Healthcare battle gone wild

I've been out of pocket at a speaking event (shout out to Choices of the Heart in NJ!). Lots going on. Here are the latest scoops via Twitter from reliable sources Matt Lewis and Greg Mueller (click to enlarge). I'm afraid to hope we're starting to see a meltdown:

Then there was this, posted 6p ET tonight, entitled, "Pelosi breaks pledge to put final health care bill online for 72 hours before vote"...

Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office tells The Weekly Standard that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was "absolutely" committed to doing so.

House members are still negotiating important issues in the bill - whether it will provide taxpayer-funding for abortions, for example. Pelosi is pushing for a Saturday House vote, and a number of big changes will be introduced, likely less than 24 hours before the vote takes place (if in fact it does)....

Comments:

And so I ask: Does this really and truly surprise anyone? You can take Pelosi out of San Francisco, but you can't take San Francisco out of Pelosi.

I heard Mark Levin estimate 20k at the rally. I hope he was right!

The pro-socialized healthcare drones forgot to bring their matching binkies.

Is that true about the AMA? I know they dont represent a great percentage of doctors but it would be huge if they rescind their endorsement.

I truly believe that all of this is totally against the Constitution of the United States of Amnerica.

Congress is attempting to ram this down the throats of the American people...

This is not about health care. This is about
goverment power and complete control over all persons in America.

This is about the GOVERNMENT.
This is about POWER.
This is NOT ABOUT Freedom.

This is NOT about THE PEOPLE.

I totally agree with you Carolyn this bill is about CONTROL, POWER, THE POWER OF LIFE AND DEATH, "TRANSFORMING AMERICA TO A SOCIALIST COUNTRY, AND ABORTION ON DEMAND.

Please pray Christian pro-lifers about the PP zoning case in Aurora Illinois- the judge decides today if the zoning violations case against PP will be dismissed.

Prolifer L,
I'm praying, but I'll bet a zillion dollars the case is dismissed. Planned Parenthood will be at the center of women's healthcare in this country. Who's to say that women won't be mandated by the government to get all of their mammograms, OB care, etc... at PP? Just watch.

Kudos to Choices of the Heart in NJ for being a great resource for women in need! www.choicesoftheheart.com

I know the odds are against prolifers Janet, but "with God nothing is impossible", we are called to pray in faith. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things we cannot see". I know that we are considered David (prolifers) vs. Goliath (PP) but is able to give us the victory through Jesus Christ.

Pro-lifer L,
Yes, I had a feeling you'd say that. My cynicism gets the best of me at times. PP has a way of hypnotizing the courts into submission.

I will continue to be positive and pray.

Dear Lord,
Have mercy on us and please bless America.
Amen.
