Congressmen tell Obama to put money where mouth was on Notre Dame speech

Yesterday Congressmen Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and Chris Smith (R-NJ) held a press conference and sent a letter to President Obama, asking him to heed the words of his own speech at Notre Dame on the issue of healthcare conscience protections.

They also called Obama out on his oft-repeated phrase of late, that of wanting to reduce the number of women needing abortions. No, that's not quite right, wrote the congressmen. Pretty savvy letter. Click to enlarge.

Gibbs "what President Obama really meant to say" was change your conscience.

People read. They have learned in the last few months the truth about aborrtion and the BAIPA that Obama relished.

Obama also know that in those few months, the opponents of abortion have grown. 51%, 23% reject abortion any way any time no exceptions.

If he loses more in the next few months, he may be begging to talk.

Nope, not gonna happen.

Health care providers already have conscience protections. There's no need for the Bush rule, which was opposed by the AMA and several other medical organizations. It was nothing but a back-door way to remove Planned Parenthood's funding and stop states from providing EC to rape victims. Good riddance to that awful, disgusting idea.

Health care providers already have conscience protections.

The fact that organizations with a political agenda side with PBHO doesn't mean the organization represents the views of all its members. Nice try.

You know this is about ENFORCING protections, reality. Would you say that we already have laws against racial discrimination so we can remove the means to enforce them? Nice spin.

Both these men are heros. And they both represent very democratic states. Well done!

Be careful of Obama's rhetoric. He told the Notre Dame audience, (which did include Catholics who are pro-life, and some "on the fence" pro-lifers,) "let's work together to reduce the number of women seeking abortions". This probably implies more and more free birth control, morning after pills, sterilization, etc., all of which does not neccessarily protect women's health or liberate them from abuse or poverty. He also never acknowledged the massive success rates of pregnancy care centers that are primarily Christian funded. Did he promise government assistance or protection to pro-life organizations that are helping women escape the nightmare of abortion? No, he did not. His speech, like all his speeches and those of his administration, are grooming us for the "utopia" of National Socialist Eugenics. Period.
