I wrote several times in February about the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital's plans to commit late-term abortions because the city's late-term abortionist was vamoosing.
These plans were hatched privately, but when made public all hell broke loose. Today Wisconsin Right to Life launched the 1st of 3 ads in the Wisconsin State Journal aimed at what it now knows are UW Madison's soft spots. Click to enlarge:
WIRTL knows UW Madison's pressure points thanks to internal emails gotten with difficulty by Matt Bowman of the Legal Defense Fund via the Freedom of Information Act. In a nutshell, the hospital system is afraid with good reason of losing staff, doctors and patients ($$)....
Matt has boiled down 147 pages of previously secret emails to these bullet points:
Jeff Grossman: "We need to track cancellations as accurately as possible...When all this began I told Laurel and Caryn that we could not put our whole operation at economic risk to achieve their goals."
Comments:
This is some good news. It's a pity. Most nurses would sooner quit than partake in an abortion procedure. Their right to refuse should never be taken away. Get it? Right to choose?
Posted by: heather at May 14, 2009 4:08 PM"The emails show UW's public relations department admitting even "pro-choice" people oppose this plan because most of these late term abortions are completely elective. This is hurting them because they have absolutely no response to the objection that these late term abortions are medically unnecessary."
But....but.....I thought late-term abortions were ONLY done for reasons such as to save the mother's life, or because the baby has been diagnosed with complications incompatible with life. I mean even Rosie O'Donnell said so on TV.
Interesting to see that someone in the pro-choice community has let this little lie slip.
Great ad !
Posted by: Leslie Hanks at May 14, 2009 4:37 PMHi Sandy,
Is this the same Rosie O'Donnell who was blissfully ignorant of the fact that the guards she hires to protect her children carry guns?
Apparently she thought they used rolled up newspapers.
This came to light after Rosie took part in a large anti-gun demonstration. Apparently guns are fine when they protect her home and family.
Whenever it comes to Rosie, always consider the source.
Posted by: Mary at May 14, 2009 4:45 PMHi Mary,
I can always count on you for a chuckle!!
YESSSSSSS! Since I live in WI I will say that again!
YESSSSSSS!
I am a graduate of Wisconsin and recently received a telephone solicitation from the alumni association and did I enjoy telling them they would never get a penny from me due to their recent decision and the solicitor could not get off the phone fast enough
Posted by: Maria at May 14, 2009 5:25 PMThat is great news. Nothing succeeds better than a boycott it seems.
Life Decisions International has the names of companies and charitable organizations who donate to Planned Parenthood. Some of the names on the list are shocking.... like Disney!
Also it's pro life day in Canada and there is a virtual news blackout of the rallies. I'm on my way to church shortly for a fund raising dinner for the Victoria Right to Life.
Can't say I'm surprised the media is ignoring this. Our local media did, however, mention a DOG walk coming up this weekend.

Posted by: carder at May 14, 2009 7:48 PMAbsolutely fantastic work by Matt Bowman and WI RTL! If anyone questioned that this is a war fought on many fronts, this is a classic example of excellent research or reconnaissance, a well-conceived strategic plan and persistent execution.
You've got two nut-job serial killers in Dutton & Rice trying to force their radical genocidal agenda through what is probably an otherwise very respectable medical facility. (I don't know if they perform 1st & 2nd trimester murders.)
Matt & WI RTL, thank you for your fine example of how to make an impact for L!fe.
Posted by: Ed at May 14, 2009 8:26 PMGovernment schools. losing alumni contributions hurt. The other one is when private hospitals are purchased by for profit chains, a lot of wills forget to donate. This hopefully will cost millions. What a price to pay.
Posted by: xppc at May 14, 2009 9:52 PMThe silent protest. Many patients have choices and just set appointments elswhere. I have never heard of a patient calling in to announce they are not making an appointment. The docs are upset in that they were not informed. welcome to Obama care. They will go to Central Planning for mandatory indoctrination.
What would make them imagine Obama care would consider input from service providors.
The people in Wisconsin are less jaded then the city folks so they are still sensitive to a woman intentionally killing her own baby in the womb.
Posted by: truthseeker at May 14, 2009 10:48 PMI read a lot of the e-mails. Yes, except for the uber liberal school, Madison is good people and sensible values. I suspect I should e-mail and ask where would be some preferred places to park when we come do the side walk work. Hospitals are not expecting the signs and protests that PP attracks. Weather is fine right now for walking in front of the hospital. I am sure some other patients would notice. Oh well. That is consequences of a bad decision.
Posted by: xppc at May 14, 2009 11:39 PMWhen I spoke at UW-Madison two days after the election there were Obama signs EVERYWHERE. Very liberal campus. City folk and country folk know where to go to kill their own.
Posted by: Carla at May 15, 2009 7:04 AMCarla, good AM to you. Yes. Good old liberal Cleveland is just the same. We have a lot of AA here. Familiar with Lebron James? {basketball great} He and JZ gave a free concert and autograph signing in exchange for people to vote for Obama.
Posted by: heather at May 15, 2009 7:13 AMIs late-term the same as partial-birth? Up to what age, are they talking about, here?
Posted by: m ballentine at May 15, 2009 7:19 AMTo clarify my above post AA..African Americans.
Posted by: heather at May 15, 2009 7:24 AMGood morning, Heather!!
m ballentine,
Laurel Rice, chair of UW's dept. of obstetrics and gynecology, testified she expected the new center to do about 120-125 abortions annually approximately 19-22 weeks gestation. MOST of them would be done in cases of rape or incest or on disabled babies.
The others I am assuming are done on perfectly healthy babies. I am not sure just HOW they will murder the children.
Posted by: Carla at May 15, 2009 7:26 AM"19-22 weeks gestation. MOST of them would be done in cases of rape or incest or on disabled babies."
did they define "Most"?
Like 10%, like most other late term providers.
The only area in medicine where 10% is most.
Posted by: hippie at May 15, 2009 8:15 AMHi Carla 7:26am
Laurel Rice knows this to be a fact, how? Does she have any sources to back her claim or is she a prophet?
Posted by: Mary at May 15, 2009 10:46 AMShe's a prophet. :)
Posted by: Carla at May 15, 2009 11:48 AMwe should find the pictures of these 2 beasts Caryn Dutton and Laurel Rice and post them...
Posted by: Jasper at May 15, 2009 12:33 PMUnborn children in the second trimester of pregnancy are almost fully formed and have brain functions and limb movements.
“They yawn, roll over, and touch their faces,” the ADF letter said, adding that ultrasounds have showed them playing and swimming in the womb.
According to the ADF, second-trimester abortions are usually performed using “dilation and evacuation” methods:
“[T]he abortionist rips the child’s arms and legs off piecemeal and pulls them out with forceps. These dismemberments are followed by the child’s torso and head, the latter of which is sometimes so large that it needs to be crushed until the baby’s brains are observed flowing out of the uterus.”
Additionally, the ADF claimed that University of Wisconsin medical residents are expected to train and take part in the killing of unborn children in the second trimester of gestation.
The second-term abortions “will likely be used to train medical residents to dismember second-trimester babies, and they may well serve as a fresh source of baby body parts for various UW research projects as has occurred in the past,” the ADF added.
Posted by: Jasper at May 15, 2009 12:52 PMDefend Jasper's 4th paragraph prochoicers!! Defend the indefensible....
Posted by: Carla at May 15, 2009 1:30 PM"until the baby's brains are observed flowing out of the uterus."
Hal? Reality? Bystander? Danielle? What say ye??
Let me guess........it's a woman's right to choose to have her baby's arms and legs ripped off and skull crushed UNTIL THE BABY'S BRAINS ARE OBSERVED FLOWING OUT OF THE UTERUS!
Lord, help us.
Posted by: Carla at May 15, 2009 3:43 PMCarla, that is indeed hard to read!
