Justice served in the Roderick King vandalism case?

On May 1 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Student Government Association Senator Roderick King was caught on tape vandalizing a pro-life display of crosses commemorating children killed by abortion.

UWSP administration had given Pointers for Life authorization to display the exhibit. This didn't deter King from destroying it, nor did knock-kneed campus police.

6 days later the UWSP administration issued a statement that "[u]niversity procedures are being followed" for discipline but it couldn't say what. And what about King's leadership position on UWSP's SGA? How could the SGA possibly retain him when he defied not only university policy but the rule of law against destroying property? When I wrote my 1st post on this disgrace on May 7, the UWSP SGA had not disciplined or removed King - almost a week after the spectacle.

Today reader Marc sent me the following email exchange he had with SGA Senator Claire Smith that gives a good idea of the "discipline" SGA meted King - likely an "adda boy."

Smith has a high threshhold for violence, considering King's actions of pulling and throwing crosses from the ground nonviolent.

Smith also considered King "in the right" and PFL at fault for King's temper tantrum due to an unnamed "technicality."

So I expect SGA members to be meeting up at some local bar tonight to celebrate King's boorish behavior. What punks... some of whom wouldn't even be here today if not for pro-lifers. And what a school. Click to enlarge:

Funeral for Hodari's babies

Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit, John Quinn, offered the funeral Mass. Con-celebrants included the chancellor for the Archdiocese of Detroit, Msgr. Robert McClory as well as Father Ronald Browne, pastor of St. Gerald's.

Pro-lifers, including mmebers of Citizens for a Pro-life Society, retrieved the babies on February 24 and March 2 - amid biohazardous watse and numerous patient records.
Those who live according to the ethics of the culture of death threw these human beings in the trash - after killing them in violent acts of abortion. The human being made in the image and likeness of God had no more value or meaning than the coffee grounds and half eaten McDonald's hamburgers - thrown out in the garbage dumpster.

When pro-lifers took them out of the trash they were given back to God the Father who made them - reversing in some small way, the horrific injustice done to them.
The babies truly can say: "The reason why the world does not know us--is that it never knew HIM. We are God's children now" (1 John 3: 1-2).

Hindu group cites funeral practices as leading driver of female feticide

A press release yesterday from the Indian Hindu reform group Navya Shastra called on Hindus to "allow daughters to impart final rites at the funerals of their parents."

A NS rep explained, "One religious reason why boys are favored among Hindus is because of the anachronistic belief that only a son can formally conduct this ceremony, so a girl is totally worthless in this regard."

I found this information fascinating. According to Webhealing.com...

They believe that once it sheds the body, the soul prepares to depart immediately on its karmic journey, and as such, it's very important to cremate the body as soon as practicable so as not to provide any allurement for the soul to linger on to this side of the world. Therefore, Hindu customs require the body to be taken to the holy grounds and cremated as soon as all the family members have had a chance to view it.

The New York Times added:

[T]he son of the deceased should perform the ceremony, If he [is not able] at the time of the death, the father or brother of the deceased or some other male member of the family [must] his place. When there is no son in the family, one Is adopted for the purpose.... The body is placed upon the [funeral] pile.... Then the chief mourner walks around the pile three times and fires it....

So according to Hindus, one's post-death future is dependent on a hasty cremation, and only family males can see to that. Thus, preborn girls are killed so her parents can live after dying.

NS called on "Indian feminist leaders" to address the growing female-to-male gender imbalance.

Apparently it is not only American feminists but feminists worldwide who are silent on this most extreme demonstration of sexism - killing.

Two reasons why. First, to speak up would be to admit preborns are human. Can't do that.

The NYT reported April 28 the Indian gender imbalance is only worsening:

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh highlighted an "alarming" decline in the number of girls for every 1,000 boys in India, slipping to 927 in 2001 from 962 in 1981, according to the latest census figures....
The Lancet, the British medical journal, estimated in 2006 that as many as 10 million female fetuses had been aborted in India over the previous 20 years by families trying to secure male heirs. Unicef... noted that the imbalance in the sex ratio had become particularly acute in India's wealthier regions, where couples were easily able to afford ultrasound tests.

Well, that's interesting. So are Planned Parenthood et al trying to stop female feticide, or are they focused on getting more money from abortion by forcing UN and government programs to more widely avail abortion to poor women?

If you picked B, you're right. See here and here. The abortion industry is aiding in worsening sex-selection abortions in India because it wants to make more money.

And that is the primary reason feminists and the abortion industry are silent.

An NS rep I spoke with told me the group has only taken a position against female abortion, which is also interesting.

Canadian MP Ken Epps (sponsor of the Canadian Unborn Victims of Crime Act) absolutely destroys claims made by Joyce Arthur and Lynn Paltrow that Epps' legislation could be used to police and punish pregnant women. He concludes by saying:

The onus is on those who claim that C-484 can be used to "police" and "punish" pregnant women to prove how. Given they are unable to do this, then intellectual honesty and integrity demand that they put an immediate end to their campaign of fear.

The Washington Post is featuring an article about a "residential program for homeless adolescent mothers and their children" in Arlington developed by parishioners at a Catholic church:

The Elizabeth House program is simple: It's for homeless adolescent girls from 16 to 20 who have decided to keep their babies -- and who want to set personal goals, particularly educational ambitions. The group usually takes in young women during their second trimesters, after they have decided to become parents. They can stay in the program two to three years.

But remember according to some pro-choicers, pro-lifers' concern for life only extends to birth.

Here's another sad infanticide story. This time the mother, Morgan Hite, gave birth in a bathtub, wrapped her son up in a towel, put him in a tote and left him in a closet. The child was discovered months later by Hite's father and step-mother. The story says:

Hite told police she had tried to get an abortion in Anchorage but a women's health clinic would not perform the procedure because she was 15 1/2 weeks pregnant, the affidavit says. Alaska law limits abortions to the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

Huh? Not according to Alaska's abortion statistics. Alaska even gets an "A-" from NARAL. I'm guessing the "women's health clinic" is Planned Parenthood which offers surgical abortion through the end of the 13th week.

Expelled vs. Yoko and flat earth descendants

First, according to Box Office Mojo, Expelled is already ranked the #12th top grossing documentary after only 3 weeks out:

Expelled should break the top 10, although Moore fans can rest easy it will never beat ~~any of his~~ his top 3 atrocities. (Did not know Roger and Me was a Moore film until corrected by a reader Bystander.)

The highlighting was Mojos, indicating films currently out. So Expelled is beating the Rolling Stones, and I see another rock icon, John Lennon, at #21.

Speaking of, Yoko is suing Expelled's makers for using 15 seconds of John's song Imagine without permission....

]]> But on May 1, Stanford Law School's Fair Use Project announced it would defend Expelled, seeing Yoko's suit as an infringement of the fair use doctrine. From Stanford's press release:

"The right to quote from copyrighted works in order to criticize them and discuss the views they may represent lies at the heart of the fair use doctrine," said Anthony Falzone, executive director of the Fair Use Project.

In other news the Boston Globe today included an op ed hit piece against Expelled with a stealthy jab at Christians:

American science is in trouble, and if you wonder why, just go to the movies. Popular culture is gradually turning against science, and Ben Stein's new movie, Expelled, is helping to push it along.

This was to say science and religion can't coexist. That's sometimes true... when science is wrong. For instance, when scientists said the world was flat:

Sometimes it takes science awhile to catch up.

Promoters are encouraging store buyers to get Bella at Walmart because it's the largest dvd retailer in the world.

Brownback's staff secretly pipes meeting

The plot thickens.

I wrote in this week's WND column that a group of KS pro-life leaders paid KS U.S. Senator Sam Brownback a surprise visit in his Washington, D.C., office May 3 to ask him to rescind his endorsement of Steve Howe for Johnson County District Attorney.

Pro-lifers have asked incumbent Phill Kline to reconsider running to retain the seat, because Kline is in the throes of a 5-year-long investigation against Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri, which operates an abortion mill in JoCo, for illegal late-term and minor abortions and fraudulent documentation.

The powers that be are now simply trying to run out the clock on Kline's tenure by stalling the investigation until after the November election.

It has now been learned on high authority that someone(s) secretly left cell phone(s) on in the vicinity of the pro-lifers' meeting with Brownback and piped the conversation to his offices in Wichita and/or Topeka, most likely both....

]]> In addition, Howe campaign committee member Karl Hansen has admitted that an unnamed Brownback staffer called him and gave him the names of the people attending the meeting, at least 1 of which he called within minutes after the meeting ended.

Pro-lifers do not think Brownback knew their conversation was being secretly audited. He did not know they were awaiting him until he nadvertently walked by the windowed room in which they sat.

Many questions...

Should everyone walking into Brownback's office expect their conversations to be piped to others?

Would Brownback have been comfortable had one of the pro-lifers turned their cell phone on and piped their meeting to Kline's office?

Is it a matter of course for Brownback's office to give out names of people who visit his office to other people?

Did Brownback's staff give him all the information he needed to know to make an informed decision on his Howe endorsement?

On the latter question, another little bombshell: Brownback told pro-lifers in the meeting he would reconsider his endorsement of Howe should Kline get in the race.

Yesterday WorldNetDaily.com covered the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point incident, wherein pro-abort Student Government Association member Roderick King vandalized a display of memorial crosses placed with permission by the campus group Pointers for Life.

]]> But worse is the fact that despite the students' complaint, the Student Government Association has declined to take action.

"So much for choice..." wrote TexasRed on Stanek's forum page.

"Wow! All I can say is welcome to the abortion debate Canadian-style," wrote Rae. "We can't protest or debate abortion in Canada because it's considered a basic human right (since when?)." Never mind that the human baby doesn't have even the basic human right to life.

"This man has serious anger problems. I wonder how many unborn baby skeletons he has in his closet...?" she wrote.

Actually, I was thinking the same thing Rae.

WND included more background info on the story:

The campus group Pointers for Life had put up the Cemetery of the Innocents display last week, then spent the next morning repairing the damage from someone who had vandalized the field of rows of white crosses representing the victims of abortion.

Then they were trashed a second time, only this time the pro-life campaigners were armed with a video camera.

As students looked on, King led a group of angry students by walking through the rows of crosses and plucking them from the ground and tossing them.

Campus security was summoned, and when an officer arrived, most of the students left. King did not.

Breaking news: Another MI abortionist trashes babies in dumpster

I think I've been away from the OR too long, because the video I just watched of what pro-lifers retrieved from the dumpster at the Women's Advisory Center abortion mill in Livonia, MI, made me queasy....

]]> Monica Miller warned me the video was NC-17 rated. Seeing baby skulls and body parts and so much blood in the same trash as McDonald's and Olive Garden wrappers just got to me.

Citizens for a Pro-Life Society has posted this story on its website but hasn't yet released it to the press.

In April MI pro-lifers returned to search dumpsters at Alberto Hodari's infamous abortion mills to see if he had relapsed and begun throwing babies he had aborted into the trash (which he had not).

They thought while they were at it they'd check the dumpster at WAC and came up with a mother un-lode of aborted babies, many medical records, urine cups with names on them, unused syringes, sharps, and blood everywhere.

WAC is owned by abortionist Reginald Sharpe. He bought it from abortionist Rodolfo Finkelstein (recipient of my first annual abortionist of the year award) in 2005 before Finkelstein fled the country after being convicted of sexual assault of several patients.

In fact, Finkelstein started a late-term laminaria abortion on a mother the day before he fled in March 2005, leaving it for Sharpe to finish. That day Sharpe left the mill while the mother was laboring, and she screamed so loudly her mother in the waiting room called 911. Paramedics arrived and found she had just delivered a 28-week dead baby but was in acute medical trouble, so they rushed her by ambulance to the hospital.

For that WAC job Sharpe was alerted on April 3, 2005, that his license was being suspended for 9 months for committing illegal late-term abortions. 2 days later his clinic burned down for unknown reasons. His license was restored in August 2006, just in time to begin aborting in a new building. Sharpe owns 3 mills.

The MI Department of Environmental Quality conducted its own search of Sharpe's dumpster after pro-lifers alerted it and confirmed finding what they found. But like it did Hodari, DEQ has merely given Sharpe a warning, "less than a slap on the hand," said Monica. "They're basically saying, 'Don't do it again, and we'll be back on this date to check you.'"

Archbishop Wuerl: Pro-abort politicians not my problem

Washington, D.C.'s archbishop Donald Wuerl has responded to complaints he allowed Catholic pro-abort politicians receive communion during the Pope's April 17 Mass at Washington Nationals stadium. Catholic Online reported May 6 that Wuerl wrote in an April 30 Catholic Standard column:

I have always respected the role of the local church and the ministry of the individual bishop as shepherd of the church entrusted to his care....
A decision regarding the refusal of holy Communion to an individual is one that should be made only after clear efforts to persuade and convince the person that their actions are wrong and bear moral consequences....

Presumably this is done in the home diocese where the bishops and priests, the pastors of souls, engage the members of their flock in this type of discussion.

On one hand I think Wuerl expressed a valid concern of not wanting to usurp the authority of a politician's own priest or diocese. He is in a unique position as head of the Catholic Church in D.C., where so many out-of-town infamous Catholics work.

On the other hand, this could read like a cop out....

]]> If a Catholic politician spends a significant amount of time between 2 parishes, doesn't the parish where pro-abortion actions are committed bear some responsibility, even if not the home parish?

I experienced a similar situation. The lead abortionist at Christ Hospital when I worked there was a Catholic named Dr. Steven Ambrose, head of the high risk pregnancy group.

Although Christ was located within the confines of the Archdiocese of Chicago, so Ambrose did his dirty work there, he lived in Westmont, IL, and attended chruch at Holy Trinity, located within the Joliet Diocese.

So for a time neither accepted responsibility for Ambrose. Ultimately the Chicago Archdiocese took up the matter and held a meeting with Ambrose (although it did no good - I know, I continued to work with him). His own priest, meanwhile, refused to stop offering Ambrose communion. But I give Cardinal George credit for trying.

But I digress. Is Wuerl following Catholic protocol of which I'm unaware?

UWSP ignores pro-abort student vandalism of pro-life display

The video below is incredible. It reenforces the fact that the rule of law applies to all but pro-aborts.

On May 1 pro-abort University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point students, led by UWSP Student Senator Roderick King, vandalized in broad daylight and while being filmed a pre-approved display by the UWSP pro-life group Pointers for Life.

The display was rows of crosses called the Cemetery of the Innocents to commemorate babies killed by abortion....

UPDATE, 2p: UWSP has issued a statement [HT: Kristan at SFL] calling King's behavior "unacceptable" and may be doing something ("University procedures are being followed") but won't say what.

]]> Unbelievably, even after a university security guard showed up and told King to stop, he didn't, and the wimpy campus cop just let him continue ripping up crosses. King's illogical excuse was, "If there is a student on this campus that has had an abortion or that might be having an abortion, might be going through this, you want this up in front of them? Are you crazy?"

Illogical because if abortion is such a great right and a win-win (a win for moms offing unwanted babies and a win for unwanted babies being rescued from mad moms by death), what awful thing is there to "go through"? And if King actually believed that, was he not generating more abortion by trying to keep mothers ignorant of the ramifications?

Worse, despite a written complaint by PFL, the UWSP Student Government Association has not disciplined or removed King from SGA.

Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Bob Tomlinson apologized to PFL. Big whoop if there's not going to be justice.

I called UWSP Chancellor of Student Affairs Linda Bunnell at 715-346-2123 (email: lbunnell@uwst.edu) just now and was told she is in a meeting (what for, I wonder). The person answering the phone said the university will issue a statement on its website under "news" later today.

I asked whether UWSP would discipline King and was told any decision would be guarded by privacy laws.

In a written statement, Kristan Hawkins, Executive Director of Students for Life of America, got it right: "[C]ampus pro-life groups are being singled out and excluded from the guaranteed freedom of speech and expression on college campuses."

BTW, good work on PFL's part for having a video camera with them. Pro-lifers should always have video cams with them when they engage in public dissent.

New Stanek WND column, "Is Brownback betraying pro-lifers?"

On April 24, KS pro-life U.S. Sens. Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts issued a press release endorsing Steve Howe for Johnson County district attorney.
The release called the position an "open seat."

It is not.

Phill Kline is currently the appointed district attorney and has been urged to reconsider his decision not to run to retain his seat in November....

Kline is the only DA in the country with a pending criminal case against a Planned
Parenthood....

Brownback knows pro-lifers are encouraging Kline to stay... because many influential pro-lifers called him and asked him to wait for Kline to decide before endorsing. There was no hurry. The filing deadline is still over a month away....

But Brownback... endorsed Howe anyway....

The question is whose help does Brownback want?

RINOS and hacks want the Planned Parenthood investigation ended. They fear a run by Kline will stir more Democrats to vote than might otherwise.

They also consider the Johnson County DA position a launching pad to a bigger and better thing: The AG's office.

Was Brownback enticed to support Howe for a promise of support in his gubernatorial bid by non-conservative Republicans?

Or perhaps he fears sharing the ticket with Kline in 2010?

Happy Mother's Day from Planned Parenthood

"Happy Mother's Day" greetings from Planned Parenthood are as grotesque as its "Choice on Earth" Christmas greetings.

Today PP CEO Cecile Richards issued an email plea for $ under the guise of a Mother's Day greeting and using her dead mother and daughter as props.

This pathetic woman is so psychologically and emotionally invested in abortion she has no semblance of a conscience left. If and when she has grandchildren, I'm sure she'll use them, too.

Note the numerous purposeful times she - or, rather, PP's pr firm - invokes the words "mother," "daughter," and "grandmother."

"Legacy"? What legacy? Pro-aborts can leave no legacy, another reason we can undoubtedly know our side will eventually win - through attrition.

Farah: "Life, a tricky issue for Obama to stomach"

I urge you to watch what happened when he was asked that question last month in a candidate forum at Messiah College in Pennsylvania.

Watch him melt. Watch him squirm. Watch him reach for words that fail him. Watch him admit he hasn't really come to grips with one of the very hottest public policy issues of our time. Watch him try to come up with an answer that won't offend anyone....

]]> Now try to imagine this man going toe to toe with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong-il or Hu Jintao or Vladimir Putin.

The man cannot even express coherently what he believes about when human life begins.

And despite the gibberish coming out of his mouth, he has studied this issue. He has been coached on it. He knows what he believes. He has voted on this issue as a state legislator in Illinois and as a U.S. senator in Washington.
