New WND column, "Under Obama, STD super strains all the rage"

Recalling the Rev. Jeremiah Wright once famously accused the "government ... [of] inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color," it is ironic that his protégé, Barack Obama, along with other carriers of the deadly diseases of political correctness and liberal ideology, would actually be the ones guilty of spreading not only HIV but other plagues.

Three significant events of the past 2 weeks may at first appear unrelated but aren't:

  • Dec. 27, 2009: While researching the worldwide epidemic of drug-resistant diseases, the Associated Press uncovers and reports what has been "dreaded and expected for years - this country's 1st case of a contagious, aggressive, especially drug-resistant form of tuberculosis."

oswaldo juarez, tuberculosis, abortion, sexually transmitted disease, sexaully transmitted infection, STD, STI, HIV, AIDS.JPEGPreviously unknown to the public, the AP discloses that now 21-year-old Peruvian exchange student Oswaldo Juarez, pictured right, began treatment in 2007 at the last remaining TB sanitarium in the United States, located in South FL, for 1 of only 5 cases of XXDR TB known worldwide. Symptoms abated, and Juarez was released back into the U.S. in July 2009.
  • Jan. 1, 2010: The state of IL becomes the 21st state, along with the city of Baltimore, to enact "expedited partner therapy" legislation. Such laws allow patients being treated for either chlamydia or gonorrhea, both sexually transmitted diseases, to receive as many blank prescriptions or one-time doses of antibiotics as the number of sexual partners they say they have had within the previous 60 days. Minors as young as 12 years old can obtain scripts or meds without parental knowledge.
  • Jan. 4, 2010: The Centers for Disease Control enacts an order by President Obama, lifting the 22-year ban against HIV positive foreigners entering the U.S. Pre-admissive HIV testing will no longer be required either, so infected immigrants will be untrackable.
  • To begin connecting the dots, Homeland Security Today on Dec. 29 reported on the scale of diseases resistant to drug treatment...

Thanks for the article on drug resistant diseases

I only wish someone would take note, but the leadership of this country and the world has gone insane.

I'm 64, and as natural born citizen of the US, used to have good medical care and food supply that let me stay healthy.

In the last 10 years I have both visited Cambodia and worked as a pastor in an immigrant rich county near San Francisco.

I don't regret either. However I now have what is called latent TB, meaning it's there but not active. I'm allergic to the antibiotics they use to kill TB. I've been told that if anything compromises my immune system, the TB will activate. If I get cancer, I may not be able to take any treatment. Same with major surgery since the drugs they use suppress the immune system.

My wife is being treated for a difficult-to-kill intestinal bacteria the doctor said had been almost wiped out, but is reappearing due to uncontrolled immigration.

The combination of untreatable epidemics you are implying and current health care plans in the US which are going to bankrupt Medicare and other forms of government aid seem to point to a horrible end for the baby-boomers, don't you think?

I'm so sorry for your plight, and your wife's as well. Thanks for taking the trouble to so articulately outline it. People in our church go on a lot of missions trips. I hadn't worried about that before now. So many churches send their members on those trips... another gateway to the spread of serious diseases in the U.S., well-intentioned as they are.

God bless you for your sacrifice.

Posted by: Jim at January 6, 2010 6:21 AM

I am sorry for your situation Jim and I agree we as baby boomers won't have the luxuries our parents had in their old age.
Let's hope that some new way of treating you will be found.

However, I have to say that I personally am thoroughly disgusted with my generation, the baby boomers, which has allowed the legalization of abortion, homosexuality, promiscuity (under the name of "free love"), and divorce under our watch.

Under my generation, we've replaced marriage with cohabitation - we were the first to openly defy convention and live together, often in multiple, serial relationships.
We openly did drugs and revelled in it. Millions of baby boomers continue to be pot-smoking heads who obsessed with the legalization of drugs.
We continually pushed the envelope on what was considered pornographic and have led to the pornification of our culture and our children.
We aborted our children by the millions.
We abandoned our children to daycare in the name of liberation and self-fulfillment.
We contracepted our children out of our lives and by example have given the example to future generations, that children are bothersome, burdensome pests that have no place in the "new" family, which literally can be anyone.

We also encouraged our children by both example and direct enablement to live out all of these wonderful "liberating" actions.

Worried about a horrible end for our generation?
I think we earned it, just a teeny bit.

Jill, This one of your best columns I’ve read. It just shows that we can never avoid the consequences, do I dare say, sin.

Jill, I thank God for you! Literally. Every day. You are on my prayer list.

Hmmm . . . reminds me of that song by They Might Be Giants:

It's the end of the world as we know it
    But I feel fine . . .

Yes we do reap what we sow. It started with removing God and prayer from schools and has continued unabated with legalized abortion, the militant feminist movement that undermines God's plan for the family, the saturation of pornography into our society, divorce and the destruction of marriage, the spread of legalized gambling, the drug epidemic, the massive use of debt to fund prosperity, the normalization of homosexuality and, the acceptance of gender identity perversion and pedophilia and the feminization of the church. Good job my fellow baby boomers. What a hellish legacy we are leaving our children and their children.

And innocent people who try to do good are affected as well, as Pastor Jim and his wife are evidence of.

With Obama, the degradation has exponentially accelerated downward which to me indicates that God's judgment of this country is near, very near. In just one year this demon controlled president has done everything he can to spit in God's face! Increased funding for abortion, an attack on Christianity, hiring perverts in positions of government leadership, massive spending, and the theft of freedom in the name of health care reform. I can't even imagine what will happen over the remainder of the next three years.

Don't ever tell me that politics and religion don't mix. Satan knows this and uses politics as an accelerator of evil rather than the restrainer against evil that God intended it to be.

Lord, please heal Pastor Jim and His wife.

Lord, our country is in deep, deep trouble and you are the solution.

Lord, please do whatever is necessary to wake us up.

Thanks Jill for this update. Our nation and world is in deep trouble. And the consequences of our cursing God and his standards of righteousness are just starting to be felt. The scriptures say "everything that can be shaken will be shaken", "righteousness exalts a nation and sin is a reproach to any people" and "you will reap what you sow". God help us as BHO and the Demoncrats work right now to ram through the healthcare debacle so BHO can tout this bill during his "State of The Union" speech. This is not about healthcare for the poor, uninsured or underinsured it is about POWER, CONTROL, TRANSFORMING AMERICA INTO SOCIALISM, TAKING OVER 1/6TH OF THE US ECONOMY, SOCIALIZED MEDICINE, THE POWER OF LIFE AND DEATH OVER US CITIZENS AND ABORTION-ON-DEMAND.

Excellent column Jill. I can see how your blog has really grown in the past year and your you put much work and research in your columns. I am glad your following is increasing. You have some important things to say and needs to be read by many.
I expect to see you as a commentator on TV soon. This was a thought provoking column for sure as are some of the comments. As a member of the baby boomer generation, I have to admit we brought this on and how we regret it now. We are truly reaping what we sowed.
Also, I go to Africa every year on a mission trip and have to admit this gave me pause. I had a friend who went to Africa and several years later developed a disease that nearly killed her from something they think she contracted there but lay dormat for a number of years.

There's also a nasty new strain of Hepatitis C in New York City.

The sexual revolution and "safe" abortion were made possible by antibiotics in addition to other technologies. What kind of revolution will happen if those drugs fail?

(Aside: The headline distracted by implying Obama was to blame.)
