New Notre Dame Fight Song

From RealCatholicTV.com...

Comments:

In light of the controversy and the irreconcilable damage being done to Notre Dame and, if Obama had any class whatsoever and wasn't a narcissist, he would rescind the invitation himself or.....

Perhaps this guy is THE ANTI-CHRIST and this is just practice before he goes into the Temple at Jerusalem and calls himself God.

Oh my, oh my, oh my.........come quickly Lord Jesus.

Woah now, little buddy. We've still got a little ways to go before the End Times. You just cool right on down.

Posted by: Leah at March 26, 2009 11:25 AM

Based on what, Leah? I don't know that end times are now, but certainly all of the preconditions have been met to set things in motion.

Demeaning another person's beliefs by calling him a "little buddy" and telling him to "cool right on down" is pretty low.

Obama was invited by Notre Dame to speak. He accepted. I don't think it would be very classy or nice to back out on the commitment. The University wants him there. If they change their mind, he should accept that decision too.

Leah:

No offense taken, my mom used to talk to me like that as well and I loved her. However, it is foolish to ignore the signs of the times, the most obvious of which is the explosion in the number of Jews coming to faith in Messiah Yeshua, something most Christians don;t realize. The numbers are literally astronomical and it's happening all over the world. In fact, the curve is exponential (I studied differential equations).

This has NEVER, EVER before happened in history as it is happening now.

We should all look up to heaven for our redemption is near.

"I studied differential equations"

Oh yeah! In fact, being the stud that you are, I think we established that you knew more about them then I do!

Oh Hal:

Earning your Obama points today?

What's the sales incentive this month, a glass statue of Obama?

Or perhaps the sleeves Michelle cut off her dress, framed and signed?

Posted by: HisMan at March 26, 2009 11:43 AM

Hey Studly:

Don't make me spank you......ds/dt, ds/dt, ds/dt, look into my eyes.....you will obey me.......differentially

God love you.

HisMan, I'm doing it all for you. Just you. I'm trying to save you from yourself.

Posted by: Hal at March 26, 2009 11:58 AM

HisMan: You're right--I apologize for "talking" to you like that, it was very rude of me. (talking is in quotes because I'm typing... not to be snide or anything)

Elisabeth: I am not God, so I cannot know, but not all the signs of the End Times are here, so I'm not all that worried about it.

Question, for interest's sake (anyone can answer): What is the Christian belief about the Apocalypse/End Times/whatever? In Islam we pray to not be alive when End Times begins because it is going to be a very, very violent and bloody affair (from what I understand). Do Christians hope that it comes within this lifetime?

Again, I apologize, HisMan. Please forgive me.

Leah,

Although I am definitely no expert, I believe the standard Christian belief is that the true Christians will be "taken" just prior to the apocolypse with the remaining population attempting to survive and possibly repent and be saved.

Hal,
ND has obviously put themselves in a difficult position. To allow ND to "save face", Obama should respectfully decline in light of this controversy. Then ND could decide how to procede from there. That would be the "presidential" thing for Obama to do.

Maybe he could hit up the Carson Daily show instead.

Leah:

No need to ask forgiveness I was not offended.

There are numerous interpretations of the End Times.

There is a-, pre-, post, mid-millennialism and everything in between.

The bottom line is that Jesus came as the Lamb of God offering eternal life and will be coming back as a Warrior King to judge the world. Jesus said that only the Father knew the day and the hour but that it would come as a thief in the night.

My duty is to be ready and waiting for His return not to know everything about it, however, I should continue to be open to learning more and more.

The more important point is to believe that Christ is the Son of God, the Savior, the Messiah.

Hal:

I appreciate that. The truth is, my concern and love for you, despite the rascal you are, keeps me coming back. You are a challenge or should I say a thorn in my side?

I will say this, you do know how to get under my skin, you know, just like a little one of those pesky mites.

Gotta go for awhile guys, stay safe.

Janet, I see no evidence that ND regrets the invitation.

Posted by: Hal at March 26, 2009 1:12 PM

When did Janet say that ND regreted the invitation? Its about saving face, not about regret.

Example,

Tom wants to cheat on his wife with his coworker Sally. Sally declines to save Tom's reputation as much as possible EVEN THOUGH Tom does not regret the invitation to adultery.

Understand?

Posted by: Oliver at March 26, 2009 1:20 PM

Hal,

I did not say that ND regrets the invitation. There is a sticky situation that will need to be resolved somehow. The best solution would allow each side to avoid humiliation in the process.

Here's an interesting explanation of "face" and "saving face".

I'm a pan-millenialist.... God is in control, so it's all gonna pan out in the end!

Seriously though, whether one believes in a pre-, mid- or post-trib rapture is all speculation. The fact is, yes, we Christians DO want the Lord to return, even if it means that we endure suffering and persecution for a time.

I would be interested in knowing what pre-conditions for the end times you believe have not been met?

Don't take my side HisMan!!

That isn't the standard Christian belief- It's crap that just emerged this past century. The Church for the first 1900+ years beleived and most still belief that Christ only comes back once. He doesn't gather the beleivers, alive and dead, allow the apocolypse and then come back to rule and reign. We have to endure it like everyone else. It's not a fun thought, but it's the truth.

Posted by: Jacqueline at March 26, 2009 5:47 PM

Sounds like there are different versions out there. How does anyone know which one is "the truth"?

Hey, maybe it will all go down in accordance with your individual beliefs but in a different dimension. That would be pretty cool. That way everyone gets there way! And for those of us that don't believe in the "End Times" we inherit the earth! ;)
