Most should be aware of this story by now, as explained by FoxNews.com, May 12:
Parents in IL are outraged over a move by a local high school to scrap its girls basketball team's trip to AZ over the Grand Canyon State's new immigration law.
The Highland Park High School varsity basketball team has been selling cookies for months to raise money for a tournament in AZ..
Now, after winning their 1st conference title in 26 years, the girls are being denied the opportunity to play in the tournament over safety concerns and because the trip "would not be aligned" with the school's "beliefs and values," Asst. Superintendent Suzan Hebson told the Chicago Tribune....
Sarah Palin has spent the last 2 days in IL, 1st pointing out the school's inconsistency, as she wrote on Facebook last night...
But apparently the school has no problem sending kids on trips to China, which has a population control policy that is anti-girl in practice - contributing to female infanticide and abandonment and sex-selective abortions. So, is China - with its many serious human rights violations (too many to list here) - "aligned" with the "values and beliefs" of the school? But our sister-state of AZ is not? Really?
... and then encouraging the girls to "go rogue" at an event last night...
Palin and WIND's Amy Jacobson have launched a Facebook page, "Support the Highland Park High School Girls Basketball Team."
But this subject is related more to our issue than just by contrasting AZ's plan simply to enforce federal illegal immigration laws when the feds won't against China's one-child policy that plays out with forced abortions and sterilization, and female infanticide.
Illegal immigration hurts and exploits women and children, as Lori Ziganto at RedState.com wrote on May 12:
Illegal immigration is another area where the true racist and misogynistic tendencies of Liberals/Leftists appear. They have turned a blind eye to things like human trafficking as well as other extremely harmful aspects of illegal immigration....
What isn't mentioned ever? Concern for The Children ™ who are suffering due to strained medical and educational resources. Concern for our own minority and lower income communities who are losing jobs or are earning lower incomes due to the cheap labor in the form of illegal immigration. Apparently, having their lawns manicured and their tables bussed cheaply means more to the left than the human beings providing such services. Why have legal immigrants when you can have illegal ones as figurative slaves, huh, left?
Nor do they show concern For the Women, who are brought here, smuggled in illegally, as slaves. This time, I mean that literally:
Col. Randy Powers with the Guilford Co. Sheriff's Dept. [NC] said Caballero was 1 of 4 men inside the home holding a female against her will. He says all 4 men are in the U.S. illegally. He didn't reveal the age of the victim, but also said she is not from the U.S. "We have good reason to believe she was being forced to have sex with patrons that were coming in," says Powers when explaining the abuses the victim suffered.
Human trafficking and the exploitation of women is a direct result of condoning and allowing wide open borders and massive illegal immigration. And the left doesn't care. What's a little enslavement and forced prostitution if it gets us some cheap labor and more bodies at the ballot box?
Not mentioned is that women here illegally who get abortions pay in cash and don't complain about botches either. Nor do they report rapes.

Why is it not unusual that her road to the White House would be paved with something as controversial as immigration. I hope she makes it because I really believe she is pro-life but I think her real challenge is to get big business more accountable for the choices they make and stop blaming everything on illegal immigrants. Good luck with that. If big business would really put value on all of their workforce and do their fair share where would our economy really be. Remember people walk across deserts just to have the opportunity to work here.Posted by: myrtle miller at May 14, 2010 1:21 PM
As the world economy sputters, human trafficking has become the fastest growing criminal enterprise at $9 billion/year. It is tied for second place with illegal arms dealing just behind drugs which tops the list.
The stories of these young girls are heartwrenching.
Once again, the left is clueless with respect to the effect of their policies putting more children in harm's way.
And so the abuse continues, until someone takes a stand and does something to stop it.Posted by: Ed at May 14, 2010 1:46 PM
Many of these young women (and I mean really young, in their teens) who are trafficked in the sex trade and become pregnant are FORCED to have abortions, whether they want them or not.Posted by: Phillymiss at May 14, 2010 1:52 PM

6 Out of 10 migrant Women Raped In Mexico, activists say
By TIM JOHNSON
April 28, 2010, 8:41PM
MEXICO CITY — As many as six out of every 10 Central American women and girls are raped as they pass through Mexico hoping to cross illegally into the United States, Amnesty International said Wednesday.
The rapists include criminal gang members as well as local authorities in collusion with them, said Rupert Knox, an Amnesty International researcher on Mexico.
Last year, Mexican immigration authorities detained
about a fifth of them women or girls, the report says.
Migrants fear that if they report assaults, abductions or rapes, they'll be deported to their home countries, it said.
So Mexican law enforcement officers, have some method to spot spanish speaking latino people who are not Mexican citizens or who do not have visas, and then they detain and deport them to their nation of origin.
So it is possible to identify illegal immigrants without resorting to racial profiling.
It has been reported that the Basketball Trip is not until next December, so what's the big deal, Highland Park H.S.?????
Be realistic, a lot could change between then and now. The girls should threaten to switch high schools or not try out for the team next year. If this were a boys' team, would the trip have been cancelled? Probably not.
