Lots of good political satire in the form of cartoons again this week. Have whittled my favorites down to 3, in descending order...

Comments:
The first one is a Dudley Do Right parody with Snidley Whiplash being the Insurance Co and BHO being Dudley.
Which Senator is that supposed to be in the last panel?
Posted by: LizFromNebraska at August 23, 2009 11:19 AMLiz, my guess is Harry Reid.
Posted by: Jill StanekThis an old Gary Larson 'Far Side' cartoon.
The patient could be 'health care' in the hands of liberal humanist bureaucrats'
and/or
the US economy in the hands of obama economic advisers.
Either way their solutions are either malfeasance or misfeasnce or both.
They poking around blindly and indifferently into systems they are ignorant of or ideologically opposed to.

Posted by: Bethany at August 23, 2009 12:57 PMObama is facing the wrong direction on his horse. That's funny.
Posted by: Janet at August 23, 2009 1:25 PMThank you Bethany.
May it's release be vinicated by fullfilling the purpose for which it was intended.
At the very least, it IS funny.

"Which Senator is that supposed to be in the last panel?"

The woman (The essential 'woman' who is behind every successful man.) looks like the 'after' photo of Sen. Barbra Mikulski subsequent to completing the 'Medifast' program.

B.O. is riding out the same way he rode in and he is not going to be changing whorses in the middle of his 'dream'.
The question which remains unanswered is: Who will be the engineer of the fast approaching locomotive, Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid?
These are the other two figureheads in the unholy trinity of the liberal/humanist godhead.

Posted by: kbhvac at August 23, 2009 1:42 PMFound the 3rd one very, very accurate as to how liberals act when they are found out.
So..when will they remove the one about funding abortions?

That's a little trickier because they try so hard to mask it. Maybe a pro-lifer could connect the lines for them.
Posted by: Janet at August 23, 2009 2:37 PMThe bigger issue si that as usual the elected reps write a gargantuan bill that leaves the details of enforcement and implementation to appointed bureaucrats. They do this to avoid any responsibility when the program fails.
In he case of health care, when the government boards start telling parents their children with down syndrome do not qualify for life saving treatment because they failed to meet the cost effectiveness formula, the reps simply say "don't blame me."
In the MA legislature almost everything is done on a "voice vote" with no roll call record so that everyone can go home and say they did not vote for a tax hike or other screw job on tax payers.
Loved the "Dudley Do-Right" spoof... grew up watching that sort of thing. And reading The Far Side, by the way. (Thanks for the love of old cartoons and comics, Dad!) LOL
I always love the "Sunday Funnies" on this blog.
Regarding the prayer request, I passed on some more information (including the website and helpline number you guys provided, thanks!) but have not heard any updated news yet. Thanks for the continued prayers. :-)

A nice relief from the depressing reality of the subject.
The good news is the American people are catching on. The President's poll numbers continue to slide downward as demonstrated by the following charts:
Posted by: Mr. H at August 23, 2009 8:26 PMMy dad doesn't believe me about the Death Panels thing that is/was in the health care legislation. And he's not even a pro abortion democrat (he's been a republican since 2006).
Posted by: LizFromNebraska at August 23, 2009 8:59 PMHey Liz, i do not know if it will convince your father but last week Sen. Waxman was reported to have taken out Section 1233 of H.B. 3200. Hannity and Greta Van Susteren reported this on their programs on FoxNews. Why would they take this section out of the bill only after the national uproar if it was not there in the first place? And why was this included in the bill in the first place if they were not interested in social engineering? Also take a look at Jill's blog on August 20th titled "Human Events:"End of life kills Obamacare?" and the link in the article titled "Section 1233 authors are major proponents of euthanasia, assisted suicide". The Bible says by their fruit you shall know them. Why would they have people with ties to euthanasia write this section of the bill in the first place? God bless. Hope this helps.
