  • Planned Parenthood thinks abortion coverage is in the healthcare homestretch

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards sent the following email this afternoon, which appears to breathe a sigh of relief - the worst is over, the other side has just one more hurdle to jump to ensure public funded abortion coverage is included in nationalized healthcare.

Furthermore, the email confirms 8 different ways (highlighted and circled) what they've steadfastly denied: Abortion coverage is part of the plan. Click to enlarge...

Randall Terry street drama enacts Pelosi and Reid agonizing in hell

Randall Terry photo 2, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, abortion, healthcare.jpgYesterday morning as staffers exited the Metro station near the Cannon House Office Building in DC, they were welcomed to their work day by a ghoulish street drama: Randall Terry and followers enacting Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi being tortured in hell.

According to Talking Points Memo the group shouted: "Staffers, Hill rats, join Nancy Pelosi in hell!" and "Kill the bill, not babies."

Terry's press release (with contact person Catherine Veritas, clever), stated they were warning Pelosi and Reid of a "wrath to come" for pushing the "child-killing in healthcare." Here's video:

Terry's presser further stated his group planned to take their street play to Pelosi's office. Don't know if that happened.

What I find troubling in all this is while the other side scoffs at Terry, and we pro-lifers back away in embarrassment, the day may actually come when Pelosi and Reid find themselves in hell and remember this. Then it won't be so funny.

Jivin J reported earlier this week on Terry's Pelosi/Reid Halloween "Burn in hell" video contest.

    Actor Scott Baio: Pro-life

Was perusing Twitter last night and spotted this (click to enlarge)...

    Scott Baio, abortion, pro-life 1.jpg

My first thought was cooksandbooks is an idiot. Cookie is lucky to be alive and doesn't get that she is merely a survivor of prenatal Russian roulette.

Then I backed up and noticed she was responding to RealScottBaio, and I thought... the real Scott Baio? Chachi?

Sure enough, I verified Baio's Twitter account, and here's what he tweeted that made cooks boil over...

    Scott Baio, pro-life, abortion, pro-choice.jpg

Scott Baio family photo, pro-life, abortion.jpgIt turns out Baio is a hardcore conservative.

The interesting thing is I prepared this post last night, and this morning that tweet is gone. For whatever reason Baio - or his agent - apparently decided it best to remain underground with his pro-life convictions.

That's really too bad. Because when checking into Baio a little bit I found he and wife Renee founded The Bailey Baio Angel Foundation following a (thankfully) mistaken adverse newborn diagnosis of their daughter Bailey, now almost 22 months old.

The organization is "for special needs children and to raise awareness to expanded newborn screening," according to Baio's Twitter page.

So Baio's pro-life heart is in the right place. He's just not ready to wear it on his sleeve.

New Stanek WND column, "Might preborns become a trendy cause?"

    WND%20logo.gif

"Causes are the new black," quipped the moderator as he introduced actor Anthony Edwards, first up on a celebrity panel discussing how social media has impacted the lives of pop stars.

This was at the Blog World and New Media Expo in Las Vegas 10 days ago.

Edwards' cause is funding the construction of what will be the largest children's hospital in Kenya, via his organization Shoe4Africa.

My ears perked up at the moderator's observation, because I'd noticed this recurring theme the previous two days during BWE panels and keynotes.

My husband and I had registered to attend BWE along with about 1k other bloggers.

Anthony Edwards, Blog World Expo, Jill Stanek, abortion, World Net Daily.jpg

We knew we'd be entering liberal land, with such sessions offered as, "Blogging for change: How to influence health care through blogging." But we were putting up with a little left ideology to get valuable New Media tips, because the other side is progressive on that front, too.

This wasn't the first time I'd entered their world, having been one of only two conservatives blogging at the Democrat National Convention in Denver last year.

But since I don't read them much, I was unaware liberal bloggers become grumbling, self-centered navel gazers when not talking politics.

At least that's what Day One keynote speaker Chris Brogan seemed to say....

Help needed: U.S. lags on adult spinal cord injury treatments

Dan has emailed information and a request:

    Friends,

As you know, I suffered a spinal cord injury 2 years ago and have no use of my legs. The most promising area of research to improve function in spinal cord patients is in the area of adult stem cells. But, as my friend Dr. David Prentice has said, treatments are not ready for prime time... yet.

There is great research being done. Unfortunately, thanks to the protective nature of the FDA, the best research being done on this is happening overseas. At this point, clinical trials in the US for spinal cord injuries may be years away.

LATimes: Man arrested on suspicion of "murder" of his "unborn child"

Well, this unfolding story is tragic and curious. From the Los Angeles Times, yesterday:

Joshua Woodward, murder, unborn baby, abortion, fetus, Humpty Dumpty.jpg

A 37-year-old man was booked early this morning on suspicion of murder in the death of an unborn child believed to be his, Los Angeles police said.

Joshua Woodward, whom police described as a businessman with "ties to Chicago and Miami," was taken into custody by homicide detectives about 3:15 a.m. today.... He was booked... and is being held in lieu of $2 million bail, police said.

Woodward's arrest followed an investigation of "the suspicious circumstances of a miscarriage" reported Oct. 19, around the 13th week of gestation, police said. They released no other details....

Most interesting is phraseology. S/he is an "unborn child" when the mother wants him/her but "fetus" when she doesn't. And it's "murder" when the mother doesn't want her "unborn child" killed and "abortion" when she wants her "fetus" killed.

Searching for any liberal blog opinion on this story, I came upon the following entertaining (if I can use that word related to this topic) YouTube video in a post by RAMZPAUL....

200 abortionists, Jeanne Tiller get aborted eye-full at National Abortion Federation event

National Abortion Federation, George Tiller, abortion.jpg

On October 17, the National Abortion Federation held a "Remembering Dr. Tiller" event at the Westin Hotel in Denver, with 200 abortionists from around the world attending. I simply can't imagine being in a room full of abortionists. Their hands, yuck. What did they talk about? Although the thought of all this truly creeps me out, this is the sort of event where I'd like to be a fly on the wall.

Jeanne Tiller accepted the award on behalf of her husband George, who was murdered May 31.

American Right to Life got wind of the event beforehand and were able to strategically place cars across the street from the Westin, honoring one of their maxims, "no child killing with tranquility."

Denver, National Abortion Federation, Jeanne Tiller, George Tiller 1b.jpg

ARTL also strategically placed pro-lifers with banners at the hotel's drop-off point. International abortionists were likely unfamiliar with American-style pro-life protests showing the truth of abortion with graphic photos.

National Abortion Federation, Denver, Jeanne Tiller, George Tiller cars dropping off.jpg

National Abortion Federation, Denver, Jeanne Tiller, George Tiller pro-life signs at Westin entrance.jpgAccording to ARTL, one idiotic abortionist had the nerve to accuse pro-lifers - one holding photos of a ripped off baby's head - of intolerance.

ARTL also had pro-lifers planted inside the hotel. When seeing Jeanne Tiller walk through, they handed her 2 pieces of literature. One was a pamphlet that included photos provided by Tiller himself of a post-abortive baby staged with her parents, along with her mother's emotional recantation after she came to her senses.

Denver, National Abortion Federation, Jeanne Tiller, George Tiller, Westin Hotel, pamphlet.jpgThe other was read, "Jeanne Tiller gets an award for this?" showing what her husband did to earn millions of dollars.

A undercover pro-lifer on hand to observe reported Jeanne did an about-face, asked the concierge how to get to the parking garage, and did not return until 8p, when she was to receive the award.

But increasingly, noisy factions on the party's most liberal flank - among them gay rights proponents, pro-choice activists and immigration reformers who Obama courted last year - are incensed that their causes have taken a backseat to the White House's all-out push on health care reform.

Fox News, Barack Obama, boycott.jpgWhat to do? Throw off the scent; chase a Fox. The backdrop, according Politico:

White House senior adviser David Axelrod said Sunday that the Fox News Channel is "not really a news station" and that much of the programming is "not really news."...

Move to permanently revoke Mexico City Policy could sink 2010 spending bill

President Ronald Reagan enacted the Mexico City Policy in 1984, which prohibits taxpayer funding to international abortion groups that promote or commit abortion.

Mexico City Policy abortion.pngSince then it has been on again, off again, depending on the ideology of the president in power. Presidents Bush 41 and 43 upheld it; Presidents Clinton and Obama struck it.

And pro-aborts don't like that. They're whining it's unfair for the international abortion industry not to know if US taxpayers will be aiding and abetting preborn baby killing....

Sad news: Doyle Chadwick has died

doyle chadwick.jpgI'm heartbroken to announce the death of a frequent commenter and friend to this site, Doyle Chadwick. I've just received the following information in an email from a friend at TN RTL. Doyle was from Knoxville:

He died in a rough plane landing today after taking a pro-life dad and two of this children for a ride. The 3 passengers are at home with little to no injuries - miraculous. Please pray for God's mercy because Doyle always described himself as an atheist or agnostic.

The photo is from Doyle's Facebook page.

This is so upsetting and just another reminder that man knows not his time.

I extend our condolences and prayers to Doyle's family.

    Sunday funnies

The axing of Rush Limbaugh as one of the investors purchasing the St. Louis Rams is certainly not funny. It has serious ramifications as another hypocritical but effective liberal attempt to marginalize conservatives for our beliefs. Wrote sports columnist David Moulton at Naples.com:

[I]t's the hypocrisy that burns me. We've got players in this league who allegedly have killed people and others who have been accused of obstructing while others did the killing. We've got members of the media covering this league who have called the President of the United States "a fascist."...

    rush fergie.jpg

The Miami Dolphins new owner, Stephen Ross, may bring on board as a minority owner the singer Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas. Fergie has a solo song called London Bridge. In it the S word is used 2 dozen times, the F word is used a handful and the lyrics are at times sexually explicit. The song ends with Fergie saying ...

    Shi**in on the world. F*** you bit**es.

And Rush Limbaugh can't be a small part of this league?

    by Dana Summers at Townhall.com...

cartoon 10-18 dana summers gocomics 10-17 rush isnt the kind of person we want involved in nfl.gif

Added Jarrett Skorup at the Washington Examiner:

But maybe the NFL is right; maybe they just want to avoid people who make controversial statements.

    Uh...except when they don't.

Apparently, liberal talk show host Keith Olbermann isn't too controversial for them: He does NBC's Football Night in America. A guy not shy to controversy.

Oh, and what about the new partial-owner of the Miami Dolphins? That would be Stacy Ferguson, better known as "Fergie" of the Black Eyed Peas. She was voted in on Tuesday without a single peep of opposition. Controversy? Divisive? Try:

"I have had lesbian experiences in the past. I won't say how many men I've had sex with - but I am a very sexual person."

    or

"A war is goin' on but the reasons undercover. "The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug."

    or even in song

I'ma get get get get you drunk. Get you love drunk off my hump. My hump my hump my hump my hump my hump My hump my hump my hump my lovely little lumps

Nope, not a whiff of controversy in there at all.

cartoon 10-18 glenn foden left media explains why rush shouldnt own.jpg

Wrote Rush himself in an October 16 Wall Street Journal op ed:

Not to be outdone, Jesse Jackson, whose history includes anti-Semitic speech (in 1984 he referred to Jews as "Hymies" and to NYC as "Hymietown" in a Washington Post interview) chimed in. He found me unfit to be associated with the NFL. I was too divisive and worse. I was accused of once supporting slavery and having praised Martin Luther King Jr.'s murderer, James Earl Ray....

    rush ap.jpg

Numerous sportswriters, CNN, MSNBC, among others, falsely attributed to me statements I had never made. Their sources, as best I can tell, were Wikipedia and each other. But the Wikipedia post was based on a fabrication printed in a book that also lacked any citation to an actual source.

I never said I supported slavery and I never praised James Earl Ray. How sick would that be? Just as sick as those who would use such outrageous slanders against me or anyone else who never even thought such things....

[T]his spectacle is bigger than I am on several levels. There is a contempt in the news business, including the sportswriter community, for conservatives that reflects the blind hatred espoused by Messrs. Sharpton and Jackson. "Racism" is too often their sledgehammer. And it is being used to try to keep citizens who don't share the left's agenda from participating in the full array of opportunities this nation otherwise affords each of us. It was on display many years ago in an effort to smear Clarence Thomas with racist stereotypes and keep him off the Supreme Court. More recently, it was employed against patriotic citizens who attended town-hall meetings and tea-party protests.

These intimidation tactics are working and spreading, and they are a cancer on our society.

Yes, here's some of that cancer, from liberal political cartoonists this week.

  • I don't doubt many women die as a result of unsafe abortion, but no one can possibly have any idea of the real figure, especially as so much of it goes on it countries where there are virtually no statistics for anything.

In its 2007 report, Unsafe Abortion, the World Health Organization admitted: "Where induced abortion is restricted and largely inaccessible, or legal but difficult to obtain, little information is available on abortion practice. In such circumstances, it is difficult to quantify and classify abortion. What information is available is inevitably not completely reliable." News to me was their obvious concern for the plight of the people of the planet as well as the animals of the planet and the planet itself. I know I'm generalizing, but it had previously seemed to me their basic solution for worldwide hunger, poverty, and disease was abortion. No. And they translate their concern into raising money on the Internet....

New Stanek WND column, "Obama's polar opposite lost Peace Prize"

    WND%20logo.gif

MI Right to Life's Brian Cusack made the point at a banquet I recently attended that there is a schism between believing what 53% of Americans responded to a December 2005 Zogby poll, that "abortion destroys a human life and is manslaughter," and putting it into practice.

Cusack called it "the great disconnect" that people would willingly stand by and even condone what they consider "manslaughter."

A clear example of the great disconnect came Oct. 9 when the Nobel Peace Prize committee chose Barack Obama as its 2009 recipient.

Obama had only been in office 12 days when nominations closed and had furthermore done "jack and squat" in the nine months following, as a Saturday Night Live skit recently put it.

But the committee awarded Obama because he gave the world "hope for a better future," according its statement.

The disconnect, of course, is Obama is the most pro-abortion president in US history, to the point of advocating postborn baby killing if it would interfere with preborn baby killing.

Actually, from a pro-abortion perspective, Obama has done "jack and pot" since becoming president....

    Drudge spotlights abortion addict story

    drudge abortion addict.jpg

I previously wrote about Irene Vilar, who has written the book, Impossible Motherhood: Testimony of an abortion addict. In it she tells the story of her 16 abortions in 15 years.

Well, this morning Drudge if featuring an October 14 Daily Mail piece on Vilar. (Click graphic to enlarge.)

(I'm not sure who's right - whether Vilar had 15 abortions in 16 or 17 years. What a repulsive point to query.)

The more publicity Vilar receives the better. Why? As DM wrote:

However, pro-choice campaigners said Mrs Vilar's book raises uncomfortable questions about abortion as a form of birth control.

The fact is, over 90% of abortions are for convenience, i.e., "a form of birth control."

  • In addition, I told Wallis as bluntly as I could, that as far as I could tell his position and that of Sojourners was indistinguishable from the old Mario Cuomo position of being "personally opposed" to abortion while wanting to keep the procedure legal. I suggested that neither he nor Sojourners could honestly be labeled pro-life because, for that term to mean anything, it has to involve advocacy for the legal protection of the unborn. Wallis was equally frank in response. He simply rejected my suggestion that the "legal protection of the unborn" had anything to do with being pro-life. Study: Women on birth control pill attracted to quiche eaters

Well this is very interesting and makes total sense.

From what I'm reading the psuedo-feminists are either dismissing the following study (Amie Newman at RH Reality Check: "So, if you're a lap dancer you shouldn't take the pill and women who don't take the pill are attracted to dominating men? Can we put some parameters on what actually gets researched in this country? Please?") or not liking it (Feminist Philosophers: "I just fear that this will be picked up by some groups as another excuse to fulminate against oral contraception, because 'oohz noz! they are messing up the human race!'")

Also don't forget estrogen from the Pill is water has been found by several studies to feminize male fish. So women on the Pill may be getting what they're helping create, wimps.

    From the Daily Mail, today:

It ushered in the 1960s sexual revolution and gave women control over their own fertility.

But the Pill may also have changed women's taste in men, according to a study.

    sean.jpg

Scientists say the hormones in the oral contraceptive suppress a woman's interest in masculine men and make boyish men more attractive. Although the change occurs for just a few days each month, it may have been highly influential since use of the Pill began more than 40 years ago.

If the theory is right, it could partly explain the shifting in tastes from macho 1950s and 1960s stars such as Kirk Douglas and Sean Connery to the more wimpy, androgynous stars of today, such as Johnny Depp and Russell Brand....

  • National Review has an editorial in response to a Nature editorial which argues for changing the definition of death to include individuals who aren't dead but "who will never again be the person(s) (they were)" to increase organ donations:
  • The deeper flaw with the proposal is that it is grossly immoral, an attempt to legitimize the killing of vulnerable people while pretending something else is being done. Further evils would come in its train. The editorial concludes that "concerns about the legal details of declaring death in someone who will never again be the person he or she was should be weighed against the value of giving a full and healthy life to someone who will die without a transplant." Whether someone is actually dead is not a "legal detail." And note the expansiveness of the language. There will always be people whose lives do not seem "full and healthy," in comparison either with who they once were or with others deemed more deserving of life....

Hello? Why does Obama's disregard for human rights surprise anyone?

I don't know why human rights organizations should be surprised. Obama's actions on this front are consistent with his pro-death mentality. From the Washington Times, this morning:

    nancy and dalai.jpg

Human rights groups are beginning to question President Obama's commitment to their issue as the administration engages authoritarian regimes, retains the option of sending terrorist suspects abroad to places where they might be tortured and puts off a presidential meeting with the Dalai Lama.

Mr. Obama's decision to wait until after he visits China in November to meet with the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists - who was on Capitol Hill Tuesday receiving an award - comes after a series of decisions that have underlined a classic tension in U.S. foreign policy between the head and the heart....

    Obamacare: America's best friend?

The Population Research Institute has posted yet another clever cartoon on YouTube, this one 1:10 long.

    The description:

Everybody needs a friend they can trust. So let him into your life and see it change today!

How Breitbart Conquered ACORN (and the MSM)

Very instructive video. Please watch. It has applications to the pro-life fight against the liberal MSM. We need also to analyze why Lila's Planned Parenthood videos did not have in a similar devastating impact... at least yet.

New Stanek WND column, "Toys R Us linked to 'not rape-rape' Whoopi"

    WND%20logo.gif

I didn't know the potato heads at Toys R Us were featuring Whoopi Goldberg on the cover of their 2009 "Differently-Abled Kids" catalog and ad campaign until she defended pedophile rapist/sodomist Roman Polanski on The View last week, after which bloggers quickly took note of the paradox.

    whoopi ad campaign.jpg

I could have told Toys R Us Goldberg was a poor fit, certainly not the "child advocate" it boasted her to be in a press release. She's had multiple abortions - between 4 and 7, depending on the account. Serial-killing one's own children is about as child-unfriendly as one can be.

In early stand-up routines and in the book The Choices We Made: 25 Women and Men Speak Out About Abortion, Goldberg stated her first abortion was self-inflicted in a park at age 14, after being impregnated at 13.

That one happened because, "Whoopi led a bohemian lifestyle... and engaged in promiscuous activities," according to biographer Ellesse Chow.

Which brings us to Polanski. Most now know that in 1977 the famous film director at age 43 primed a 13-year-old with drugs and alcohol before raping and sodomizing her, after which he fled the country to escape prosecution....

There is no explanation for Goldberg's shocking statements in Polanski's defense except to recall Goldberg herself had consensual sex at age 13, which apparently was only the beginning. She bragged on The View in 2008 she had gone on to nail "about 50" lovers in her lifetime....

  • At the Abortioneers blog, one abortion clinic worker posts the entirety of a journal article (with the exception of references) focusing on second-trimester abortions and why some abortionists don't perform them.

It is written by a female abortionist who is extremely direct and the article includes a number of personal stories relating to abortion. She talks about "the personal and psychological aspects" of performing second trimester abortions, the "visual and visceral dimensions of second trimester abortion," the "violence inherent in abortion, especially apparent in the second trimester" and "legitimate ethical and moral issues providers may have with second trimester abortion, as distinct from first trimester abortion."

I would strongly suggest you read the whole thing....

Pro-abort Grayson has the nerve to decry healthcare "Holocaust"?

UPDATE, 3:45p: Moderator Carder found the YouTube clip below of pro-abort Grayson hypocritically calling on Congress to "Choose life" to vote for extended healthcare coverage of children under S-CHIP....

Grayson got one fact way wrong: "[I]n America we have 25k children who die every year without reaching their first birthday."

Actually, the figure is 1,225,000, since 1.2 million are killed by abortion annually. How audacious for Grayson to close with, "I turn to the other side of the aisle. Let's save those lives. Let's choose life." Gag gag gag.
    _______________

OpenCongress.org lists NARAL Pro-Choice America and Planned Parenthood as top contributors ($5k each) to the 2008 campaign of pro-abort Congressman Alan Grayson. Grayson also supports human embryo experimentation.

So never mind Grayson's lack of decorum for his inappropriate statements on the House floor last week, first saying Republicans battling the Dem healthcare plan would prefer people to "die quickly," followed by an "apolog[y] to the dead... that we haven't voted sooner to end this [healthcare] holocaust in America."...

But backing up, this pro-abort had a lot of nerve. As Rush explained on his show October 1...

    Michelle "Child/Sacrifice" Obama

    Weekend question

weekend question.jpgYukon asked on the US Message Board:

Many Conservatives, and even some Liberals, claim that same sex marriage and abortion are "sins" and the "Bible says it is wrong."

I ask any of you to please indicate the passage in the Bible where claims such as these are made? Show me one verse. Use whatever Bible you choose but where does it state this?

We don't have to delve into the homosexual issue unless you'd like, but what is your response to his question re: abortion?

Backlash silences child-rapist Roman Polanski's Hollywood defenders

Daughter Daena and I made it a point to stop by the Polish Embassy this spring during DC's annual open house of embassies. She's 50% Polish after all.

polanski.jpgWhile waiting in line to get scrumptious pierogi, kielbasa, and Żywiec beer, we perused a display of renowned Poles.

And there he was, Roman Polanski, famous film director. "But he's a child rapist!" I exclaimed, embarrassing Daena, unaware of his past, to no end. But when a guy a few feet behind us pronounced the same indictment after spotting Polanski's picture, I felt vindicated.

But the blind spot re: Polanski's sordid past was evident.

Youngsters in the crowd can read the New York Times PG13-to-R-rated backstory on page 2, including grand jury testimony from the 13yo Polanski raped and sodomized.

That was in 1977. When Polanski realized he might end up in prison, he fled the country and has for 32 years not restepped foot back on US soil. However, last week when the now 76yo ventured to Switzerland to receive a film festival award, he was nabbed....
