Stanek weekend question: Is it acceptable to out the mother or father of one’s aborted child?

image(Be sure to voice your vote on this question on the poll at the bottom of this post.)

Former tennis champion Jimmy Connors is taking heat for outing the abortion of his 70s girlfriend and tennis champion Chris Evert in his new autobiography, The Outsider.

From a May 20 Slate article by abortion proponent Amanda Marcotte entitled, “Jimmy Connors is woefully out of line on Chris Evert’s abortion”:

A species that “adapts” to the environment by killing its own is in crisis and disease

imageA species that “adapts” to the world by killing its own members is a species in crisis and disease.

A species that cooperates among their members and cares for their young until they are strong enough is a species that is adapting to their environment and improving their chances for long term survival.

  • The woman from El Salvador whom abortion advocates have been claiming (for weeks) would die if she didn’t get an abortion will have an early Caesarean section delivery of her child next week, according to the Telegraph.

For some reason, the title of one abortion advocate’s article is claiming a Caesarean delivery is an “emergency abortion” though the writer admits it’s not an abortion in the article. They must have really wanted that “life-saving” abortion.

  • Secular Pro-Life writes that the CEO of Sir Richard’s condom company intends to donate one condom to a developing country for each condom purchased because “if everyone bought our condoms, we could really change the world.” SPL says:

According to the CDC, while condoms are highly effective at preventing HIV transmission, the typical use failure rate for condoms as a contraceptive is a dismal eighteen percent. People often fail to make that distinction, and therefore do not appreciate the chances of pregnancy as fully as they should. No doubt that misunderstanding will be magnified in a region that has little in the way of healthcare access and sex education.

Pro-life vid of day: Students create “shocking” anti-rape underwear

by LauraLoo

Following the violent gang-rape of a New Delhi woman last year that made international headlines, engineering students in India have created anti-rape underwear that they say will prevent sexual assault.

Called Society Harnessing Equipment, or SHE, the device will deliver up to 82 electric shocks of 3,800 kV to an attacker, according to The Times of India. To prevent the wearer from being shocked, SHE’s inner side is “insulated with a polymer,” according to creators Niladri Basu, Manisha Mohan and Rimpi Tripathy, students at SRM University, Chennai.

The device is also equipped with GPS that can deliver alerts to police and the victim’s parents.

It’s reported that the ladies plan to mass produce their products for rollout this month.

Couple plans dolphin-assisted childbirth

dolphin birth coupleIt is about reconnecting as humans with the dolphins so we can coexist in this world together and learn from one another….

Having that connection with the pod of dolphins anytime – even if the birth doesn’t happen in the water – still brings peace, comfort and strength to the mother and baby during labor.

  • Andrea Mrozek writes about the death of notorious Canadian abortionist Henry Morgentaler:

Abortion is the “choice” in that critical moment in a woman’s life when hope went on holiday.

This is Morgentaler’s legacy: The death of a child, renamed a choice, and without limit in Canada.

He deserves neither all the credit nor all the blame, of course. When the Supreme Court of Canada heard the now infamous Morgentaler case in 1988, their intention was not to bestow abortion as an unfettered right. Instead, the court went so far as to acknowledge a legitimate public interest in restricting abortion, and then threw the question back to Parliament — which has been holding the ball ever since.

Pro-life video of the day: Former abortionist testifies

by Hans Johnson

Among the witnesses at last Thursday’s Congressional hearing about a bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks gestation was Dr. Anthony Levatino of New Mexico. He had performed about 1,200 abortions before reassessing his career after the loss of his daughter in a tragic car accident.

The bill in question is called the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Said Dr. Levatino: “If you refuse to believe that this procedure inflicts severe pain on that unborn child, please think again.”
