The second entry shows us how destructive abortion is and to think of the other beautiful children not born in Russia. We must not give up the battle...look at their faces

What a beautiful, if heartbreaking story.

A friend of mine and I were discussing taking in foster children when we retire (which is at least ten years from now for me) and I am really seriously considering doing it someday.

Sorry but both (first and second) stories depressed me...not just the second...

What happened in Russia could happen here if we allowed the terrible healthcare bill to go through where we basically funded abortions. This could be us. Will we ever learn? We must be vigiliant against this idea.

A hypocrite teaches one thing while believing another. So a hypocrite teaches "X" but believes "not X." As a pro-lifer, I believe that human beings are intrinsically valuable and have moral worth simply in light of being human. I do not believe animals have intrinsic value and moral worth simply in light of being animals (non-human animals, of course). So immediately, there is no hypocrisy being shown.

Now perhaps you believe that the two views I outlined above are CONTRADICTORY. I do not believe they are, but I am open to hearing any argument put forth. But either way, hypocrisy is not the correct term to be using (now I sound like a pro-choicer, arguing semantics) .

In any case, suppose that you are indeed correct, and that every single pro-lifer is a giant hypocrite. How does it then follow that abortion does not unjustly take the life of an innocent human being?

Mark, I should also add that I do not agree with torturing animals. My father-in-law is a farmer, and hunts and buys his own animals which have been humanly raised and killed, using the whole animal. This is something that I most definitely support, rather than the mass production-ways of shooting up animals with hormones so they grow quickly and then killing them. In fact, depending on where my wife and I end up moving to this year, we may be in a position to raise our own chickens, in which case we would eat those chickens rather than anything that was shot full of growth hormones and shoved in a crowded, filthy chicken coop.
