My son is autistic, too. From a very young age, music "spoke" to him. He could sing songs in languages he'd never heard or spoken before. He is an excellent mimic musically, which is curious because when speaking he uses a fairly flat tone...although he's improving there bit by bit. We always play music around the house, whether it's an iPod, a CD, or even my feeble attempts to play a piano.
