St. Paul Planned Parenthood's annual "Good Friday solidarity event"

UPDATE, 3/13, 10:55a: Facebook friend Brian G. has provided the Facebook link to the pro-life event at this PP mill.

UPDATE, 3/12, 11:21a: Wonderful moderator Carla has forwarded the link information on the pro-life prayer vigil at this PP, here. It runs from 8:30a to 4p. "Please come for as long or as little time as your schedule allows," the flyer reads. It also states 2k pro-lifers attended last year, not 1k as PP claims. Cool.

Turns out Carla attended last year. Here's a photo of Carla's group telling an inconvenient truth about abortion. Carla is 2nd from right...

And here's her video...

Jesus crucifixion.jpg3/12, 10:50a: Jesus Christ was murdered in ~33 AD on the first day of the Jewish Passover, now known to Christians as Good Friday, as the ultimate and final sacrifice for the sins of the world.

Jesus was a totally innocent man killed out of fear, anger, and the lust for power and money. He was the ultimate Inconvenient Truth.

pharaoh 3.pngNone of us have all the pieces, but I have always thought it not coincidental that there was a mass killing of babies when Moses, the 1st redeemer, was born, and a mass killing of babies when Jesus, the 2nd Redeemer, was born.

I think in anticipation of Jesus' 2nd coming, satan has unleashed the greatest mass extermination of children in human history - via abortion and contraception (and recently added: human embryo experimentation). These children are often murdered for the same reasons Jesus was murdered.

So it is fitting that the St. Paul, MN, Planned Parenthood's annual "visibility event" at its Highland Park abortion mill would be planned for Good Friday. If they understand the blasphemy, they likely revel in it. Since Twin Cities Atheists are also promoting PP's event, I think they get it.

Planned Parenthood Highland Park, Minnesota, Good Friday, abortion.png

In response to the very strong Christian pro-life presence at the Highland Park abortion mill, "Tim," Dir. of Gov't Affairs for PP of MN, ND, and SD states on an accompanying video that PP has morphed this into a counter "Good Friday solidarity event," complete with a community food drive.

As a PP volunteer states on the video, "So we get a lot of people out here on this one day, basically just showing that they're here for us and have us in their thoughts all year round."

All the more reason for St. Paul pro-lifers to come out and dwarf the presence of these blasphemous minions. MN pro-lifers, give me contact info on the pro-life event, and I'll post it.

Holy Cow Jill!! What a brilliant insight into the timings of the mass killings around the arrivals of the salvific events.

BTW, the food drive can't whitewash the murder. Even Al Capone ran soup kitchens during the Great Depression. No one has yet advanced his cause for canonization.

They say that when you kill an unborn child, you kill the unborn Christ child.

Celebrating the killing of unborn children on Good Friday is an absolutely obscene thing for an obscene and criminal organization such as Planned Parenthood to do.

Posted by: Joe at March 12, 2010 11:15 AM

Let us not forget it used to be called God Friday

Posted by: Susie Allen at March 12, 2010 11:23 AM

Gerard, thanks... ;)

Joe, I appreciate the sentiment, but it's waaay theologically incorrect to say killing an unborn children is killing the unborn Christ child.

Posted by: Jill Stanek Author Profile Page at March 12, 2010 11:27 AM

Perhaps the reasoning behind Joe's assertion is Jesus' teaching over the Last Judgement in Matthew 25 when He says, "Whatever you did to the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

Posted by: Gerard Nadal at March 12, 2010 11:57 AM

Nope. I did not witness any harassing or intimidating of patients. Try again.

Posted by: carla Author Profile Page at March 12, 2010 12:33 PM

I was not trying to be theologically correct. I was simply making the point that human beings are made in the image of God and when you kill an unborn child you are in essence attacking God's creation.

In other words, you are killing a child in his image and therefore in a sense making an attack on God, although of course not literally. The idea is that if you do it to the "least of my brothers, you do it to me", as Jesus said.

Posted by: Joe at March 12, 2010 12:37 PM

Joe, I like that explanation better, thanks.

Praying for the conversion of the hearts of pro-choicers at the Good Friday Rally.

"Jesus Christ was murdered in ~33 AD on the first day of the Jewish Passover, now known to Christians as Good Friday, as the ultimate and final sacrifice for the sins of the world."

My understanding is that the Passover celebration for Christians beings with the Last Supper on Holy Thursday. This is from a Lutheran website, but it corresponds to how it is celebrated in the Catholic Church as well.

In the earliest days of the Christian Church, the events we commemorate in the Triduum were celebrated in one day and night's continuous worship service called the Pascha (from the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew word for "Passover"). It begins with Maundy (or Holy) Thursday and goes through Holy Saturday.

Correction. This should have been in italics.

Hey Jill,

Brother Michael and I started the Good Friday vigil outside the Planned Parenthood Abortion Mill in St. Paul in 1982. What started off as a group of 20 has grown to over 2,000 in recent years, as well as several hundred pro-aborts. It has become a part of our brotherhood tradition. I haven't missed one yet! It is a great witness for life!

Posted by: Br. Paul at March 12, 2010 2:14 PM

I was there last year as my FIRST pro-life rally/event! My pro-life coming-out so to speak. And you bet I will be there this year with friends!

Re: the movie
"...anti-choice people CHOOSE to come to the Highland clinic..." LOL I think their euphemism fell through there.

Leslie bemoans the "gruesome signs" apparently without making the connection that the pictures came from what happens within PP.

I think they need to define what they mean by "harassment" because I didn't see any harassment in that video or when I was present there last year.

Posted by: Scott at March 12, 2010 2:18 PM

See you there!!! :)

I have a great sign I'm going to bring. It really strikes home for the less religiously-inclined, social-justicey liberal PCers. It shows abortion as a Human Rights Violation which will hopefully make them think. I can't wait!

Hi Jill,
I will keep you posted on the Good Friday Prayer Vigil. Thanks for all that you do for the cause of life and thanks for your friendship. Hope to see you soon. God Bless!

It's interesting how they didn't mention how many abortions they do annually or how much they profit from the mass killing of these innocent children. Also, a "peaceful" event? I think not... more like loud and irreverent as to what is truly happening and what they are supporting... not to mention on Good Friday? There is no shame for them is there? No respect for life... everything is about them and their "choices". (That destroy unborn children). It's like being on your deathbed and not asking God for mercy and forgiveness for any wrong doing in your last moments alive... it is like blaspheming until the end. Do they not see what they are supporting? How blind are they?

Women from Silent No More Minnesota (women in the picture) have been at this event for 8 years. This prayer vigil has been going on for years. It was not until we came out holding the "I regret My abortion" sign that PP started a "counter protest". We had been there with our signs for 2 or 3 years before PP started actually busing in and feeding college students from near by college to be there for their side.

Since being there with our signs there are hardly any graphic picture...maybe 2 I would see all day...I would get between 11-12 and stay until the end so that those who wanted to carry a sign "I regret my abortion" sign would do so with someone else. We would have anywhere between 8-12 women and many times different women every year. Many times women from the crowd would come up and ask to carry a sign. I would have "Men regret lost fatherhood" signs and some men would join us.

So I find it most interesting that PLAM for years did this prayer vigil without any word from PP but when the "I regret my abortion" signs started to show up they created their own protest.

I can't remember if Carla has been there for 1 or 2 years but it is always wonderful to see her.

In the 2nd video they had 500 supporters of Planned Parenthood.
Things that Planned Parenthood do besides killing the unborn:
Coverup for sexual predators
Want to get sexual rights for little kids, not surprising they get their sex info from a sex pervert by the name of ALfred Kinsey who thinks sex with tots is good.

So, they regret their abortions. I bet many women who are constantly called "baby killers" by the Bible thumping small minded robots feel the same way.

Posted by: Alice at March 12, 2010 4:16 PM

Sorry about the double post!

Posted by: Cecilia at March 12, 2010 4:25 PM

If Jesus Christ was "murdered", then God was a co-conspirator.

As a women who regrets her abortion I can honestly say Pro-life people are the least of my concerns when it comes to telling me who or what I's the "ProChoicers" who mock me for speaking out against abortion I am more afraid of. The evil in their eyes at this event is pretty amazing to say the least.

I have NEVER heard from a pro-life person the "Baby Killer" comment to my face and I have been public about my abortion for 15 years...8 as the founder and President of Silent NO MOre MN.

Carla I am coming out of hiding...will write to you soon.

Posted by: annmarie at March 12, 2010 4:41 PM

I hope to be with you again this Good Friday!! :)
I look forward to hearing from you!!

What you're doing out there is great. Please also consider adding a crib for donations of pregnancy and baby items as well as a bottle for monetary donations (to help clients with rent, utilities, transportation, medical bills, etc), and an information booth with community resources to empower women considering abortion with the resources to be able to carry to term and sucessfully parent and as a demonstration and a a positive message of what it means to be pro-life .

All your suggestions are great ones...however this prayer vigil is just that...a prayer vigil. May I suggest you call ProLife Action Ministry at 651-771-1500 and talk to them about it. They do provide some of the help you are talking about however, just a half a block away is a crisis pregnancy center.

Minnesota especially the Twin Cities area is very strong in helping women before they choose to abort and after. We have a VERY strong post-abortion healing community.

This event is amazing when you think about how many people come through out the day. Some stay for 2 hours or all day, some stay for 15 minutes. It is truly a witness to God mercy.

Posted by: annmarie at March 13, 2010 8:05 AM

Also, I am not so sure I saw any women coming for abortions that day. All of the escorts stood around smiling and laughing at us. Correct me if I'm wrong Ann Marie. :)

Posted by: carla Author Profile Page at March 13, 2010 9:57 AM

Oooh, I hope I can make it to this one...I've never been to a pro-life event before and I'd love to be there. Plus I'd love to meet some of you! :D

It makes me smile that it's Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota...because they can't keep a PP going in SD and ND.

Posted by: Marauder at March 13, 2010 11:21 AM

True that, Marauder. Looks like 5 of us on this thread will be there!! :)

Posted by: carla Author Profile Page at March 13, 2010 11:28 AM

Six. And I was there last year, too, practically all day. There were 3 appts, unfortunately, Carla--I was sidewalk counseling and we got literature to all 3 despite being surrounded by the (mostly bussed-in from the colleges) pro-aborts. Seeing family after family come up the sidewalk to join the over 2K was like a little foretaste of the Saints marching in for me.

Posted by: klynn73 at March 14, 2010 9:12 PM

Hey Klynn...Love YOU!
Ann Marie

Posted by: annmarie at March 15, 2010 8:34 AM

Thank you, Klynn.

What I remember the most is the constant shrieking from the PP lovers whenever a car honked! It was like an afternoon party for them.

On the other side of the barricade? Peaceful, prayerful warriors!! My favorite part? When a pastor or priest read the word of God and the other side heard it too!! :)
