Balaam confessed his guilt (22:34).
Balaam was willing to serve (22:38).
God put His words in Balaam’s mouth (23:5).
Balaam blessed Israel three times (chapters 23 and 24).
Balaam testified about God’s truthfulness and faithfulness (23:19).
Balaam spoke three times of the Messiah as the King of Israel (chapters 23:21, 24:7, 17-19).
The Holy Spirit came upon Balaam (24:2).
He testified to being a prophet of God (24:3-4).
Balaam testified to God’s blessing and cursing upon Abraham’s friends and enemies, according to Genesis 12:3.
Balaam put God’s commandment over material goods (24:13).
Balaam spoke prophetically about the future of the nations, about the coming of the Messiah, and spoke about the Roman Empire (Kittim) (24:14-24).
In spite of these facts, Balaam is described in the Bible as being a false prophet, a soothsayer and a deceiver (compare Numbers 31:16; Joshua 13:22; Nehemiah 13:1-3; 2 Peter 2:15-16; Jude 11 and Revelation 2:14-16). Why is this? Because Balaam tolerated compromise and mingling, and he led others to mingle. There was a discrepancy between his words and his deeds: “And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods. And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel” (Numbers 15:1-3). Balaam deceived the people of Israel into mingling with the Moabites (Numbers 31:16, Nehemiah 13:1-3). The Apostle Peter referred to Balaam as a man who “loved the wages of unrighteousness,” Jude identifies him as a deceiver (“the error of Balaam”) and in the book of Revelation he is portrayed as someone who led people to sin.

The Bible says of the endtimes that, “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13). Those who tend to mingle and compromise, and tolerate behavior without any conviction, should ask themselves whether, in spite of a Christian appearance, they are true Christians. By this I do not mean the battle against sin that every child of God must wage. I am not talking about the “defeats” in the fight of faith that all children of God experience. I do mean whether we treat sin indifferently and flippantly, whether we cling to it and do not want to let go of it.

We are not saved by our own works, but by faith in Jesus Christ through our conversion to Him. Only those who have received the Son of God in their hearts and lives in childlike faith will be able to accomplish works that testify to the genuine nature of their faith. This faith must have its “roots” in the Word of God. The Lord Jesus said in His parable of the sower that there are people who will receive the Word of God with joy but have no root and later on fall away (Matthew 13:20-21). The root connects a plant to the earth from which it lives. It gives it stability, absorbs moisture and passes it on to the plant. The root is a picture of the Holy Spirit, through which we are rooted in God. The Holy Spirit passes life to us from God by absorbing food from the Word of God.

We can receive the Word of God superficially, sympathize with it, walk with Christians for a while and yet fall away because we were never really born again and have no “roots.” Jesus said to His disciples, “But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him” (John 6:64). According to Hebrews 6:4-6 there are people who have been “enlightened,” who have “tasted the heavenly gift,” and even “partaken of the Holy Spirit” …yet they will fall away. Why is this?

They were enlightened but never became light themselves. The light can illuminate me and then I may shine, but something more has to happen if I am to become light myself.
They have tasted, but not eaten. I can taste something, but not eat it. It is not enough just to “taste” Jesus. We must receive Him (John 1:12; 6:53-56, 63).
They were partakers of the works of the Holy Spirit, but did not receive Him personally. I can participate in the working of the Holy Spirit by attending a church service, but that is not enough.
I need a true spiritual renewal.
Such people can imitate Christianity for a while and participate in it. But one day they will “fall away” and deny Jesus. Many people ask how that is possible. When the Lord Jesus spoke of eating His flesh and drinking His blood in order to receive eternal life (John 6:53- 59), some of His disciples said, “This is an hard saying; who can hear it?” (verse 60), and turned away from Him (verse 66), although He had explained to them beforehand what this meant: “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (verse 63).

How To Be a True Christian
“We deceive ourselves when we say, ‘We are all Christians!’ When I asked, ‘Why?’ the answer was usually, ‘I have Christian parents’ or even, ‘I had a Christian grandmother’!
Billy Graham used to say, ‘If a person is born in a garage, that doesn’t make him a car!’ And someone who is born into a Christian family is not automatically a Christian” (Wilhelm Busch).

Jesus said to Peter, “I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren” (Luke 22:32). On the one hand, the Lord was confirming Peter’s faith, but on the other hand He was speaking of the necessity of Peter’s future conversion. Peter could have said, “Lord, I am a Jew, a son of Abraham. I live according to the commandments, was circumcised on the eighth day, pray three times a day, keep the feast of the Passover and bring sacrifices. I have been following You for almost threeyears!” Yet that track record wasn’t enough; he had to be converted. The Apostle Paul had been zealous for the law, but he had to be converted, just as all the other apostles and disciples.

Every person who wants to be saved needs to be converted—even those who call themselves “Christians,” whether they are members of the Roman Catholic Church, Protestant, Evangelical or Free Church, even if they have been brought up in a Christian family. Many Christians are born into Christianity, just as Jews are born into Judaism, but the birth in itself does not provide salvation. Only a new birth does this: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). In spite of baptism, confirmation, church attendance and participation in Holy Communion, we have to be converted; if this does not happen, we are lost.

When the Apostle Peter was later converted, and had experienced the new birth, he wrote in his first letter, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you” (1 Peter 1:3-4).

Those who have the testimony of the Holy Spirit that they have been born again (Romans 8:16) should rejoice over this assurance and thank Jesus Christ for it. Those who do not have this clear testimony of the Holy Spirit, and yet think they are Christians, could be making a big mistake. Such “Christians” can attain an assurance of salvation today, however, by turning to Jesus Christ. Why wait any longer?

The case against Barack Obama is overwhelming and has nothing to do with race. He is by all accounts the most radical candidate for President in our history. The most extreme liberal on a host of issues, from abortion to gun control to appeasement in the face of tyranny.

But this policy extremism is packaged in a smooth, articulate, calm and conservative demeanor. He slaps and insults conservatives with one sentence and reassuringly talks about unity in the next. I don't believe most of America is aware of what kind of presidency we would have under Barack Obama.

John McCain is an open book. Motivated by conservative instincts, but more pragmatic than ideological. Feisty and unpredictable. Motivated by an intense sense of duty, and filled with an energy level and determination unusual in men of any age. Tested and ready to lead.

At the end of the day, it's difficult for me to believe we would elect a President whose victory would set off celebrations among the terrorists who desire to destroy America.

Second of all, I actually don't care about his abortion views. I'd vote for him even if he was prolife. My respect and support for Obama is much bigger and more profound than one or two issues.

Thanks for your kind words and backhanded compliments. There are some things I'm conservative about, in a libertarian sort of way. I don't like McCain-Fiengold, for example, or the "Fairness Doctrine."

I could have voted for the McCain of 2000. I have really put a lot of thought and energy into understanding Obama and his wide appeal. That's why I often posted conservatives who endorsed him, I found those discussions very interesting and compelling. I appreciate the anti-Obama mood around here,because he is pro-choice. His other positions should not provoke such wrath.

I give the o'bama (pbuh) props and creds for his oratorical skills, his charisma, and his intelligenece. Just graduating from law school, let alone Harvard, requires more than average intelligence. I question the o'bama's integrity.

From the things you have written, you seem to be intellectually honest and consistent. I would vote for you for president before I would vote for the o'bama. That is not a backhanded compliment. It says a heck of a lot more about you than it does about him.

Though you measure you words before you use them, you are not calculating.
