Perhaps PETA feels more kinship with flies than with unborn babies?

The sheer delight in killing anything is disturbing. I take my insects outside. Then again I don't dismember my babies either.

I wonder why some people pick and choose which qualities of Francis of Assisi they will emulate? Francis himself, though he is remembered most for his rapport with all creatures, became holy through his emulation of Jesus Christ (who, as God incarnate, favors the creatures made in His image and likeness) So, lets recognize there IS a hierarchy of importance here. It's unconscionable that anyone should be murdering the tiniest of humans. "Whatever you do to the LEAST of my BRETHREN, you do unto Me." Matthew 25:40

Does PETA like to feed their flies with the remains of dead babies? We could probably find instances of such in Michigan, Florida etc.

I think Bruce needs to be put on trial for showering because he's killing millions of bacterial "animals". War crimes and all.

I'm with Jacqueline: killing any animal, including a fly, is a sad end to a life. I'm also with her in that I oppose the killing of unborn HUMAN animals. It ain't one or the other, folks...

Does PETA have a stance on abortion? If so, does anyone know what it is?

Does PETA even want us to "save" those mosquitoes that are annoying and bite us? Or what about the ticks that can cause LYME DISEASE?

I read that PETA wants to buy Tiller's abortuary. I'd rather see it turned into a Abortion Holocaust Museum.

Not officially. Ingrid Newkirk isn't my fave person in the world, as she once reportedly told a pregnant colleague, "You should go and kill that thing." SOME people from PETA supported ESCR, wondering, "Well, what would be wrong with that?" and lauding ESCR as an alternative to animal research -- which it isn't, since animal studies are USED in embryonic research. But I'm sure a poll of all PETA members would reveal all sorts of viewpoints on abortion.

Even if PETA WERE pro-choice, one could reasonably disagree with the organization on that issue while agreeing with it on animal rights.

When I first heard pbho had killed a fly I had this mental picture of him lashing out with his forked tongue and snatching the bug in mid flight and then sitting back and licking his eyebrows.

Is it there any difference between killing a maggot or waiting till the larva matures and killing the fly.

If you advocate protecting flies simply because they are alive, then you have to adopt one, before you can actually criticize those who kill them indiscriminately.

You obviously haven't seen my Twiddlebugs' home outside my bedroom window. We got the idea from watching SESAME STREET.

Jesus grew up in a Jewish culture. As the son of an observant Jewish mother and step father he would have eaten lamb at least once a year at the Passover seder.

Jesus stood by and watched as heard of swine ran head long off a cliff and drowned themselves.

Jesus fed thousands 'fish'. Jesus assisted his disciples in their attempts to catch fish, which were killed and sold for food.

After His resurrection Jesus prepared a meal of fish for His disciples.

Jesus was not a vegan. Jesus never spoke against eating fish, fowl or meat.

In fact HE went so far as saying it is not what goes in your mouth and through your digestive tract that defiles you, but rather, the words that come out of your mouth.

Jesus said the Father cares more for humans than HE does for non-humans.

But if for the sake of conscience you can not eat the flesh of a formerly living creature that is fine. If that is your faith, so be it unto you.

I will respect your conscience. Just do not come to my house unannounced at meal time, your conscience might be offended.

I heard a preacher say one time that he mentioned in the course of his sermom that a little wine is good for you.

After the service a lady came up to him and fussed at him for implicitly approving of the consumption of alcohol.

The preacher pointed out to her that Jesus was raised a Jew and as such would have consumed wine at least once a year at Passover.

The lady said she was well aware of the fact and that she thought less of Jesus for drinking alcohol.

I'd like to clarify something:

Obama may think himself compassionate to animal welfare issues, but he himself is not a supporter of animal rights. If he were, he would not eat their flesh and drink their bodily excretions.

They have official documented what will be Obama's greatest moment in his Presidency. Well done.

LOL. Knew as soon as I saw this there'd be PETA reaction, but my first thought was: poor fly, not his fault he has a natural attraction to what's coming out of BHO's mouth (likely of a bovine variety)...
