Bernadette P.
Bernadette has been working with us for 5 weeks already, doing a wonderful job with (Prolifer)ations . We're glad to have her on board! About herself, Bernadette writes:
I have 2 awesome beagles: JoJo and Ella. They are my life! Everyone calls me the beagle mommy.I am studying psychology and sociology. I work as a volunteer for the Animal Defense League, Compassion International, and the National Runaway Switchboard. I am also addicted to Christian music: Hillsong United, BarlowGirl and Brooke Fraser are some of my faves!
Andy M....
Andy has just come on board and hails from New Zealand! His first excellent post with us focused on Al Gore and iPS, and we look forward to more.
Andy writes:
I grew up in a Christian family and was home-educated from age 10 to 18, at which time my family took a 6 month trip around the world. This affected my outlook on the world and life in general. Shortly after arriving back in my hometown of Christchurch, I became involved in the fight against the nanny-state "anti-smacking" bill which was on its way through Parliament. This was a turning-point in my life; the first time I had taken an interest in politics or any form of social-action.In 2007 I became aware of Abort73.com, bought some of their t-shirts and began to "own" the abortion issue, also blogging and talking about it with friends. Later, a good friend and I took orders from young Kiwis for the t-shirts, importing them from the States. This developed into a website and a small group of young people spread throughout NZ. Today we have a national Prolife NZ group, and in February of this year, we launched our first campus group. (For NZ, it is an exciting time - the last pro-life youth society faded away several years ago.)
I'm studying political science and am a member of a church which places a healthy emphasis on the Bible. My favourite band and quotation are Poor Old Lu and "All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke.
Heather B.
Heather is our newest intern and is excited to get started. We're glad to have her! About herself, Heather writes:
I am a college sophomore studying psychology and music. I love all things musical theater, dance and pro-life, and my writings have been seen in various local and national publications. As co-author of the Teen's Study Guide to Educating on the Nature and Dignity Of Women (ENDOW) and former co-director of Teens for Life, I enjoy sharing my passion for writing with my drive for youth ministry.I have participated in several essay contests, including my state's RTL Parental Notification Essay Contest in 2006, for which I earned the 1st place prize in my age division. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to put my research skills to use in order to pioneer the pro-life movement!
Please join us in welcoming and encouraging our pro-life interns!
