A couple updates on my June 23 post about the Provincetown, MA, Public School System's decision to give kids as young as 5 or 6 condoms upon request, at the same time disallowing parental approval.

I heard on WLS radio's Don and Roma Show this morning that the seaside town of Provincetown is also a homosexual harbor. Sure enough, according to Wikipedia...

Thomas Beatie gained worldwide attention 2 years ago when he became the 1st known transgendered man to give birth. Now Beatie and his wife, Nancy - who have a daughter and a son - are expecting baby No. 3, according to momlogic.com.

Beatie, born a woman, underwent a sex-change operation but kept his reproductive organs. He made headlines in 2007 after pictures of his pregnant belly became public. Nancy is unable to have children because of a hysterectomy.

I've been watching this story with interest, because feminists immediately took up the cause of 18-year-old South African Caster Semenya last month when the International Association of Athletics Federations ordered gender tests after s/he won a gold medal in the 800 meter run at the World Athletics Championships....

Those of us who grew up watching Sonny and Cher would never in a million years have envisioned this sad, confused future for little Chastity Bono. From TMZ.com, today:

Chastity Bono, civil rights advocate, journalist, author and musician, is in the early stages of changing his gender - transitioning from female to male....

Bono, the child of legendary entertainers Sonny and Cher, began the process earlier this year, shortly after his 40th birthday....

Well, this makes for a nice lesbian companion to my previous post, "TV star and 'wife' switch embryos." In the Berkshire Eagle, March 12, located in MA where homosexuals can legally marry:

A woman who allegedly intended to artificially inseminate her wife with her brother's semen has been charged with domestic assault and battery....

Jennifer Lighten, 33, told police that Stephanie Lighten [pictured right], her wife, was "all liquored up" when she returned to their... apartment, where the defendant then allegedly tried to use a syringe to inseminate her....

Jennifer told investigating officers that Stephanie "has been talking about trying to impregnate (her) for some time," police said....

To answer the question, I think this is neither silly nor sweet. Doubting the odds that both women were infertile, I expect simple artificial insemination would have sufficed....

Former IL Gov. Rod Blagojevich's openly lesbian sister-in-law Deborah Mell (who I met once in Springfield when we were lobbying opposite sides of a bill - I forget which) was elected state rep in November.

Mell has the distinction of being the only House member to oppose his impeachment.

Mell is proposing mandatory infertility coverage with a twist...

INS CD - INFRTLTY COVERAGE

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that no group policy of accident and health insurance providing coverage for more than 25 employees that provides pregnancy related benefits shall contain a provision that covers the diagnosis and treatment of infertility only if the individual was covered under the policy for at least one year. Deletes a definition for "infertility".

... So infertility would include a lack of desire to consummate.

My husband and I watched the documentary Pregnant Man on Discovery Health last night.

It showed how "gender reassigned" Thomas Beatie got pregnant: by choosing sperm on the Internet whose donor had "wife" Nancy's coloring and was smart, mail-ordering it, receiving a canister with the sperm on dry ice, heating it to 90 degrees, and injecting it via needleless syringe.

The world sure has changed, and so quickly. It seems to me it is suddenly spinning out of control.

And I read this today on AOL Entertainment. Ellen DeGeneres was asked about having children with "wife" Portia de Rossi, and answered...

The world's first so-called pregnant man, in actuality a half-sex changed woman, will appear tomorrow night on ABC's 20/20 with Barbara Walters. According to On Top:

The interview is the first [Thomas] Beatie and his wife [Nancy] have given since the birth of their daughter, Susan. The hour-long report promises an exclusive inside look at the Beatie family household and footage from inside the hospital during Susan's birth.

But there's more. Walters announced on The View this morning that Beatie is pregnant again. Susan was born June 29, 2008, and her sib is due June 12, 2009. Irish twins.

As if the story of this baby's conception and prenatal carriage weren't strange enough, see if you can find a new plot twist in the story, not really a gender bender... I don't think... but still slightly confusing:

According to ABC News yesterday:

Thomas Beatie, the transgender man who made headlines as the so-called "pregnant man," gave birth Sunday to a healthy baby girl....

The birth, at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, OR, was natural, according to a source, who added that reports that Beatie had had a Caesarean section are false.

"She's really cute, really pretty,'' the source [said]....

The source said Beatie was resting and the family was focusing its attention on the new baby....

Sex researcher Alfred Kinsey is credited with "revolutionizing" American sexual thought and practices in the 1950s and 60s, including normalization of homosexuality, porn, pedophilia, and abortion.

In reality, Kinsey was a pedophiliac homosexual sado-mashocist who likely died of self-inflicted wounds at age 62. His "ground-breaking" books, The Kinsey Reports contained data obtained from pedophiliacs, which he did not report.

Born a beautiful girl named Tracy Beatie, she experienced a traumatic childhood with an absentee father and mother who committed suicide when Tracy was 12. Tracy experienced normal teenage dating years that included a modeling stint and being a Miss Hawaii Teen USA finalist....

Yesterday AOL posted "Women behind the songs," and pop culture sucker that I am, I clicked through photos and tags.

I stopped on Candy Darling, for whom Lou Reed wrote and Velvet Underground sang, Candy Says, (also covered by Blind Melon), and to whom Reed was referring in Walk on the Wild Side ("Candy came from out on the Island, In the backroom she was everybody's darlin'...."). The AOL tag stated:

Lou Reed wrote this as an homage to Warhol "superstar" Candy Darling, who came to New York a shy young man and emerged as a glamorous blond woman. Reed channeled both Candy's delicacy and steeliness in lines like "I've come to hate my body/And all that it requires in this world" - a reference to the female hormones that enabled her gender change but ultimately took her life.

We hear a lot about men dying from overuse of male hormones (i.e., steroids) but not about anyone dying from overuse of female hormones (i.e., steroids)....
