Who's bluffing, Planned Parenthood CEO or Bart Stupak?

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards appeared on Hardball with Chris Matthews last night, quite confident Nancy Pelosi will fix pro-aborts' problems with healthcare when the bill bounces back from the Senate.

But Bart Stupak isn't going away. From the Wall Street Journal this morning...

"We won because [the Democrats] need us," says Mr. Stupak. "If they are going to summarily dismiss us by taking the pen to that language, there will be hell to pay. I don't say it as a threat, but if they double-cross us, there will be 40 people who won't vote with them the next time they need us - and that could be the final version of this bill."

Tough talk, which Stupak has previously backed up, I think an apt response to harsh charges waged by Allahpundit yesterday at HotAir...

[B]ut does anyone seriously believe the pro-lifers will hold their ground and torpedo it if the abortion language is stripped out? For all the press he got in anti-abortion circles, Stupak himself was prepared to vote for this crap sandwich without the ban on funding abortion; all he wanted was a floor vote, which means all it cost Pelosi to pass the bill was some ephemeral unpleasantness in the caucus room.

The language will be duly dumped in conference committee and Stupak et al. will crumble under the weight of media heavy-breathing about how Democrats are now closer than they've ever been to passing the glorious utopian Great Society boondoggle of their dreams. They'll fold like a 2-dollar chair.

In answer to my own question, I'm quite sure Stupak isn't bluffing, so long as he can hold his coalition together. And he has so far and appears confident it will hold.

I'm not so sure about Cecile. She may honestly think Pelosi and Obama will pull this one out. She certainly knows things we don't. But she's gotta be nervous. There are many factors outside her control, as evidenced by passage of Stupak/Pitts.

So I tend to think Cecile's putting on a good game face.

I pray Stupak holds his ground with the other pro-life Dems. Even my pro-abort Rep. voted for the amendment, for which I am eternally grateful.

The new focus of my Rosaries are no public option in the Senate and, if that gets through, the Stupak coalition staying strong in the House.

The deciding factor will be who knows where the MOST bodies are buried.

'Blue dog democrats', who got that name from being so starved for sufficent air by previous democRAT leaders that they were blue in the face, are going to become lame duck and dead dog democrats when and if they hold the line against B.O. and his Dead Babies R Us cronies in congress.

The blood sacrifice to the prince/princess of darkness of more than 50 million innocent children will purchase some ugly black magic.

Rio may get the Olympic games, but the Dead Babies R Us crowd are spending their dark spiritual capital to ensure they continue to get their pounds of human flesh.

Things could get really really ugly in the days and months ahead for those who resist wickedness in high places.

Draw near to the 'ONE' who gives you breath and abundant everlasting light and the bent one, the father of lies, will rapidly slink away from the light and the love of JESUS' glorious presence in and on you. Son's of God need not fear the bastards of darkness.

They're counting on President Obama who has already expressed approval with the bill as is? They'll be sorely mistaken to believe that he'll torpedo the reform simply because of abortion, really. I think that NARAL and Planned Parenthood simply must accept that the law that always was (and the law that has worked out effectively thus far- there are no women roaming the streets, hunting for hangers) will remain. They're crazy if they think that President Obama is going to torpedo reform to please them and they're daft if they think that he cares about abortion so passionately, whether pro-choice or pro-life, to rearrange the entire country for them.

So, hopefully, they won't turn into self-pitying pricks (again), and try and make this all about them.

Umm...Vannah...the president said he no longer supports healthcare reform in its current incarnation (with abortion restrictions). Honey...you really need to open your eyes to the way things are. Idealism is not how the world actually works.

Did he already change his statement? Last night they had a quote with him saying that he was very satisfied with it. What on earth is going on with this health bill?

So much for the state run media claiming the Republicans are divided and don't want "moderates."

It seems the pro abort extremists won't allow Democrats be pro life, or at least support the Stupak amendment.

Pro abort Senator Claire McCaskill was prepared to live with the ammendment, until pro aborts started attacking so she changed her mind all in one day.

Cecile does have a good game face. She and BO make quite a pair.

For an Angel of Death and Murder, she actually seems quite pleasant.

She smiles so sweetly and lies through her teeth about providing (abortion) access to families.

What? WHAT? Loving families don't murder their members! How evil!

She puts on this act while in the shadows she schemes to murder innocent children by the thousands and thousands and thousands (and that's just 3 days worth).
