Lila did a superb job with talking points. O'Reilly latched on to her point that abortion profiteers may advance sexual abuse of minor girls by committing clandestine abortions - covering up the crime - and sending the girls back into the clutches of her sexual predator, who will not only escape prosecution for his past rape(s) but repeat the abuse.
O'Reilly tossed aside the important point that Planned Parenthood gets over $300 million a year in taxpayer funding and should be defunded.
O'Reilly also took a subliminal swipe at pro-lifers at the end. Or perhaps I'm too sensitive. "What say you?" as he would say.
Comments:
Funny - O'Reilly is concerned about protecting the woman - the nurse, but doesn't do anything to protect Lila.
Of course, Lila's making herself PPA enemy #1, and I'm sure they'll be putting up her photo in the PP clinics across the country.
Time perhaps for some other courageous young women to step up?
Posted by: Chris Arsenault at December 5, 2008 7:28 AMI didn't get that sense of swiping at prolifers, Jill.
It's not the first time Lila chose to show her face.
Given the amount of harassment average citizens have received from this past election (Joe the Plumber, the Ohio state worker, the pro-Obama teacher in NC) I think Bill wanted to avoid that scenario.
Although he certainly wasn't obligated to do so.
Posted by: carder at December 5, 2008 7:40 AMGod bless Lila. She is definitely making many enemies, and needs our prayers and support. I truly hope she has an unlisted number and never travels alone at night, because there are PP promoters out there who wish her physical harm. She is quite a thorn in the lion's paw, while still in college!
I can't wait to watch her next 20 years. I wonder what lucky organization will get her after she graduates. Jill, are you hiring anyone? ;)
Agreed Jill - Lila did an outstanding job of staying right on point.
Why did Fox cut the age segment on the clip? That seems to be critical for making the case, yet that undermines the effectiveness of the allegation. The nurse had already heard the age, so it shows genuine denial of what she clearly heard (like a lot of abortion-choicers here who deny reality).
Even if Lila were lying about pregnancy, the nurse and PP are violating state law, by the nurse's own admission - so O'Reilly is completely wrong on that point in dismissing the charge.
Posted by: Chris Arsenault at December 5, 2008 7:57 AMPlanned Parenthood isn't in trouble for breaking the law. At most they would be guilty of conspiracy to break the law.
As for O'Reilly... pathetic. I didn't sense a jab at pro-lifers but his "I don't care about the money" comment provides insight into his character.
Posted by: Cranky Catholic at December 5, 2008 8:44 AMThe jab I saw, while I'm sure unintentional, was O'Reilly's statement that they blurred nurse Diane's face because he "didn't want anything bad to happen to her," subliminally promoting the falsehood that pro-lifers are violent.
(And actually O'Reilly didn't blur Diane's image, Lila did.)
Posted by: Jill Stanek at December 5, 2008 8:55 AMThe sexual crime against women is a much greater issue than the money. Planned parenthood is much smaller than Budweiser. A 13 year old getting hold of a beer is not for the most part an event that leads to death.
There is clear evidence that to support abortion or choice means to support the coverup of rape and victums. sex trafficking.
Jill, at first I thought the context of "didn't want anything bad to happen to that woman" was O'Reilly's concern for how Planned Parenthood would treat the employee caught on tape. But now that you mention it, I see your point and have to agree.
At least FOX credited Lila as a "Pro-Life Filmmaker" rather than "Anti-Abortion Filmmaker."
Posted by: Cranky Catholic at December 5, 2008 9:05 AMDid you read how the founder of fox news thinks that Bill O. is a windbag. I think your fav host may have jumped the shark, jill. It's sad that you don't realize this. Everytime you point to him as some barometer of truth, the sense that you live in reality slips a bit.
Posted by: Yo La Tengo at December 5, 2008 9:14 AMAfter further review...
Let's consider standing behind O'Reilly on this one for the following reason.
None of the other MSM will touch it.
If a few others will touch it they will attack O'reilly and Lisa.
Michelle Malkin has passed the LA times and she is conservative. These stories are a further drag on people that are fed up with the NYT and liberal rags that cover nothing but lasciviousness.
Reason not to support O'Reilly?
Not blunt enough?
Lisa was a fine centerpiece for the story.
Posted by: xppc at December 5, 2008 9:19 AMI just love to post right after a radical, far out extremist porabort, it makes my post look so much better.
That young woman, Lila Rose, is a true heroine in my eyes. She is doing more in a month than most prolife organizations do in ten years with less money than they spend in a day. She's absolutely amazing, and the best testimony to the effect she is having is the bitter, highly emotional attacks on her by proaborts.
PP has already tried to take her to court once, they will probably try it again. And, contrary to Bill O'Reilly's opinion, prolifers like her are the ones in danger of violence, not baby killers like that nurse. That nurse is completely safe, but maybe O'Reilly is more concerned about being sued than about her being the victim of "bad things".
Lila Rose deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom, but I don't see the typical prolife groups even acknowledging her achievements. To her credit, Jill is way ahead of them.
Posted by: Doyle Chadwick at December 5, 2008 9:23 AMxppc, I thought my post would appear right after Yo La's post.... ;)
Posted by: Doyle Chadwick at December 5, 2008 9:24 AMJill,
I agree with your interpretation of O'Reilly's statement at the end. It could go both ways. Lila Rose did a wonderful job as usual. The segment seemed rushed though, and O'Reilly seemed uncomfortable at times.
His dismissing of the issue of tax payer funding of PP, "I don't care about the money", may have actually been a good thing in that he has brought attention to it without appearing uncaring about the main issue - unreported rape of an underage girl. We're talking about it aren't we?
Posted by: Janet at December 5, 2008 9:48 AMI lost respect for O'Reilly since he gave Obama a pass on his interview with him. But, at least he covered the story.
Posted by: Jasper at December 5, 2008 10:02 AMO'Reilly has always been uncomfortable going after the radical feminists. Being Catholic, he probably has some close relatives who are insane radical God-hating nutjobs who keep on calling themselves "Catholic" for whatever reason, so that might explain his reluctance.
And I am seriously worried about Lila Rose. I can easily see the Democrats trumping up some kind of phony charges against her if they get too worried about what she's doing. Just look at Joe the Plumber; he asked a question that Obama didn't like, so Democrat politicians illegally looked into his records to see if there was anything they could use against him. These people are dangerous and have no regard for the law.
Posted by: John Lewandowski at December 5, 2008 10:10 AMThats true John, we have to remember how ruthless these people are. It wouldn't surprize me if they went after Lila.
Posted by: Jasper at December 5, 2008 10:28 AMWhat an excellent job, Lila!! You are in my thoughts and prayers as you continue exposing PP.

============================================
I don't think that would work...Lila seems to come in disguise everytime she does an undercover op/ sting, anyway...
More power to you, Lila and God Bless!!
It appears Bill O'Reilly isn't so interested in conveying the pro-life message, as much as he finds the event an audience attention grabber, another "feather in his cap" so to speak. I could be wrong, but that's the way it comes across - a newsman riding the wave of the latest controversy. Jill's observation about protecting the nurse's identity from a "pro-life" assault seems correct. Why take credit for something you didn't do? Again possible he may have thought it blurred by his own editors.
Cranky - good observation, obviously playing off the name of the group "Live Action Films" - which is somewhat a misnomer. While it captures the important point of being "live action" and not staged, to call it a "film" wrongly suggests something that is staged. Might be better to call them a "Live Action Report" or such. It's doubtful Fox would call her a "Live Action Reporter", although that's far more accurate.
Yes - as my experience as a sidewalk counselor - we have had 14 year olds come in for abortions - and they have freely admitted that their boyfriends were 18 years or older. This is not unusual. We have had many 16 year olds also...
We are at a Illinois clinic here near the Indiana border - and Indiana apparently has a waiting period also. Some women do not want to wait to have their abortions, and come across the state lines to Illinois to move sooner on their abortions...
Also - Lila Rose is a hero! We have heard that our own Planned Parenthood has had her picture up in their waiting room, to ID her just in case!
We applaud her efforts - and support her all the way.
It's vitally important to expose what Planned Parenthood is willing to do in skirting the law - and they will continue to get away with it until enough people catch them on tape, just like this sting operation...
Go Lila Go!

Just curious, have you reported this to the police?
Posted by: Janet at December 5, 2008 4:45 PMI thought Bill was rude.
Posted by: Carla at December 5, 2008 5:13 PMJanet:
Yes we tried to - and the officers we were asking for advice were not on duty at the time...
Another time when the police were called to PP on another matter (when the nurses demanded the car keys from a man at the clinic, because he had 'buyer's remorse' over his girlfriend's abortion)... I did ask the atttending officer if the fore-mentioned cases were something that we could report, and asked his advice.
He stated that unless we had the exact name and information about a girl at the time, and there was not much they could do. He thought that the statute in Illinois was not as well-written as it could have been...
Usually, we only have the first name of the girl and what they or their driver tells us.
... but if we videotaped all the incidents (thereby providing a picture of the girl and her/their words exactly), we would have more details and information and the police could possibly pursue things.

OMG, you two are riding the crazy bus today.
Posted by: hal at December 5, 2008 6:41 PMI actually think concealing the nurses identity could relate to the threat of violence from parents of children who were victims of pedophilia or parents of children who had abortions without their knowledge in spite of the law. I don't think it necessarily implied violence from pro-lifers.
Posted by: Erin H at December 5, 2008 6:52 PMOne of the reasons PP built that new mega-abortion fortress with bullet proof glass in Aurora was to ship in teens from Indiana to Illinois where obfuscation of Parental notification wins the day. Well not every parent needs the law to serve justice and PP will get their theirs when they cross the wrong father (one that cares deply for his minor daughter that PP mutilates). The abortion industry in Illinois is winning the legal battle and getting just what they want; what they don't seem to realize is that their obfuscation of the will of the people of the land leaves the citizens vulnerable and it like a time bomb waiting to go off.
Posted by: truthseeker at December 5, 2008 6:58 PM"OMG, you two are riding the crazy bus today."
Like, OmiGAWD, I guess we imagined it when Joe the Plumber was blackballed for asking a question that the Holy One didn't approve of.
Posted by: John Lewandowski at December 5, 2008 10:48 PMPlus, much like Sarah Palin, Lila Rose is a beautiful woman who is pro-life. That is an unforgivable sin among pro-aborts. The pro-aborts CONTINUE to do everything they can to destroy Palin, and if she becomes too much of a threat, they'll do the same with Rose.

Wouldn't you think that parents living in states adjacent to Illinois (for example) would be screaming for the Illinois governor to get on the ball and enforce the (already passed) Parental Notification Law????? It makes no sense that THE POLITICIANS IN ILLINOIS DO NOT CARE ABOUT ABORTION.
Janet,
In Illinois' everything legal and everything political is based on hand-greasing. the phenomenon is known as the Democratic machine and it is headed to Washington DC. Lord have mercy in the US of A.
