It is so nice not to be the only one that misses him. I do not agree with everything he did, but he is a great president that deserved more credit than he will ever get. When he was president we could at least know that he was a true christian man with morals. I agree with a previous poster. he could laugh at his mistakes, and he realized that making the media happy was not his job. Making tough decisions was his job. Making tough decisions that BENEFIT the country is what a true leader does.
Most of you have such great posts. I thought I was pretty knowledgable when it came to what is and has gone on, but I learn a lot form reading the posts. Thanks

I was surprised that a co-worker of mine who was a medical corpsman not CORPSEMAN in the Vietnam War, was very insulted by Obama's ignornance.

Bush is in no way an evil or malicious man, but his presidency was catastrophic for America and the world. He wasted a staggering amount of government money on the futile Iraq war and has left this nation in horrendous financial shape.
He paid lip servie to the "sanctity of life" while failing to help many poor pregnant women, thus doing absolutely nothing to prevent abortions.
People criticize Obama for using a teleprompter despite the fact that he is highly articluate and glibly excuse the fact that Bush could barely string two words together in a coherent manner.
His administration's sabre-rattling did not foster peace in any way with Islamic fanatics and terrorists.

It is interesting that not a word was said during the campaign about BHO's lack of military service. But when "W" was running the MSM had all sorts of complaints about his service. The attempts to impugn Bush reached its nadir when Dan Rather attempted to hijack W's run for a second term by putting forth forged documents about his service in the Texas Air National Guard.

The double standard was also in play when Billy Clinton was running. Both times he faced war heroes (the same as BHO) and of course the MSM was silent on Clinton's lack of service. Clinton was off to Russia at one point during his college years so military duty in the service of the United States of America was not foremost on his mind.

Elizabeth: There is one thing I am certain Bush did not match Obama on and that is Bush only visited 50 states instead of 57.

The duplicity is stunning, even by MSM standards.

Remember when VP candidate Dan Quayle was reviled as a coward and draft dodger for serving in the National Guard during the Vietnam War?

Odd, when Clinton ran, his lack of military service and questionable avoidance of the draft, as well as his contempt for the military, was not an issue.

Also, remember when the media persecuted Dan Quayle because some woman claims she danced close to him? A claim he vehemently denied.

Bill Clinton was accused of everything from exposing himself to rape but the media called his flashing Paula Jones "propositioning" and had no issue with his accusers being reviled as psychotics, bimbos, and liars.

The MSM reeks of double standards.

Every time I see Obama getting out of the helicopter I feel ill, he has no respect for the precious Marine standing there and no respect for the office he is holding. Did you ever see the way he salutes back, WHY BOTHER OBAMA. I use to love seeing President Bush getting off the helicopter, you could see he had respect for that marine. He looked like a President! I sure do miss seeing him as our President, as for the Bill Board, our whole family misses him and his wife!!!

Mr. Berger, I recommend a basic civics class. The Congress does the budget. The "hole" that Obama "inhreited" was one he signed off on and helped create.

The last year of Republican control in the Congress was 2007, the smallest deficit in 5 years and the fourth straight year of decrease in the deficit. That is what the Democrat controlled Congress "inherited" and what it is now... grossly out of control... is only the fault of the Democrats.

Robert, unless you're living under a rock somewhere for the past 12 months, you would already KNOW why there "so many people today" that are angry...(I don't think it's hate) at your messiah.

Is it because of all the failed promises during the campaign?

Is it because of the current (and worsening) economic conditions for everybody?

Or is it simply because Obama is so focused on himself and his agenda that he doesn't care what 'so many people today' are saying?

Pati, I went to the Get Motivated Success Seminar when it came to my city two weeks ago and had a fabulous time... Laura Bush spoke... she was SO classy. She gave a glimpse into the heart and mind of the former President during the days leading up to and immediately after 9/11. It was sobering, inspiring and revealing.

Was Bush perfect? Of course not. Did he always make the right decision? Of course not. Did he always strive to make our nation safe? Absolutely...

Now we have an administration that seems to take it for granted with announcement that we will be hit again within the next six months and no action on their part to do anything about it! (Unless you count staying on vacation during the immediate aftermath of a failed attack, affording miranda rights and other rights of U.S. citizenship to those determined to murder as many U.S. citizens as possible, and bowing to foreign dictators.)

Yes, I miss President George W. Bush, and I'm a Canadian. I have great respect for him despite his big-government ways (and President Obama is only worse in this respect too). President Bush was a resolute leader who refused to waffle in war. He was authentically pro-life, helping to criminalize the murder of fellow citizens. He is a true American who obviously loves his country and, I would argue, loves people all over the world.
