I reported June 11 that the Feminist Majority Foundation restrained itself a whole 10 days before soliciting donations off of late-term abortionist George Tiller's dead body....
Now NARAL has joined the death peddling. In an email alert yesterday it began selling "Trust Women 5.31.2009" wristbands for the amazing price of 5 for $10!
I added the Sham Wow guy to help with the pitch. NARAL's "But wait!" offer? If you donate $25, you get 8 wristbands! (But wait, 8?) And for $35, you get 10! (What?) Turns out the more one gives, the worse NARAL's deal gets....
But the best part for NARAL is the windfall profit it is making from this Tiller death gimmick. I checked the purchase price for 1,000 wristbands, my conservative estimate of NARAL's initial purchase, and found they would cost a total of $190, or 19¢ each! A 900% minimum profit! Click to enlarge:
NARAL shows once again how the industry sure knows how to make an aborted baby buck.

Well how else are they going to keep paying the bill for their luxury office space, only a few blocks from the White House?
pro-choice values? Isn't that an oxymoron?Posted by: Becca at June 23, 2009 8:05 AM
If my experience in high volume plastics production still holds, then I'd estimate the actual production cost is probably around 2 cents each.
The actual tool cost is very, very low, materials are next to nothing in volume and machine shot time is negligible. There's no custom packaging for shipping (you can use oversized trashbags) and no serious packaging for distribution. It's a "penny candy money-maker".
Maybe we should produce a card to give people who are wearing the bracelet? Send them to a website:

good point Mary!!
So I make one $100 donation, I get 15 wristbands.
Or I can make three $10 donations and get 15 wristbands.
What marketing genius at NARAL came up with this plan?! I'm tempted to make a $15 dollar donation just to see the carnage.Posted by: Cranky Catholic at June 23, 2009 9:13 AM
Let's finish that sentence shall we?
"Trust women...to kill their unborn"
Now that's a bracelet!
Trust Women...after you have shown them the ultrasound of their unborn baby, explained the risks of abortion and described what the procedure will do to their child.Posted by: Carla at June 23, 2009 9:29 AM

How about making a MOTHERHOOD: A Proud Profession bracelet and putting the date of CHRISTMAS or something on it and then selling it for a fundraiser for a Pregnancy Resource Center.

Hi Carla 9:29am
You are aware that according the PC movement women are just helpless waifs? Unless of course when they have abortions.
Look what "victims" they are of PCPs. Goodness, women just turn into simpering wimps the minute they are forcibly dragged into one. After being forcibly dragged into one, women find it impossible to simply walk out.
Informed consent is just too traumatic. Why its so inconvenient to make two trips. Really? All patients having elective surgery will make at least two trips prior to surgery. People travel miles from their homes for medical treatment. No one complains that this is beyond human endurance, unless of course its a woman seeking an abortion.Posted by: Mary at June 23, 2009 10:01 AM
I am George Tiller by Barrak Obama
Maybe the 'dead babies r us' folks can get pbho to autograph a few of the wrist bands and really jack the price up.

I have heard that George Tiller performed an abortion of 38 week old baby girl, Sarah Brown, who survived the abortion attempt, but she escaped seriously disabled and died at age five, in 1998. Is this story true?
Please excuse my English, I am blogger from Czech Republic, Europe. I have been reading your blog for some months and I think it is really great.

This is baby Sarah.
Where are the left wing environmental wackos? Left wing NARAL will destroy the planet with all this plastic!
Great point Mary! I'm always so amazed that the environmentalists have really missed the greater arguments that would give them legitimacy.
For one, where is the outrage for the polluted waters from the birth control hormones that contaminate our water and wildlife? Not too mention the laboratory wastes and container packaging coming from the ever abundant supply of latest female endocrine violators to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Oh I forgot, they prevent too many humans from living to pollute the planet. The world's water supply has to be on the back burner.
For the population alarmists, where is the outrage for the fertility mills where women go to get impregnated with multiples? Why can't they adopt if their motherhood motives are true? Oh, I forgot, many have compromised their fertlity from birth control and previous abortions. That wouldn't fit into their agenda.
I trust that women will be deceived at the mill.
I am amazed with how the pro-choice movement still has the power to shock me. I thought I've seen everything by now.

This bracelet "shocks" you? It's a bracelet, it's a fundraiser. How much do you think the Lance Armstrong bracelets cost? I just checked $2.99 each.Posted by: Hal at June 23, 2009 10:58 AM
Thank you for the Sham Wow guy. :)
"Trust Women"....sounds nice and innocuous.
"Pro-Choice".....sounds nice and innocuous.
"Reproductive Rights".....sounds nice and innocuous.
"Bodily Autonomy".....sounds nice and innocuous.
"Planned Parenthood"....sounds nice and innocuous.
The truth is that all these nice sounding words lead to the murder of innocent children. These words are designed to mislead, deceive, hide and deny the affects of abortion on the babies that are destroyed and the women that are scarred for life.
Let us not forget that the pro-abortion movement cannot represent accurately what it stands for and what it does at it is naturally revolting to the human mind and spirit. They must use nice sounding and apparently harmless euphemisms to "hook" people into their ideology.
How else could portions of the general public say things like, "I am pro-choice but I am against abortion"? This thinking betrays all human logic. And now, at the election of the most pro-abortion President in history and his "common ground" lies, the abortion propagandists are spewing the blasphemous lie that to be pro-abortion is to be pro-life! These people are utterly shameless and without any consciences.
These deceptive ploys have been used for millenia on the masses of people as sheep led to the slaughter. They are no different than any other bait and switch scheme designed to lure people in and then take something from them be it their money, their lives, their innocence, their freedoms. The abortion movement uses "Trojan Horse", "Sucker Punch", "Bait and Switch", "Lie to Them Long Enough and They'll Believe Anything" battle tactics and pro-abort movement leadership knows this and do it under the horrific lie that they "care" about women". Really? Aren't at least half of the murdered children their sisters?
They could care less about women. If they did they would promote, prior to every abortion procedure, the complete disclosure of the destructive affects of abortion and the devastation that abortion causes to women that have them.
It is amazing to me that if you are buying a home, one of the biggest decisions one can make, the seller of that home must disclose all problems with that home or face very serious consequences later on if the failure to disclose results in harm to the buyer or their family. Same is true with just about every other contract for sale or services that we all enter into every day. The abortion contract defies all logic of "buyer/seller" agreements.
It just goes to show how anarchist and fascist the abortion movement is. They do have the politicians in their pockets, literally. Politicians that are sworn to protect the Constitutional rights of every single human life, no matter how small of insignificant. Yes, the abortion movement is an attack on America itself and its God-ordained foundations.
As a Christian I am commanded to love even people like these. I am not necessarily talking about people that have been deceived into having abortions, I am talking about people in the pro-abortion movement who know that what they do is a lie and how they sit around conference tables in their marketing sessions determining how to peddle their death culture to the millions of new kids that come of age each day.
There is an antidote to the poison of the "Snake Oil Peddlers" of the abortion movement. It is the Truth that Jesus Christ is Lord. It is always stating that what they do is murder. It is never backing down from saying this no matter how many times it must be done.
"Be not be deceived, God is not mocked".Posted by: HisMan at June 23, 2009 11:09 AM
You don't get it do you?
This is not about women's rights, this is about money and power.
The truth is that the pro-abortion movement is the most anti-women movement on the planet.

"This is not about women's rights, this is about money and power."
There are easier ways to get money and power. I think you should acknowledge that these people sincerely believe they are doing the right thing. Although you don't agree, there's no reason to attack their motives.Posted by: Hal at June 23, 2009 11:52 AM
Just out of confusion, what exactly does NARAL need the money for? NARAL spends fifty thousand dollars on a campaign to stop people from buying license plates that say something about being pro-life (why would they take the right to choose a license plate away from drivers- I just don't understand...).
It's not like they use their money to help women.
They put out propaganda...and that's about it.Posted by: Vannah at June 23, 2009 11:56 AM
propaganda is not cheap.Posted by: Hal at June 23, 2009 11:59 AM
Of course, NARAL is making an enormous profit on the plastic bracelets. The whole point of these plastic "cause" bracelets is as a symbol of the wearer's financial and philosophical support of a particular cause. This isn't exploitation. People who want to buy a purple bracelet want NARAL to make money off of it because they support the work NARAL does.
Presumably unlike most readers on this site, I shed tears over Dr. Tiller's death. Yet I am not in the least bit offended by organizations soliciting donations in the immediate aftermath of his death to carry on work to which he devoted his life.Posted by: Prochoicer at June 23, 2009 12:13 PM
Instead of "Trust Women", if he were being genuine, Tiller would have had a button that said "Trust Abortion. People flocked to him because he did abortions. Period.
Naral's creation of this bracelet is one more way to perpetuate the myth that anti-aborts don't trust women. Of course we're going to respond.Posted by: Janet at June 23, 2009 12:15 PM
What are the "other" ways they can get money and power then? Have they not become entrenched in the pro-abortion movement making huge salaries and with prestigious titles. Do you really, really think they would give that up?
And somehow Hal you have fallen for the notion that abortion is a good thing when it never is, never. Why Hal, must abortion be couched in such innocuous terms? Why are they so ashamed to call it what it is when with other medical procedures there's no doubt what it is and what is done? Have you ever heard of a tonsillectomy being called something else because doctors don't want to their patients to know? Yes, this would be considered medical malpractice and as a lawyer you know this. Why must they even go to the lengths to say it isn't human, it isn't alive, it's isn't sentient, it's just a blob of tissue, etc., etc.? My God Hal, can't you see the utter deception? What has blinded you my friend?
The Germans that became Nazis under Hitler thought they were doing the "right" thing as well Hal. People generally don't do things because they think they are wrong. After all, we are created in the image and likeness of God. We are imprinted with an image and nature that inherently and by definition desires to do no wrong. The problem is that sin and our fallen nature distorts and twists things so that we can do very wrong things but at the same time convince ourselves we are doing right.
The point is abortion will always be wrong no matter how many people "think" it is right. This is an absolute, unchangeable truth.
As for me, I will oppose legal abortion until it is utterly defeated. And it will be. This is the only right thing to do.Posted by: HisMan at June 23, 2009 12:24 PM
I suggest that you start seling similr wrist bands.
They should say, "Trust Life".Posted by: HisMan at June 23, 2009 12:42 PM
When you lie to yourself, abortion looks good. When you lie to yourself and call it something other than abortion, think of it as something other than what it is...if you're in a situation that makes a baby a scary prospect, it starts looking good. If you can tell yourself it's just a blob of cells and nobody's really getting hurt, it's just a simple procedure, you're just using your right to choose, you're just taking care of your reproductive health, it starts sounding better and better.
But if you look at what that pregnancy you're terminating is, think about it from the inside a little bit, think about the fact that one time it was you in there, think about the tools that are used in this "simple procedure" and the products this procedure results in, it gets harder to legitimize, and if you can put your money before that person in there, or your education before that person in there, or your good time before that person in there, or your career before that person in there...why not continue the lie? Would you kill if you could get away with murder?Posted by: xalisae at June 23, 2009 2:39 PM
I trust that upon his entrance into the afterlife, "Dr." Tiller was greeted by the haunting stares of the 60,000 babies he killed with his own two hands.
Only this time, he could make no excuses, no half truths, no lies. He faced God almighty who IS truth and justice. The flimsy rhetoric called "trust women" gave him no cover or comfort. He will never hurt another baby again.Posted by: kris miller at June 23, 2009 2:47 PM
Kris...very true, we have to face the consequences of our actions here on earth...whether we are pro-abort or pro-life.Posted by: RSD at June 23, 2009 3:45 PM
I don't know if you were joking, Hal, but your "propaganda is not cheap" comment made me smile. :)
No, I agree with Prochoicer in saying that they have the right to put out the bracelets, and it's no different from any group putting out bracelets; I was just confused as to what NARAL did exactly. They aren't exactly known for supporting alternatives to abortion, nor do they actually help women. They campaign for abortion but not healthcare; they would dismiss a pro-life politician but not abortionists who commit rape- I was just slightly confused as to what they actually do with all of the money that they make.Posted by: Vannah at June 23, 2009 4:04 PM
What a lie.
"Trust Women... except those that disagree with you."
"Trust Women... or trust their boyfriends who don't want kids."
"Trust Women... to bring you profit."
"Trust Women... who are trusting the people around them... who are trusting the rhetoric... which you put out."
The bracelet should just say "Trust NARAL"... or "Trust Abortion" it's what they really mean.Posted by: MaryRose at June 23, 2009 5:54 PM
