Did Sen. Jeff Sessions just call Elena Kagan a liar?

UPDATE, 9:30p: The strategy of the White House from the beginning has been to portend Elena Kagan's confirmation to the US Supreme Court as a done deal, and perhaps it was - until her slimy Senate Judiciary Committee testimony about the part she played re: the partial birth abortion ban.

jeff sessions photo.jpgYesterday in DC the chatter was that Kagan's confirmation to the US Supreme Court can still be stopped. She may have committed perjury.

This afternoon Senator Jeff Sessions, who had to cancel a press conference earlier in the day about all this, issued a statement about AUL's report wherein he came as close as genteel Senate speak allows to calling Kagan a liar...

Breaking: Pro-lifers to sue Jimmy Kimmel

My July 2 post ended with:

I asked whether there was going to be a lawsuit for the June 25 attempt to light-fry Ryan Bueler and was told he hadn't decided whether or not to file. I hope he does. Stay tuned.

Today I heard word that Bueler and perhaps one other are indeed planning to sue...

Pro-abort bakes bloody fetus cookies

Imagine had Michael Vick been discovered not only to be into dog torture but braggadociously into baking cookies of mutilated dogs. We'd say he had an extra dose of sick in him.

No doubt pro-abort Rachel Joy Larris will clap her hands in glee by the attention I'm giving the bloody fetus cookies she cleverly baked and decorated. Rachel won't get it because she has an extra dose of sick in her.

Woman sues Church of Scientology for forced abortions, human trafficking

I've written before about allegations made against the Church of Scientology for forcing its workers to get abortions.

On June 13 the St. Petersburg Times published findings of a significant investigation it conducted.

claire headley.jpgThe exposé includes information about a federal lawsuit filed in January 2009 by former Scientology member Claire Headley, who alleges church leaders forced her to undergo 2 abortions and also violated human trafficking laws.

Clearwater, FL, is home to one of the church's "2 most important operations, its spiritual headquarters," according to The Times, the other being its "500-acre international management base in the desert 80 miles east of Los Angeles."...

A baby escaped death at Planned Parenthood in Sunnyside, WA, today

You have been such an encouragement to me and my family, I want to pass along the events of my morning to you in hopes that it will be an encouragement to you.

I stopped by the gas station down the street from my office to buy a soda. There was an Asian woman at the counter asking for directions in broken English.

Nebraska legislature approves fetal pain bill, heads to governor's desk

UPDATE, 4/13, 11:35a: Ok, the fetal pain really did pass today. I'm told Gov. Dave Heineman will sign it into law this afternoon. Hello, Supreme Court, good-bye Carhart?

The Christian Post reported April 10:

leroy carhart nebraska fetal pain abortion.jpg

Notably, LB1103 could be a serious threat to NE's infamous abortionist, LeRoy Carhart, who is one of the few in the country who perform late-term abortions. Carhart reportedly aborts fetuses up to 22 weeks electively, and even older if there are medical reasons. The exclusion of the mental health exception is considered by many as a direct response to Cahart as it would prevent him from using such an excuse to perform late-term abortions.

If passed, the fetal pain bill could force Carhart to relocate his business to another....

Louisville abortion clinic becomes a war zone

life escorts 2.jpgI reported January 5 that sidewalk counselors at EMW Women's Surgical Center abortion mill in Louisville had begun wearing similar orange vests as deathscorts, to their consternation.

Now WHAS11 reported yesterday the place is starting to look like a war zone every Saturday morning, when abortions are committed.

I've never seen anything like this. I think the added mix of 40 Days for Lifers right now is adding to the chaos - in a good way, obviously. I can't imagine why any mom would proceed through this mire to abort her baby.

Pro-abort deathscort Drew Peterson complained about "violence," but the only violence I saw was someone from his side shoving someone from our side. And, of course, he ignores the ultimate violence committed against preborn children that he is enabling.

Discovery of bodies of late-term aborted babies sparks outrage in Nepal

Breaking: Kelly and O'Reilly to both cover AL Planned Parenthood probation story today

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for breaking.jpgYesterday I reported that the AL Dept. of Public Health had placed Planned Parenthood of Birmingham on probation as a result of an undercover video shot by Lila Rose and LiveAction.org.

The video showed this PP was willing to help a 14-year-old girl cover up her rape by her 31-year-old boyfriend.

This is a developing story. The ADPH report, garnered by the Live Action team yesterday afternoon, shows other gross violations found at the Birmingham PP.

This is all tentative but as it stands Fox's Megyn Kelly, who now has her own 2-hr show beginning at 1p EST, is going to run Lila's original video and cover the story. Lila may or may not appear. Likely not since time is too short.

Then, Bill O'Reilly also plans to cover this story tonight. Again, not sure whether Lila will appear. Details are being worked out now.

This could all change, of course. I'll keep you posted.

Abortion chain owner Susan Hill is dead

Susan Hill 1.jpg2/3, 6:53p: If it's true these things happen in 3s, here's the final death in an abortion trilogy. First, abortionist George Tiller, then abortionist Eugene Glick, and now abortion chain owner Susan Hill.

Hill died on February 1. I don't know her birthday beyond the year, 1948, making her either 61 or 62. This video says Hill had lung cancer, and this article states she died of breast cancer. If Hill had an abortion or hormonal contraceptive history, which also would have increased her risk, they are unknown....

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for breaking.jpgOn November 16, CNN published a story stating pro-life Democrat Sen. Ben Nelson was backing away from full support of the Stupak-Pitts Amendment in the Senate's socialized healthcare bill.

Subsequently, Democrats for Life president Kristen Day informed me this wasn't true.

Yesterday I requested a statement of clarification from Sen. Nelson and have received the following from his communication's office:

"To earn my support, the final bill must not use taxpayers' dollars to fund abortions. My preference is to see Stupak-like language in the final bill. Having said that, I won't rule out other solutions that could incorporate the principles of Hyde and would ensure no premium subsidies would pay for abortions," said Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska.

Key terminology is "ensure no premium subsidies would pay for abortion," which is a point about which I specifically requested clarification. Sen. Nelson was reiterating his opposition to language permitting private insurance companies to pay for abortions that would receive federal subsidies.

As yet unclear is whether Sen. Nelson will vote against cloture this weekend. I've requested an answer from his office on that.

LATimes: Man arrested on suspicion of "murder" of his "unborn child"

Well, this unfolding story is tragic and curious. From the Los Angeles Times, yesterday:

Joshua Woodward, murder, unborn baby, abortion, fetus, Humpty Dumpty.jpg

A 37-year-old man was booked early this morning on suspicion of murder in the death of an unborn child believed to be his, Los Angeles police said.

Joshua Woodward, whom police described as a businessman with "ties to Chicago and Miami," was taken into custody by homicide detectives about 3:15 a.m. today.... He was booked... and is being held in lieu of $2 million bail, police said.

Woodward's arrest followed an investigation of "the suspicious circumstances of a miscarriage" reported Oct. 19, around the 13th week of gestation, police said. They released no other details....

Most interesting is phraseology. S/he is an "unborn child" when the mother wants him/her but "fetus" when she doesn't. And it's "murder" when the mother doesn't want her "unborn child" killed and "abortion" when she wants her "fetus" killed.

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for breaking.jpgPresident Barack Obama spoke October 16 at a volunteerism forum hosted by former President George H. W. Bush at Texas A&M University.

During his remarks, Obama plugged his new government program, serve.gov:

And that's the point I want to emphasize today: that service isn't separate from our national priorities, or secondary to our national priorities - it's integral to achieving our national priorities. It's how we will meet the challenges of our time....

Breaking News: Pro-life protester shot in Lansing, MI

UPDATE, 9/12, 7:55a: Cal Zastrow, friend and prayer partner of Jim Pouillon, reported in an email Pouillon's granddaughter was in the school where Jim was shot.

UPDATE, 9/12, 7:45a: Grr, did this RH Reality Check post piss me off ('scuse me) on Jim Pouillon's shooter, Harlan James Drake - and I said so.

    jim pouillon missionaries preborn.jpgUPDATE 9/12, 6:50a:

    From CNN, last night:

Authorities have charged an Owosso, MI, man with 2 counts of 1st-degree premeditated murder in the Friday shooting deaths of an anti-abortion activist and another man, a prosecutor's office said.

NOW rift: Gandy vs. old vs. new

The Feminist Majority reported June 22:

The National Organization for Women elected Terry O'Neill to be its next President in a tight race this past weekend at their national conference in Indianapolis, IN.... O'Neill's ticket won by a razor-thin margin over Latifa Lyles, who currently serves as Membership VP, and her team.

How innocuous. But here's the backstory - indicating dissension in the ranks - from the New York Times...

A breath separates one murder from two

Unfortunately, the headline is not new: "Pregnant woman killed, baby cut from womb." But unlike recent cases in PA and MO, the baby in this story tragically died along with his mother.

The perpetrator will be charged with 2 acts of homicide, right?

Not necessarily, according to the latest reports on the brutal murder of a pregnant OR mother and her preborn baby boy. The backstory, according to ABC News:

Police in a suburb of Portland, OR became suspicious after a woman named Korena Elaine Roberts [pictured right] called for help reporting her newborn wasn't breathing.

Doctors couldn't revive the baby, and alerted authorities when they determined Roberts had not given birth. Inside Roberts' home, they discovered the body of Heather Snively [pictured below left] inside a crawl space.

At this point, police haven't determined whether Snively gave birth before she died or if the baby was removed....

    "Fetus" flushed like fish

This is a strange story. I just called the Mesa, AZ, Police Public Relations Dept., and it is what it is. I was told there is a "procedural" investigation ongoing.

flushing toilet.jpgWhile I'm sure there is protocol for removing dead human bodies from crime scenes, there is apparently a disconnect when it comes to removing premature human baby bodies. Stories about this incident called the baby a "fetus," but actually s/he was not. Once a baby is born, no matter what gestational age, s/he may be called any number of terms - baby, neonate, infant, newborn, child - but "fetus" is no longer an option.

So officers inexplicably decided to flush this baby - evidence if nothing else - down the toilet. My first thought was the baby had been medically aborted, another reason to retain the body, because this likely would have been an illegal abortion.

If nothing else - if there were no ulterior motives for literally flushing the evidence - then this shows utter callousness regarding the humanity of very young children.

From the Associated Press, June 4...

Notre Dame student 1st confirmed IN case of Swine Flu

I'm not touching the theology on this one (although a liberal is happy to, read on). I'm simply glad to read the student has almost recovered. But pragmatically speaking, this may give both Fr. John Jenkins and President Abortion an out that saves face. Orrr it could make them dig in their heels. Who knows? From WSBT.com today:

State and local health officials are working to contain a confirmed case of swine flu on the campus of Notre Dame. A student who became sick last week tested positive for the flu strain Tuesday. The question now: has the virus spread?

    swine flu2.jpg

It is the only confirmed case in IN so far. University administrators say the student is nearly fully recovered, and is now resting in "voluntary isolation" at home on campus after coming to the health center with flu-like symptoms 6 days ago....

Notre Dame Health Services Medical Director Dr. Rebecca Moswinski... and Notre Dame VP for News and Information Dennis Brown declined to identify the student's gender, age or home state, and wouldn't comment on whether the student lived on campus or off, citing an ongoing investigation into who the student might have come into contact with while carrying the virus....

ALL expands National Pro-Life T-Shirt Day to WEEK

    NPLTWa1.pngby Kelli

American Life League has expanded its National Pro-Life T-Shirt Day to National Pro-Life T-Shirt WEEK beginning yesterday through May 4.

    ALL's plan:

... to increase awareness of abortion and the reality of how many innocent babies are murdered every day.

Primarily, we are concerned with getting people to think of the child as a person from the moment of creation. It is much harder to murder a person than it is to "remove a lump of tissues," and it is only when we finally get the nation thinking in those terms that we will be able to make abortion a crime, as it should be.

Just by wearing the T-shirt and being out there in public, you will help to accomplish that goal.

ALL is also hosting a "Yo! Where's the shirt?" photo contest. Registrants can win pro-life gear, music, and iTunes gift cards.

And you say you don't own a pro-life t-shirt? ALL is selling those shown in the graphic for a mere $6.50 each.

    Specter switches parties

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for breaking.jpg

Several news outlets are reporting Sen. Arlen Specter of PA is leaving the GOP for the Democratic Party.

Read the article in USA Today.

Sen. Specter has also made a statement regarding the switch, claiming:

...the Republican Party has moved far to the right. Last year, more than 200,000 Republicans in Pennsylvania changed their registration to become Democrats.

I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans.

Stop deportation and "honor killing" of Roohi Tabassum

    Roohi.jpeg.jpgby Kelli

The Toronto Sun reported this month on the case of Roohi Tabassum (pictured right), a 44-year-old Pakistani woman living in Canada, set to be deported April 28.

Many have rallied and contacted the Canadian government to allow Tabassum to remain in the country, claiming if she is deported she will become the victim of an honor killing.

Her husband, Faisal Javed, a Sunni, has written her, according to the TS...

Tonight: ARTL anti-Coulter/Romney video on O'Reilly

I've received an email from American Right to Life that Bill O'Reilly will play its "The Ann Coulter hang-ups" video tonight and allow Coulter an opportunity to rebut. Adds the email:

Fox News producer Dan Bank turned down ARTL's offer to provide an opposing guest preferring to let Ann Coulter defend herself unopposed. ARTL's president Brian Rohrbough: "We're looking forward to a fair and balanced report tonight as though there could be any such thing as fair or balanced when it comes to defending those who intentionally kill unborn children."

The video is almost 10 minutes long, so obviously, if O'Reilly does what ARTL says he is going to do, he'll only show a clip. Here 'tis:

The email goes on to narcisstically claim, "ARTL's... video... and its associated website AnnCoulterApology.com, document the growing rift between the right-wing pundit and popular Christian pro-family leaders."

In fact, the lnk between all in the video is ARTL, a group I gave up on as off the deep end last year when it picketed James Dobson at Focus on the Family.

ARTL continues to engage in friendly fire. So many real enemies to fight - Barack Obama anyone? - and it picks on Ann Coulter and Mitt Romney. How I wish Mitt Romney were in the White House at this moment.

A reminder that 1-1/2 years ago the ARTL board gave itself 12 years to stop abortion in the U.S. It failed to hold its 1st annual conference last year.

Breaking news: FRC pulls out of VAT meetings over Brownback

See previous post, Fireworks between Brownback and conservative leaders.

Thumbnail image for breaking.jpgFrom CBN's Brody File, today:

The Brody File has learned that the Family Research Council is taking a "temporarily leave of absence" from the socially conservative "Values Action Team" meetings on Capitol Hill because of Senator Sam Brownback's support of pro-choice HHS Secretary-Designate Kathleen Sebelius. FRC says they may rejoin the meetings AFTER the Sebelius nomination is finished.

Senator Brownback chairs those "VAT" meetings every week on Capitol Hill and he is one of the biggest pro-life defenders in the Senate. However, he issued a statement this past week in support of Kathleen Sebelius. Pro-Life groups believe her record on abortion is extreme and have been very disappointed that he has not come out against her....

    Blago blabs

don roma rod.jpgOn WLS talk radio's Don and Roma's Show in Chicago today, former Gov. Rod Blagojevich started to let loose about IL political carnal knowledge. Rest assured, if he gets indicted, he's going to blab.

And even if not, it appears he's planning to write a book. And, oh, what a book that will be, because the sorts of things Blagojevich got caught for is normal behavior for so many politicians, and not just in IL, as he revealed he knows this morning. He gets sidetracked once, but keep reading...

Breaking news: The Mona Lisa Project, video 2

Thumbnail image for breaking.jpgAs soon as I clicked "publish" on the previous post, I received an email announcing the release of the 2nd video by the Mona Lisa Project exposing a 2nd IN Planned Parenthood as a child rapist protector, this 1 in Indianapolis.

This video was shot the same day as the video at the Bloomington PP, only 90 miles away.

In both stings, Lila Rose posed as a 13-year-old girl who told PP employees she was having sex with a 31-year-old man. This is underage rape according to IN law and immediately reportable to authorities if the victim is under age 14.

IN PP may have fired the Bloomington nurse, but this 2nd video shows a pattern. In it 2 Indianapolis PP staffers also turn a blind eye to the victim's abuse.

The 1st staffer stated, "We don't really care about who, what, the age of the boyfriend." She then forwarded Rose to a counselor, who stated after hearing the "boyfriend's age, "I don't care how old he is." The counselor added, "The surrounding states don't have parental consent. I can't tell you any more."

Breaking News: Romney drops. Holy snikeys, Batman, what now?

    by Mary Kay Hastings

    1:08pm EST, Reuters:

Republican candidate Mitt Romney dropped out of the U.S. presidential race on Thursday, a decision that makes Sen. John McCain the all-but-certain nominee of his party.

"I feel I have to now stand aside, for our party and for our country," he said in a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Romney lost 14 of 21 states on Super Tuesday, the biggest day of U.S. presidential voting ahead of November's election, while Arizona Sen. McCain savored coast-to-coast wins and cemented his position as front-runner....
