Autumn speaking schedule

mic.jpgI've posted my autumn speaking schedule.

Check it out, and if you live in near where I'll be, make arrangements to swing by!

Comments:

Jill, I see you will be coming to Ohio. I'll hope to make it there.

Heather, no way! That would be great!

Ohio's the closest one to me too, but it's still quite a ways away. If you were coming to Michigan, though, I would see you--pro-life as you are and pro-choice as I am. I'm just interested in hearing you speak, even if I would not agree with the content.

Leah, I'd love to have you as my guest the next time I speak in MI. But I don't think it'll be any time soon, because I've spoken to just about all the groups there. Still, I'm glad you'd make the effort. Want a dvd? I'll send one to you. Email me your address.

Jill, I wish that you could speak in Alabama one day. I would love to see you in person!

Posted by: Bethany at August 12, 2007 9:24 AM

Oh, I would love to see Alabama one day... Is it really beautiful? Illinois is so flat and boring to look at, corn fields are interesting for about 5 minutes...

You will absolutely love La Crosse, WI in Autumn Jill. It is BEAUTIFUL! My parents are from Winona, MN which is 30 miles west of there. I am not sure if you have every been there before Jill, but La Crosse is surrounded by Bluffs. With the leafs changing colors it makes the bluffs gorgeous! Enjoy!

Rosie, I personally think Alabama is gorgeous...especially since I moved here after living in Kansas. Kansas was very flat (from what I remember- I was about 11), and we rarely saw many trees when driving around. In Alabama, trees are in abundance, and so are the hills! (also, the weather really nice!) I love it here.

I have a good friend from college who lives in Boone. It's beautiful. Mountains galore. I wish I was still up in nc so I could come.

Are you coming to TX anytime soon?

Posted by: Lauren at August 12, 2007 1:55 PM

Jill: When are you coming to Orlando? I'll talk with JMJ Life Center. They hold an annual fundraising banquet. Two years ago they brought in Kitty Martinez, wife of senator Mel Martinez. They're solidly pro-life and I believe they adopted too. Any way, just come to O-do, will you? I'ts hot but the beaches are cool!

Bethany: Where in Alabama? Are you near the EWTN studios? Heard it's lovely it's Bama. Been told northern Georgia is breathtaking, too. The cost of living in Florida has pressured so many people to hit the road to the "upper" south.

Bethany,
It sounds wonderful. Have you ever been to Illinois? You would probably miss home instantly. The politics and politicians are crazy too, I think I heard Chicago was the third most corrupt city in the US. Oh and the taxes...

Bethany, I've taped at the EWTN studio near Birmingham. I've also spoken in Mobile.

Carder, I'd love to work it out to speak to your group. LOVE Orlando! Previously I've spoken in Ft. Lauderdale, Port St. Lucie, and Ocala.

Lauren, No TX in my near future. Have spoken previously in Dallas a couple times, Grand Prairie, Paris, Houston, and Gainesville. Also taped a show or two in Denton at Life Dynamics.

JM, I'm really looking forward to going to LaCrosse. My husband goes there on business once or twice a year and has always said I'd love it there. In fact, he's going on that trip with me. He tags along when I go places of interest to him.

Jill: Already emailed the good folks at JMJ. I'll see how they respond and keep you posted.

HOw was the taping experience at EWTN?

Posted by: carder at August 13, 2007 6:40 AM

Carder, it was too quick. In and out the same day. I got a tour of the studios, though. Quite impressive. State of the art. I taped a show for Fr. Pavone.

I did have a couple of interesting experiences. As you know I'm not Catholic, so when I sat down for lunch, I had no idea who I was sitting with.

Someone had recently lent me a book on Catholic converts, and I had read a few chapters. Through conversation at lunch, I realized one of the men was one of the chapters of that book - Marcus Grodi. Another, too. A black man... a priest now, I think. We had a good laugh about it. I happened to have the book with me. Grodi said it had been awhile since he'd read about his own conversion, so I grabbed the book for him to read.

Also, Alveda King was taping for Fr. Pavone that day, too, Martin Luther King's niece, who is pro-life. It was her first time back in Birmingham since her church was bombed and four little friends killed 40 years before. She took a tour of Birmingham and was quite affected. We had a good conversation. It was the first time I heard the comparison between the "property" rights of slave owners and pregnant mothers.

This was back in 2000 or 2001.

Carder, actually, the Shrine of the most Blessed Sacrament is about 5 miles from me, and I think that EWTN tapes sister Angelica there. :)
We also live a few miles away from the Ava Maria Grotto, which is amazing! Have you ever heard of it?
Bethany, I've taped at the EWTN studio near Birmingham. I've also spoken in Mobile.

Jill, if you ever do come to Birmingham or Mobile, let me know. I'll make a point to let my hubby know and I will try my best to make it there!

Hi Jill,
I will definitely put October 4th on my calendar.
Stillwater MN is in my area and I would love to see you speak!

Posted by: Sandy at August 13, 2007 9:29 AM

Bethany and Sandy, it would be great to meet you both... maybe Sandy in 8 weeks! Sandy, let me know if you definitely decide to go.

Posted by: Jill Stanek at August 13, 2007 10:18 AM

Woooooooaaaah. I've driven past that St. Croix place in Stillwater a LOT in the past, especially when I went to work in Stillwater.

Perhaps I may have time to stop by to say "hallo" or something. :)

Posted by: Rae at August 14, 2007 8:02 PM

Rae, that would be great. I'd like to invite you to attend the banquet as my guest. I'll make arrangements. Let me know!
